7th in the first quali is a solid start for us. We hope to progress in the race, too. We believe podium finish is the maximum we can achieve. What is more it seems that the director likes our car, which ones more prooves it is really beautiful ;)

Ah, now I see where it was. It was in with the announcement of the calendar so I completely missed the important part!

Unless I'm very much mistaken... I am very much mistaken!
Any change to make Kleine Nordschleife the track of the German GP?

I love to see these cars racing in that environment...

-----------------------------------------------------

Monaco :
Satisfied with our quali considering that it's our very first race and we have no boost.
Waiting for the race.

I've thought about it, but I really like the Norisring, have been there several times watching DTM. So I'll stick with it.

Race has been run and won, will be up sometime this week.

Apologies, probably could have made it all a bit clearer. As Maikel stated it is the GPGSL that doesn't have boost in race 1, we do. Don't worry too much though, im sure you'll claw it back in races to come :)

As for qualifying, bleurgh that was pretty bad... however i didn't use a boost, and im not last. Guess that shows how much Montenegro has rejudged our potential for this year ;)

Thanks once again Tobi for the coverage, really great job!

No worries, Connor! I should read things more carefully.

nice quali result for team sweden :D

Well 21st wasn't in Team Ireland's plans, but we have just got to deal with it now and have a good race. The good thing is we can only drop one place in the race ;-)

Round 1 - Australian GP - Race part 1

Welcome everybody at the sunny Oran Park to the first race of this years Nations Cup season. Gianluigi Silvestre will start from pole position today alongside Nathan McGregor, with reingning champion Markus Aspenström right behind them in 3rd place. The races of the support series this morning all have seen some start crashes, so it'll be interesting to see if all the cars can make it through the first corners safely. The drivers are just returning from the formation lap, so let's go straight to the track now.

All cars are lined up and waiting for the red lights

And here they go!

Aspenström had a bad start, Kederer already has passed him

Alvarez goes through as well

de Boer is late on the brakes

Johnson and de Boer both have lost one place

Everybody has managed the first corners without any incident

What has happened here? Silvestre has dropped back to 3rd!

One lap done and Kederer sets the fastest lap

The top 8 after 1 lap

Ah, here we have a replay of the start

McGregor attacked Silvestre into turn 3

He pushed Silvestre a bit off the ideal line, and Kederer was able to slip through too

Here we have another replay of the start which shows us the situation at the back of the field

And a third one showing us the bad start of Edvardsen, who has lost 3 places

Johnson sits in 12th

and is under pressure by Kamikaze

who tries to pass him on the inside

but Johnson stays ahead

The gaps between the top 8 after 2 laps

Domenech due to his good start running in 6th at the moment

Fastest lap for McGregor

Cauncaunibuca also has gained two positions at the start

Half a second between 2nd and 3rd

It seems that McGregor is able to pull away a bit

Brunner is in 9th place

and under immense pressure from Silva

Onboard with Silvestre

Allington now right behind Cauncaunibuca

Aspenström sits in 5th between Alvarez and Domenech

Vukcevic locks up his tyres

As does Kamikaze. Both seem to be pushing very hard

The standings after 10 laps

The gap between McGregor and Kederer gets slightly bigger

As does the one between Kederer and Silvestre

Silva is still very close to Brunner

McGregor improves the fastest lap

Domenech has closed up to Aspenström now

Tafuro running in 7th, in front of Nikolov

Vukcevic pulls out of Edvardsen's slipstream down the start finish straight

but he can't get past

Another fastest lap for McGregor

Kamikaze in 12th, de Boer in 13th place

Now Kederer takes the fastest lap

Paddock currently running down in 20th place

Girard behind him in 21st

And Taytoh in last place at the moment

Not much happening right now as we see Grimaldi

Riding onboard with Vilela

Silva with an overtaking attempt

But Brunner stays in front of him

A beautiful view of the Bulgarian car

McGregor really wants that point for the fastest lap today

Girard locks up

And the first round of pitstops begins. Domenech is the first to come in

Followed by Alvarez, Silva and Allington

Surprise, again a fastest lap by McGregor

Allington rejoins just ahead of the Australian

Tafuro, de Boer, Grimaldi, Edvardsen and Girard all in for their first stop

de Boer back on track in 17th

and he has passed Silva in the pits

Grimaldi gets out in 19th

Much action now in the pits as Silvestre, Aspenström, Brunner, Vilela, Kamikaze, Vukcevic and Paddock come in

McGregor laps Grimaldi

and pits a few seconds later

Kederer, Nikolov, Johnson and Cauncaunibuca all in the pits now, too

We're onboard with Silvestre now

He gets past the pit exit, but where are McGregor and Kederer?

