F1 Manager - 2006 Season - Season Finale! - Results PG38

You probably get tired of hearing this Tobi but, thanks once again ;)

I'm glad to announce that the perfs for the next race are already done and dusted so if anyone is able or would like to take a crack at running it just let me know and I can set you up. However, there will be a (very) slight delay whilst I sort out Vomit's replacement and carry out one or two little administrative tasks as well :)

Finally a podium after many dismal races. Looking forward to the next weekend.

If I am right, I'm the first on the waiting list, so I'll be happy to join this series. However, I'll need some time to read the rules once again and get used to it, so I may miss with the perfs in my first race. If so, I hope not to be punished.

However, I state my ambition to get BMW Sauber team :)

Haha nice try mate, unfortunately the real pycku has just responded to the pm I sent offering the spot (we don't fill vacancies in the series in this thread, only by pm) so I'm afraid that you're out a luck. Better luck next time I suppose ;-)

Thank you Tobi, I'll get them to you when I get back in tonight although I think it's safe to say that we're in dire need of RDs at the moment...

Indeed, it wouldn't be bad to have 1 or 2 more...

Cheeky. I suppose that now puts me top of the waiting list.

I've got my eye on Renault.

Actually its me who is pycku and pycku_. I created the second profile cause I had (and still have) problems with this site (mainly when using Google Chrome). Maybe on that browser my second profile (pycku_) was saved. So sorry for making such a mess. I read the rules and as far as I understood, there is no need to send any boost points, so the previous post from pycku_ may be deleted. Let's hope BMW Sauber makes some progress.

Don't be so sure that I'm leaving. I was inactive as explained by my post in the GPGSL thread.

I have a quick question, related to that rule:

Quote

Perf points are deducted if a driver fails to finish a race and also if they continue competing in the series passed their IRL retirement from all forms of single seater racing.

As JP Montoya is supposed to race in IndyCar in 2014 season and presumed that the 2007 season starts before that, will there be perf points deduction for him or not?
2006 Fuji Television Japanese Grand Prix - Free Practice

Ferrari was the dominating team in the free practice session today, with Fisichella ahead of Massa. Doornbos, who did pretty well here last season until his car let him down, showed another good performance and got 4th, clearly ahead of his teammate Montoya in 10th. Right behind Doornbos in 5th is Ralf Schumacher, beating his teammate da Matta and showing his ambition to get back in the race seat. Once again a disappointing session at the back end of the field for Renault and Midland.

Midland

Well, at least we have a setup reward bigger than most.
Not the best session for BMW, I hope we are better in qualification and race.
Didn't really expect an impressive result in FP1, looking for a good qualify

Honda
Hmm. Waiting for the qualifying session, since the results in the FP do not show anything.

McLaren

The pace is good, hopefully we can close up to the Ferraris in qualifying.

The 2014 Indy season has nothing to do with it. You have to look back at the year 2007 for this rule. Montoya raced in Nascar that year, which afaik doesn't count as single seater racing. But I think this has been discussed some pages back, and iirc it has been expanded to other top series like LeMans, Nascar...

What about Michael Schumacher? I (Renault) have him next season.
Super Aguri

Not the greatest result, at least our drivers are close
Ferrari

Great practice session, Giancarlo shows what he is good at! Let's hope the race will come towards a same result!

If you are racing, keep on racing and get some points!

2006 Fuji Television Japanese Grand Prix - Qualifying

Q1
In the first stage of the qualifying the Toyota drivers set the pace, closely followed by Kubica. Both Midland drivers made use of their setup reward and managed to get in Q2, however Frentzen suffered a broken suspension in his second run and thus was unable to continue the session. The drivers who failed to get in the next round are Vettel in 22nd, Button in 21st, Alonso in 20th, Villeneuve in 19th, Schumacher in 18th and Webber in 17th.

Q2
In the 5 minute break a light shower went over one half of the track, resulting in sector 2&3 being wet, and sector one still dry. But as the track dried up quite quick, it was all about being the last one to set the time in the session. This resulted in some surprises, as both Ferrari and McLaren sent out one of their drivers too early. Also out alongside Frentzen thus are Paffett in 15th, Glock in 14th, Lotterer in 13th, Raikkonen in 12th and Verstappen in 11th.

Q3
The conditions remained tricky, as it started to rain again shortly after the session started. However it didn't seem to have a big effect, as most drivers set their fastest time in the second run. In the end it was Toyota driver Cristiano da Matta who claimed pole position, ahead of Felipe Massa and Juan Pablo Montoya.
