GPGSL Rd 9 Belgian GP – Free PracticeHello and welcome to the 9th round of the GPGSL: The Belgian GP. We are at Spa Francorchamps, and we are getting ready for the start of the testers free practice. We have a very high chance of rain for this weekend, but as for when it will come, no one seems to know. Anyways, let’s head trackside as the cars are about to head out for the start of the session.
Weather Report: Sunny With Possible Rain
Out first are both JHR’s.
Hunsley is first to set a time.
However, Copeman and Silvestre manage to go faster.
Schroder slots into 3rd with a decent laptime.
Hinz puts in a good laptime to slot into 2nd.
De Boer once again shows that SCR have a fast car by taking 3rd.
SCR team owner Stoddart goes 7th fastest.
Kittleson puts his Shadow up into 4th.
Which is short lived as Ingers goes faster.
De Bruyker puts in a stunning laptime to go 2nd fastest.
Van Smirren also puts in a good laptime, which is good enough for 5th.
Things are still not going right for TNR. Mills goes 12th fastest.
Demon owner Sheppard goes 13th fastest. He won’t be too pleased with his time.
Thomas in the second Shadow goes 4th fastest.
13th for O’Brien is the best he can manage. Considering the pace of the SCR cars, he’ll be a little bit disappointed.
Allington goes 12th fastest.
Schieder, who will no longer be doing double duty starting from the next round, goes 13th fastest.
Santilal puts his MPR into 5th. The session is looking good so far for MPR.
Domenech puts in a good lap, and finds himself in 7th.
Hayes goes 13th fastest.
Karjalainen goes 21st fastest.
McGregor puts his MAC Racing car into 17th.
With all drivers now having completed their first run, let’s take a look at the standings.
Silvestre gets the second runs underway.
Schieder looks to have come out of the pits in front of Schroder. Let’s see how the VSM driver handles this situation.
But wait, Schroder has hit the wall. What has happened to the VSM driver?
Let’s look at the replay. It looked like Schroder was trying to get by Schieder into Eau Rouge, but was forced out wide into the runoff area.
And as a result, he ended up spinning out into the wall.
De Boer improves himself up into 3rd.
Stoddart improves, but only as far as 18th.
His teammate on the other hand manages to improve up to 5th.
O’Brien is finally able to put in a decent time, and improves up to 6th.
Domenech in the second VSM manages to improve up to 9th.
Schroder is back out once again, only this time he is in the spare car.
His time is good enough to move him into the top 10.