McGregor in 2nd

Kederer in 3rd

And Silvestre leads!! Great strategy to come in a bit earlier while McGregor and Kederer were stucked between lapped cars

With the first round of pitstops done, these are the current standings

We take a short commercial break now, but we'll be back soon. Stay tuned!

Round 1 - Australian GP - Race part 2

And we're back at Oran Park Raceway, watching Silvestre pulling slightly away from McGregor

Kederer with a comfortable gap to Aspenström

And again the standings, this time with all the gaps

Kamikaze has lost 2 places in the pits

whereas Aspenström has gained one

Alvarez dropped back 2 places, and is in 6th now

Johnson now in 10th

Taytoh is the biggest winner of the pitstops, he gained 4 places

Paddock still in 20th

Another winner of the pitstops, Nikolov has jumped up to 5th

Domenech dropped back to 8th

Edvardsen running in 19th place now

Vukcevic up in 17th

14th place now for Cauncaunibuca

de Boer in 11th, close to the last point place

which is occupied by Johnson at the moment

Allington pulls out of Paddock's slipstream, will this be the first on-track overtaking manoeuvre today?

Nope.

Tafuro followed by Domenech

A bit of onboard impressions, sponsored by Kamikaze

Maybe now, Kamikaze side by side with Cauncaunibuca!

But Cauncaunibuca pulls in the pits, a loose wheel forces him to bring forward his second stop

Silva in 13th behind Vilela

With the seconds stops to come soon, here are the standings

Not many changes compared to the last time we saw them

McGregor now is able to close the gap to Silvestre, who is blocked by some backmarkers

Silvestre now laps Girard

McGregor does the same one lap later

Kederer now has to lap the Frenchman

It takes him 2 laps until he finally can get past

McGregor and Kederer both come in for their final stops. They'll try to do the same now as Silvestre at his first stop

Nikolov also comes in

And Kederer loses much time here, he has to wait until both Nikolov and Alvarez get past him before he can leave

de Boer now in the pits, too

McGregor meanwhile rejoins in 5th

and Kederer gets out in 9th just ahead of Vilela

Vukcevic in for his final stop

Aspenström leads now, but he is yet to pit

Silvestre has been in, will he keep the lead?

And the camera switches away to Brunner, well done by the director

Johnson, Vilela, Kamikaze and Taytoh all come in

Kamikaze gets out right behind de Boer, but who is in the lead??

It's Aspenström, but he still has to stop. I should have asked more precisely.

Taytoh back out in 19th

And Silvestre is in 2nd, he managed to stay ahead of McGregor!

Silva, Grimaldi, Paddock and Aspenström in the pits now

This puts Silvestre back in the lead

Tafuro currently in 2nd, he hasn't done his 2nd stop yet

Domenech, Allington and Tafuro are the last ones to do their final stops

All stops are done now, and this are the standings

Nikolov has dropped back behind Alvarez during the stops, but we're still waiting for the first on-track overtaking manoeuvre

Silvestre laps Vukcevic

Kederer has lost over 6 seconds during his second stop, the gap to Aspenström decreased from over 8 seconds to 1.5

Kamikaze runs in 12th now behind de Boer

Kederer again has problems with lapping Girard, Aspenström now right behind him

and he laps the Frenchman much quicker

We haven't seen this for a while now, fastest lap for McGregor

Silvestre starts the last lap

laps Grimaldi

and wins the Australian GP!

McGregor finishes second

Kederer managed to stay ahead of Aspenström

Alvarez crosses the line in 5th

6th place for Nikolov

Tafuro in 7th, Domenech in 8th

Brunner with 9th place

and the last point goes to Johnson

Thanks everyone for watching. We hope to see you again in Suzuka for the Japanese GP!
Full results to follow

Congratulations to Gianluigi Silvestre and Team San Marino!

Awful start of the season for Portugal. We could not manage to pass the Austrian team and that was fatal for our race with a disappointing 13th place at the end. Better luck next time.

Congratulations to the Australian team.

Yeah that could have gone better... :(

Well 7th at the start and 6th at the end isn't bad for the beginning of the season. However, we're aiming a little higher as top 5 will be our main purpose this season.
Oran Park is not the track for entertaining races. Nevertheless a nice coverage by Tobi.
