GPG Nations Cup Rd 15 Official Qualifying Results

Team China

20th on the grid. Not where we would like to be, but I guess that's the best Cheng could manage with the small amount of boost at his disposal. Just have to hope he can work his way through the field without getting involved in other incidents and put himself inside the top 10 by race end.

Monaco GP

Graham-Ayrton Grimaldi : "I've done a slight mistake in the last sector and lost one tenth, and I miss the pole because of that. Hoping for a good start and snatch some places before first turn."

what a wonderful quali by Team Serbia! We're so good we're not even on the time sheets ;)

Our conservative boost figure almost paid off. This should be an entertaining race.
Awful, we have a serious lack of power. Should be addressed in the next race but now we'll have to push.

(Translation: We should've boosted)

Stats: 139 Starts / 7 Wins / 9 Poles / 5 Fastest laps
5th? Not bad. Probably equal best qualy for Japan this season I think. Hope Ihara can push for a podium

Sweet, nice one Patrick! Let's see if he can convert that to a good race result
Not good enough! We aim for a top 10 finish!

Not our best showing, but our championship rivals aren't too far in front. Fingers crossed for a bit of luck to drag us up the field a bit.
Finally a good qualification for us. I hope this time we get a better result and why not a victory in our home race.
As usual a very close qualifying session. Hope to gain places as last race :)

Without boost I don't expect so much, so, I don't complain.

GPG Nations Cup Rd 15 Bulgarian GP – Race Day

Part 1

Hello and welcome back to Hungaroring for race day. It was a fantastic qualifying session we witnessed yesterday, as we saw Kuei take pole position away from Viljoen in her final run. What can we expect from today’s race? We’ll find out soon enough. So then, time now to head trackside as the cars can be heard returning from their warmup lap, which means we are ready for the race to get underway.

Weather Report

Here we go. The cars are now lined up on the grid and ready to go racing. Kuei has pole, but does have Viljoen alongside her. Behind them we have Nikolov and Frutiger-Fussli, who could be a problem for the front row. When the lights go out, it’s go time.

They’re off!

Not even two corners into the race, and already the yellow flag is out.

This seems to be the reason why it came out. Tung looks to be recovering from a spin, so we’ll need to see a replay.

It seems that Tung was trying for a move up the inside of Dixon into the first corner.

However, he wasn’t far enough up the inside, which resulted in contact between the two drivers, sending Tung into a spin and almost putting Dixon out of the race.

Tung gets to continue on, but he won’t be happy with himself.

Nikolov is really putting the pressure onto Kuei in the battle for the lead.

The split shows just how close it is between the two.

First fastest lap of the race goes to Kuei.

But it is quickly taken away by Nikolov.

Aspenstrom is trying for a move on Grimaldi. Also, Silvestre is attempting his own move on Silva.

From the looks of it, it seems both drivers were successful in getting by.

Viljoen currently sits in 3rd, and currently has the best view of the battle for the lead.

Having disposed of Silva earlier, Silvestre now wants to try and get by Grimaldi.

However, it won’t be now as the Monaco driver defends his position.

Briere currently sits in 10th, which sees him as the highest placed championship contender for the time being.

Kuei once again takes the fastest lap.

Onboard now with Silvestre as he tries for a move up the inside of Grimaldi.

Silvestre has managed to get by, leaving Grimaldi to now defend his position from Silva.

De Boer now sits in 10th, which means he has managed to get by Briere.

We have a battle taking place at the rear of the field between Domenech, Tafuro and Rodriguez.

De Boer has lost a few positions. Time for another replay.

It would seem De Boer had run slightly wide, which allowed the cars behind to get ahead of him.

De Boer now sits in the middle of the train of cars.

Aspenstrom and Silva are now trying for a move on Frutiger-Fussli and Grimaldi respectively.

Silva has managed to get by Grimaldi.

Briere is back in the points, but does have to watch out for the cars behind him. Meanwhile, the timing shows that McGregor has managed to get by Keranen.

As we focus in on Girard, the timing confirms that Aspenstrom was successful in getting by Frutiger-Fussli. In the distance however, it seems Keranen has run wide and off the track.

Nikolov is really applying the pressure onto Kuei.

And it looks like the South Korean driver has cracked as she runs wide, allowing Nikolov to easily get by and take the race lead. Viljoen also manages to get by as well.

From the lead to 3rd. Kuei will not be happy about that.

Nikolov doesn’t keep the lead for long, as Viljoen makes his move and succeeds in getting by.

McGregor now finds himself having to defend from Dixon.

Briere is now under pressure from Cremasco, but the Canadian looks to be in trouble as he is slightly offline.

As a result, it causes him to run off the track and into impending doom.

The hit with the wall takes out the wheel, and that is race over for Briere.

During the commotion, Tung had managed to close in on both Tafuro and Domenech.

Tung was able to get by Domenech, but couldn’t get by Tafuro.

Viljoen will most likely be happy to be back where he feels he should’ve been at the start.

Domenech has run wide and off the track.

He manages to get back ontrack, but now sits in last place.

Aspenstrom may soon have his hands full defending from Silvestre.

The pressure that Aspenstrom was getting is now gone as Silvestre has run wide and off the track. However, unlike Briere, Silvestre is able to continue on.

It seems that Silvestre’s return to the track has caused a reaction that has lead to Silva finding himself off the track.

As the replay shows, it looks like both Silva and Grimaldi had to slow up to avoid hitting Silvestre, which allowed Girard to make a move on both of them.

Silva was forced off the track by Girard’s attempt to get by, and as the Portuguese driver returns to the track, he is passed by Grimaldi.

At least he manages to stay inside the top 10.

McGregor is applying the pressure onto De Boer.

As we ride onboard with Viljoen, let’s check out the current standings.

That’s enough action for now. We’ll return soon with more of the action, so don’t go anywhere.

Team China

Pretty decent start to the race for Cheng, although he didn't have to attempt his move at the first corner on Dixon as that could've ended up a lot worse. Still plenty of laps left in the race to go, and with the two stops still needed to be done it may give Cheng the chance he needs to keep on moving up through the field.
