Official Results

Team China

14th on the grid. Cheng reported that it was his inexperience in the rain that hindered him throughout the entire session. The race on the other hand will be a different story all together.

A crappy result was expected with no boost ;)

Our setup was for dry track, but unfortunately this rain ruined our chances for a podium finish. All we hope now is top 6 finish on a dry race on sunday.
Ample boost for Jean Girard in the French entry paid dividends...

Very good job by Graham-Ayrton Grimaldi.
Good result expected for the race.

11th for the 1st qualifying session of Team Philippines is a good start. Looking to move forward obviously on race day, but halfway up the field is half the battle

GPG Nations Cup Rd 13 Brazilian GP – Race Day

Part 1

Welcome back to Interlagos, where we are ready to see how all the drivers will cope with the 47 lap race that is ahead of them all. Graham-Ayrton Grimaldi in the Monaco car will start from pole, and alongside him will be Jean Girard in the France car. The weather report is a bit of a odd one this time round. Right now, it is nice and sunny. But rain is predicted for later on, which will most likely throw the race on it's head. Anyways, let's head trackside as the cars have now taken their places on the grid, and the Race Director is ready to hit the go button.

Weather Report: Sunny, with rain predicted for later.

Here we go. The cars are all lined up, and ready to get started. Monaco on pole, France alongside.

And the race is go. Grimaldi got a good start, as did Girard. But Kamikazi in the Japan car looks to have made a better start, as he is ahead of Girard heading into turn 1.

But Kamikazi couldn't hold the position as Girard retakes 2nd place. Cheng Tung in the China car meanwhile has lost 2 places.

The pack as they head through the first few turns.

Plenty of passing attempts heading back through the field.

San Marino, Bulgaria and Argentina look to put James Sarosa in the debuting Philippines car under plenty of pressure, but it looks like Sarosa is handling the pressure quite well. For now at least.

Tung in the China car currently sitting behind Mike Austin in the USA car. China will be wanting those places back.

The very back of the field.

Girard looks to pass Grimaldi as he heads up the inside down the main straight.

But couldn't get close enough, so decides to slot back in behind the Monaco car.

Grimaldi sets the fastest lap, but Girard responds straightaway by setting a faster lap.

Cauncaunibuca in the Fiji car has managed to get by Kamikazi for 3rd place.

As a result, it causes Kamikazi to run wide, which then allows Dan Paddock in the Great Britain car to get by as well.

Could there be a problem with the Japan car? Kamikazi looks to be holding up the cars behind, forming a train.

As Girard attempts a passing move on Grimaldi into turn 1, the fastest lap changes again.

But Grimaldi manages to stay out in front.

Kamikazi looks to be offline through the second corner. This doesn't look good for the Japanese driver.

He brakes as hard as he can to try and avoid the wall, locking up his brakes in the process.

And he just manages to keep it out of the wall. Great save by the Japanese driver, but at what cost for his tyres?

While trying to get the car back online, Kamikazi gets passed by a bunch of cars. Sarosa goes side by side with Kamakazi, and gets by as well.

Further up the field, Cremasco defends his position from Alvarez in the Spain car. While behind them, cars take to the inside in attempts to get by into the corner.

Nikolov in the Bulgaria car has managed to get past the Japan car as well. Kamakazi may have done more damage to the car than first thought.

Cauncaunibuca chasing down Grimaldi and Girard. The Fiji team has had a run of bad results recently, and they will be hoping to end that run here today.

Back in the pack, Austin in the USA car is doing well to hold off both the China car and Australia car. He needs to work on decreasing the gap between himself and Silvestre in the San Marino car.

But he may not get the chance, as the rest of the field behind McGregor are slowly catching up.

Monaco takes fastest lap.

But Fiji goes faster, and takes the fastest lap.

Girard goes side by side with Grimaldi down the straight.

Meanwhile, at the back of the field, Taytoh in the Ireland car has a slight brake lockup...

Which allows De Boer in the Netherlands car to get by.

Japan in the wall! The tv standings showed Japan going back through the field, and here's why. What happened?

Replay time. It appears to be a carbon copy from before. Kamakazi got offline, and brakes hard to try and avoid the wall.

But this time, he is not so lucky and hits the wall.

Thankfully, everyone was able to avoid the stranded Japan car.

Japan are the first retirement of this race.

Unseen by the cameras, USA has fallen backwards towards the rear of the field.

Onboard with Girard, as he chases down the leader. Overhead, the clouds start to get darker. Could this race soon be getting some rain thrown in?

Cauncaunibuca looks up the inside of Girard.

And gets by the Frenchman. Fiji now sit in 2nd place.

Silvestre and Domenech having a close battle with each other.

Fiji sets another fastest lap.

Netherlands having a tough race being near the back of the field.

Back to the front, and Great Britain has gotten by Fiji. What happened to Cauncaunibuca that caused him to fall behind both Girard and Paddock?

Replay time. It would appear that Fiji, having set the fastest lap, had ran wide or had a lockup somewhere in the first few turns, which allowed Girard to get by and Paddock to close in and get by as well.

Grimaldi enjoying his time out in the lead.

De Boer putting the pressure on Austin. USA's race hasn't been going the way they were hoping it would go.

Germany now sets the pace by taking fastest lap. This will help out slightly in the championship, if Kederer can manage to hold onto it till the end.

Vukcevic in the Montenegro car holding off Silva in the Portugal car, with Sarosa not far behind them.

Up front, Cauncaunibuca has a look up the inside of Paddock.

And gets 3rd place back.

Netherlands goes for a pass on USA.

And manages to get in front. The USA car is just off to the right of the screen.

After 7 laps, here are the current standings.

Time now for a break. We'll try and be back as soon as possible.

That's a good start so far. Hoping for that to continue 'til the end.

... (lost for words) :-(
