19th. I guess we couldn't expect more with our huge 29 BHP boost.

Round 16 - Canadian GP - Race

Race day at Montreal, welcome everyone to the penultimate round. UAE, current championship leaders, struggled in yesterday's qualifying, only taking P17 on the grid. Their main contenders Canada and New Zealand are both in the top 10, having a big chance to claim the lead for themselves today. The weather forecast predicts a dry race.

The red lights are off and off they go!

Kuei has the better start and takes the lead!

de Boer past Dixon in 9th, and Rodríguez dropped behind Ihara

Hatfield managed to pass Tung

Girard attempts to take 5th from Brière

But has to stick back. Dixon meanwhile managed to retake 9th from de Boer

They're still fighting for it, but Dixon manages to keep the upper hand

Hatfield gains another place as he passes Silva in turn 1

Fastest lap for Kuei

Position movements in the top 10, as we can see Ihara also got past Girard

Another fastest lap for Kuei as we can see Frutiger-Füssli closing in on Kederer

Girard loses another spot as Rodríguez gets past

The Frenchman heads straight to the pits! Electrical problems explain his sudden loss of pace

Hatfield keeps on charging through the field, passes Cremasco for 13th

Girard rejoins in last, the chance on points is most likely gone

Frutiger-Füssli still stuck behind Kederer

Keranen with a nice move passes de Boer for 9th

Tafuro's the next one ahead of Hatfield

Kuei meanwhile slowly increasing her lead over Silvestre

A train seems to be forming behind Cremasco

Kuei in the lead, while in the background Frutiger-Füssli is looking for a way past Kederer

Missed by the cameras Keranen has gone past Dixon

Ihara closing the gap to Brière, but not close enough yet to attempt an overtake

Lap 15 as the first round of pitstops starts with Cremasco, Aspenström and Domenech coming in

Silvestre, Frutiger-Füssli, Tafuro and Tung pitting the following lap

Leader Kuei pits in lap 17

As well as Ihara, Rodríguez, Hatfield and McGregor

Kederer, Brière and Keranen coming in one lap later

Kederer loses a good bit of time as he has to wait for Dixon and Nikolov to pass

Enough for Frutiger-Füssli to get past in 3rd

While Kederer comes out just ahead of Ihara

Girard and Viljoen are the last ones to make their first stop

The standings after everyone stopped, Frutiger-Füssli moved up to 3rd, Brière lost 2 places, de Boer gained 2 spots

Nikolov up 2 spots, Keranen down 2, Tafuro up 1, Hatfield up 1, Dixon down 4, Silva up 1, Cremasco down 1

Girard handed last to Viljoen

McGregor passes Grimaldi for 17th

Aspenström tries to sneak through as well, but Grimaldi manages to keep him behind

Nikolov right behind de Boer now

Dixon lost massively during the stops, he's even behind Hatfield

Keranen passes de Boer for 9th, trying to make up the time lost during the stop

That doesn't look good for Brière

Yellow flags out while we see that Girard got past Domenech

A water leak ends Brière's race

Rodríguez kicks-off the second round of stops

Yellow flags out again, and we see Hatfield's car standing in the final chicane

Throttle problems put an end to his race, but he surely could have chosen a better spot to park his car

Yellow flags still out while we see the Marshall pushing Hatfield's car straight across the pit entry

Luckily the car is out of the way in time as Silvestre comes in to the pits

Frutiger-Füssli also in for his final stop

The next lap Kuei heads to the pits

Ihara and Kederer also in now

Keranen got past Nikolov during the stops, and now has a run on Rodríguez

And he passes him going in turn 1

More pitlane action

Keranen with the fastest lap

The standings after the final stops. No changes at the front, Keranen up 2 places in 6th

Tung got past Cremaso in the pits

Girard could pass Aspenström

The gap between Ihara and Kederer got bigger during the stops

Nikolov running right behind Rodríguez

McGregor managed to find a way past Cremasco

Girard in 17th, the early extra stop cost him a decent result

Silvestre might have to defend against Frutiger-Füssli in the final laps

Or not, as he comes in the pits for a third time, reporting throttle problems over the team radio!

What a shame, he was on podium course, and has dropped to 9th now

Frutiger-Füssli in 2nd, while Kederer's running in the final podium spot

5 laps remaining for Kuei

Nikolov hasn't given up on that 6th place yet

Silvestre trying to close the gap to de Boer, but 2 laps probably won't be enough to do so

Kuei starts her final lap

And after three 2nd place this and last season she takes the first win for South Korea in the Nations Cup!

Frutiger-Füssli crosses the line in 2nd place

And Kederer completes the podium in 3rd

With this result, the title fight remains open. Hatfield keeps his lead despite his retirement, as Brière failed to finish as well, and Dixon didn't score any points today. Thanks to his 3rd place Kederer could close the gap to those 3. Cremasco, Tafuro and Nikolov only with a slight chance to take the title.

Team UAE

Poor qualifying result but the early charge looked promising until reliability issues took us out of the race. Can't wait to see the points going into the final round, pressure is on! Got lucky with Canada retiring and NZL with a poor finish.
Talk about championship changing moments. Should make for an exciting end to the season.

Team China

13th. An ok result for us, but that probably means we'll no longer be inside the top 10 anymore in the championship. Guess that means an all out attack in the next round with whatever boost is left at our disposal.

Good race for us, though we were lucky to get on the podium, as we didn't really have the pace for it. Gap down to 7 points now, but probably too much to have a realistic chance. Though a top 3 surely would be nice.

Hope the coverage is ok, was a rather boring race (a bit unusual for Montreal), not that much to show.

Hmm, it was really our qualifying that let us down today, Antero did nicely to make up spots and grab a well needed top 5. Shame this season, a few rounds we did nowhere near our potential, and others we sort of threw away possible results. All in all, we look to the final round with hope, but confidence isn't as high as earlier this season.
Fastest lap is a consolation, so for sure we may have found some form just in time.
That beautiful graphics :-o
Maybe someday I'll put hand on f1graphics.cfg to see what I get.

For the race I didn't expect anything so I'm not complaining.

Woohoo! That was really tough, but it paid off! Nice to leave with our second top 10 finish.

Oh... I didn't realise of that ;)
I will test it to see what happens :-)

My Brawnesque season keeps going ! I went full boost and I actually managed to boost my damage instead lol ;)
3 seconds from a first podium of the season. A good result there, as we head to the final race. Good finish to the season for the team

An excellent result! :)

Worst season ever for the Portuguese team. With no boost for the final round it's only downhill for the final race...

The battle for the championship now comes down to the top 7 drivers. With only 14pts maximum left, the title is going down to the wire. Only 1 team will emerge as our Season 4 champion, as for which team that will be we won't know till after the final race in Spa.

Team China

As I suspected, we are no longer inside the top 10. Asides from the few races we had a good race in, this season has been a pretty disappointing one for us. We'll do the best we can at Spa, then our focus will turn to finishing up development of our Season 5 challenger, which we hope will be good enough to deliver us the results in the races next season.
