Slash, 100 percent i agree with you BUT i personally dont think that schuey had big problems at silverstone.
it's just that after his crash there in 1999 he always was slow at that track. He only won in 20002 and 2004 but we all know wwhat the ferrari was then :)
hockenheim, spa monza suzuka and hungary should give us a better view on the situation i think.
:)
+ read the thursday press conference on f1.com and see what michael's target is for 2011 ;) that really boosted me :)

Yep this will mess up Mclaren now as they wanted to test the new parts and they will not learn much today.

It's starting to dry out at the moment. The wet in general is bad news for for areo testing in general... yet McLaren are pretty good in the race, especially Button who has made some good calls in the wet so far.

:( Lewis!

I hope they have spares for the new floor and ebd.

If the box is damaged and he will get a 5 place penalty the only good thing is we will have an awesome race to watch!

JB isnt happy with his car atm either. But its wet so difficult to say whether or not updates are working I guess.

The Germans are going well here :p Hulk and Sutil. But it is only FP....

Friday doesn't count for the box change penalty though?

Yeah... not looking overly rosey for McLaren at the moment...... Schumacher 5 seconds slower than Rosberg at the moment, that's got to hurt.

yup Jim! You are right, it only counts in FP3 and beyond so thanks :)!

The car should for fixed for FP2 but will it be worth it to go out?

Rain tomorrow and a dry Sunday will produce an awesome race, and I persume tyre problems left, right and centre :p!

Here we go, Rosberg has shown MS for what he is, and Mercedes have had the audacity to change the car to suit MS and then they go backwards!

Having a laugh that MS believes he can win the Championship in 2011, he's poor in 2010 (based on his previous standards) because he's got a car just like those around him & age too has crept up on him. If you do though look back at his previous standards, he was champion when he had a car that out performed everyone. When the opposition caught up or were close he had trouble & let's list them:

Damon Hill - Errmmm I didn't know he was there.
Jacque Villeneuve - Errmmm I still didn't know he was there.
Mika Hakkinen - I never saw him so I couldn't crash into him.
Fernando Alonso - I can't crash in to him so I'll park it in Monaco....

Yes statistically he's the best with most Titles, Wins & Poles, but some of those years he was unopposed by other drivers (including a team mate who wasn't allowed to overtake/win - Austria 02). When he was really challenged & he had to show his metal, instead the evil streak came out and we all came to see what MS was all about......

Onto another subject:

As for Germany today, 1st practice and Lewis Tank Slaps it into the barrier, and on drying track Sutil shows his increasing worth, Massa shows even with a good time, he has to spin it 3 times to get it & Jenson just strolls on with a decent 3rd.

I hope it rains all weekend.......

First look @ Lewis' Car for the start of 2nd Practice, and there is no floor on it, and no set-up wheels on the back, so he's going to miss about 45 to 60 minutes if not more of the session, terrible for working on the new diffuser....

OFF:

It seems Ferrari used the Tobacco-livery again. The question is where... As far as I know it is banned almost everywhere. Do you have any further information about it? :/

Alonso, Vettel & Massa for 2nd Practice.

Lewis did get out near the end and got 7th fastest.

Do like Chandhok in the commentary box on the BBC Red Button/Web service, his technical knowledge does show up the BBC team...& his insights are fantastic.....

Yeah look at the background there are cars with Marlboro logo too, so this must be some pre season testing session or promotion

he was good, and his 'f1 geek-off' with Ted Kravitz in FP1 was hilarious.

I got to say I was keeping an eye on JB's times verses Webber's when they were both on the option and the Mclaren looked strong! They were quicker in S2, but slower in S1 (just) and abit slower in S3, but their speed in S2 (straights-braking) made up for their speed in S3.

I reckon we are going to see literally a titanic battle of Ferrari v's RBR v's Mclaren! I wasnt keeping an eye on either Ferrari on their times but you could visually see they were good.

MW said in the press-release they focussed on long run performance with heavy loads and will do qualifying sims tomorrrow... Looking like a good fight at the front. Merc dont seem too far off either!!!

If it's dry on Sunday I think we could see a Turkey like race at the front but with Ferrari and maybe Nico involved too!

Williams also looked strong, as does Sutil! But on Williams, this turn around in pace is awesome!! I could excuse Valencia and Silverstone as "flukes" but they look as awesome here :D:D!

edit -

[news.bbc.co.uk]

okay, so high and low fuel apparently. low fuel was in the earlier part of the session when track was still damp by the sounds of it.
