I hope there wasn't a activity check. Did forget to login in the last 2 1/2 weeks.

Saw the result from Brazil and I can only say: Sorry boss. Also bad to see Connors retirement. Good luck mate. And welcome Anne. :)

I hope that my weekend at Spa will be a lot better than the one in Interlagos. :-O

I am now beginning to think the same way as John. The chances of us winning anything this season are very slim. Can I have my money back? ;)

GPGSL Rd 9 Belgian GP - Race Day

Part 3

Welcome back once again.

Nell and Gilson continue on with their battle.

Greenhalgh now has the fastest lap.

Elleker rejoins the track in 8th after taking his stop.

It’s still close at the front between Pedersen and Kederer.

Nell is in for his stop.

Gilson is in as well.

As the Demon and SCR teams go to work, Greenhalgh again takes the fastest lap. Meanwhile, Schieder has come in for his stop as well.

Gilson has gotten in front of Nell, which means SCR were able to get the stop done quicker than Demon.

Schieder rejoins in 9th after taking his stop.

McCarthy is giving the MAC driver plenty of pressure.

Kederer is not giving up in his pursuit for the race lead.

Now the battle goes to the pitcrew to see who can get their driver out first as both Pedersen and Kederer are in for their stop.

As the timing shows that Elleker now has the fastest lap, we can see that Kederer has been held up in the pits because of Cartwright coming in for his stop.

Pedersen rejoins in 3rd.

While Kederer rejoins in 4th ahead of Gilson.

The timing shows that Legge is in for his stop.

It looks like Cartwright had rejoined the track in 9th after taking his stop.

Legge rejoins in 16th behind Van Renselaar.

Now that everyone has made their stop, let’s take a look at the standings.

Schieder is doing a good job at holding down his current position.

Legge has managed to gain some time on Van Renselaar.

Greenhalgh’s lead is out to 1.5s over Elleker.

Cartwright has a look up the inside of Schieder, but the MAC driver is able to hold him back.

Elleker again takes the fastest lap.

Kederer goes faster.

Jalving is heading into the pits. Apparently he stills need to have his scheduled stop.

Jalving rejoins in 16th.

Schieder has a look up the inside of Scala, but is unable to get by the VSM.

Time for the final break of the coverage. We’ll try and be back very soon.

Looks like it should be a good battle to the flag!

It's the AMR streak versus my streak on the line ;)

GPGSL Rd 9 Belgian GP - Race Day

Part 4

Welcome back for the final time.

Elleker again takes the fastest lap.

Kederer denies him once again.

Scala is taking the pressure pretty well as he holds onto 7th.

Van Renselaar is still defending from Legge, but both of them will need to keep their eye out for Jalving.

It’s a very close battle now for the wooden spoon.

Legge has a look up the inside of Van Renselaar.

And the Demon driver makes the move stick.

Now Jalving wants his chance to get by Van Renselaar.

And Jalving makes it past. Meanwhile, Pedersen takes the fastest lap.

Back to the front, as we see how the top 10 have moved since the start. It’s also a good time to check out the standings.

Scala has a SCR behind him, and he is doing a good job of keeping it behind him.

It is Cartwright who is behind Scala, and he is looking for a chance to get by.

But he isn’t able to get by, and now has to worry about McCarthy who has closed in on him.

Kederer once again takes the fastest lap.

Jalving goes faster.

Greenhalgh still leads, but Elleker is slowly catching up to him.

That is what 0.5s looks like.

2 laps left.

Scala must've ran wide somewhere, as he now sits behind Horvath.

Jalving is fighting hard to try and make it into the points, but he needs to clear Legge first before he can have that chance.

Elleker has managed to get closer to Greenhalgh.

With Elleker this close to Greenhalgh, we are set for a fantastic end to this race. It’s the streak of AMR against the streak of Greenhalgh. But only one of them will continue.

On the final lap now and Kederer once again takes the fastest lap.

Kederer’s lap is bested by Gilson.

Pedersen still holds onto 3rd.

The only other battle taking place is between Legge and Jalving.

This is shaping up to be a very close finish, as Elleker is still very close to Greenhalgh.

Onboard with Elleker now, and we can see just how close he is to Greenhalgh.

Into the last corners, and it looks like Elleker has bumped into Greenhalgh.

And indeed he has. Greenhalgh has run wide through no fault of his own.

Now the two drivers are side by side.

Elleker has gotten in front of Greenhalgh!

Elleker wins the Belgian GP, in the most controversial way.

Greenhalgh finishes 2nd.

Kederer tried his best to get by Pedersen, but the MAC driver was able to hold onto 3rd.

Jalving fought all the way to the end, but Legge was able to hold the MPR behind him.

What a race we witnessed today. We never thought we would have 5 retirements within the first 5 laps, and the rain definitely played a big part in the outcome. And the finish is quite possibly one of the most controversial finishes we have seen in quite some time. Greenhalgh had the race well and truly in his grasp, and to lose it to Elleker at the final corners would be devastating for him. We’ll have to wait and see what comes out of this, but for now congratulations go to Jack Elleker and AMR, our winners of The Belgian GP. We hope you enjoyed the race coverage, and we’ll see you next time for the 10th round of the GPGSL. This is GPGTV.Org/Farked, signing out from Spa Francorchamps. Goodbye everyone.

Results To Come

P.S: As the race director, I think it was an unfair move Elleker made on Greenhalgh for the race win. In a way, it looks like it could have been an intentional bump, which is completely un-sportsman like. So I request that the GPGSL board decide on what to do with Elleker. Therefore, the results from the race will remain unofficial until a decision can be made.

AMR will do anything to keep their Spa streak going it seems ;)

For me, I don't think there should be a penalty because trying to apply penalties opens a whole new can of worms to the series, and probably is something that needs to be legislated before an incident happens not after. Perhaps it is something that we could look at for the future though?

Why can't I just once gain positions or at least keep my position when I have a good starting place :-(

No penalty, this is GP4 AI.

if there are video proof of the bump we can discuss it, if not, well not much to do abou it...

congrats to Jack! Well deserved drive!

Not really sure if i´m to be happy or not, sure 3rd was fantastic, the team really deserved it! But my god, how can we loose out to a car that was off the track?!?

But again, it was a nice race and finishing in 3rd is a good batch of points to the team.
Ridiculous to lose the race from a piece of foul play like that, Ed should rightfully have taken the win.

I think the decision on a penalty in a case like this, when it has evidently changed the final result, should lie with the race director, in this case Greg.

It is certainly a matter for discussion, I don't believe we have ever had a similar incident when a race win has been simply stolen.

I'd suggest Elleker be demoted to second, nothing more severe than that.

i think a 30 second penalty would be better if a penalty has to be taken =)

No penalty, if you start this now, you'll have to give grid penalties for blocking drivers on their runs (like what happened to John this quali) etc., what will result in a mess.

I'll be taking a break from running races for a few rounds. I've done the last 2 in a row, so I think it's best to let other people run a race. I'll be sure to let everyone know when I want to run another race.

No penalty please, Ed had won enough races.

I would have done it too ;) I guess I ended up 11th, huh?

My GPGSL Career
Not sure if I could stay out and keep 12th at least, but one point or none really doesn't make much of a difference anyway. The race was lost in qualifying and while I would personally like penalties, I'm completely against it. As other people have pointed out, the GP4 AI is like this and it's nobody's fault when such things happen. Plus, giving this decision to race directors is completely ridiculous, since that would end in very biased decisions sooner or later. And the board isn't completely unbiased either. And then come the questions which actions would have to be penalized, like me being blocked in qualifying, for example. That would lead to the grid being manually manipulated with external programs all the time... and so on. It just doesn't work well in GP4. We've had controversial maneuvers in the past which also weren't penalized. We shouldn't start this now, otherwise we'll end in a mess, like Toby said correctly.
