A few interesting incidents, but thoroughly predictable race in terms of the overall result. Webber just in a class of one out there.

Standout of the race, Kubica at the start. The twitching, god, that was some tight driving!

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it
WOHOO Webber fantastic race from him, dominated like Kimi in 2005 despitate all the safetycar situations :) Webber is the man to beat now.
Schumi overtook Alonso in the end LOL :D
LOL Schumacher! You sly old fox ;)

Kolles wrestled the team onto the grid? I think you'll find that was Bernies doing. All Kolles is done is act like a child.

Of course the car is slow. It went 3 months with no development, until HRT actually paid them. And then Kolles expected Dallara to continue development without further payment.

Sorry, Dallara have done nothing wrong. The fact Klien is going out there and finding half a second without setting up the car shows just how far off the pace the drivers are. And this isn't taking into account that neither of them can actually set up a car either. Given these sort of restrictions, time frames, cash flow problems, and rookie drivers, no chassis manufacturer would be any better than this.

Oh, and this is the second time Kolles has done this to Dallara btw. Expected them to continue development of the R10 for Audi when Audi sold them privateer units. They sat and bitched the R10 wasn't good enough, despite it winning Le Mans in other peoples hands. Kolles is one of the most dodgy, corrupt men in motorsport at the moment.

Yet illegal.

nope shouldnt be, rules changed this year and you can overtake before finnish line and plus Alonso did do a mistake.

rules:

With the following exceptions, overtaking is forbidden until the cars reach the first safety car line after the safety car has returned to the pits. Overtaking will only be permitted under the following circumstances :
- if a car is signalled to do so from the safety car ;
- under 40.14 below ;
- any car entering the pits may pass another car or the safety car remaining on the track after it has crossed the first safety car line ;
- any car leaving the pits may be overtaken by another car on the track before it crosses the second safety car line ;
- when the safety car is returning to the pits it may be overtaken by cars on the track once it has crossed the first safety car line ;
- any car stopping in its designated garage area whilst the safety car is using the pit lane (see 40.10 below) may be overtaken ;
- if any car slows with an obvious problem.

Apparently if the Safety Car comes in on the last lap then you cannot pass after the safety car line

So Nick is right, an illegal move

Races: 163 - Wins: 23 - Pole Positions: 24 - Fastest Laps: 22
Season 9: Constructors' Champions
yup, completely legal for 2010 regulations. Here's a piece from formula1.com...

"When the safety car is ready to leave the circuit it extinguishes its orange lights, indicating to the drivers that it will peel off into the pits at the end of the current lap. The drivers then continue in formation until they cross the first safety-car line where green lights will indicate that they are free to race again."

they can now race after the safety car line, not like the previous years where they have to wait to cross the start/finish line
Correct. The safety car came in on the last lap (the race did not finish under SC), and from this year on overtaking is allowed AFTER the safety car line, and in Monaco that line is at the pit lane entrance. So overtaking was allowed AFTER the pit lane entrance. There were even green flags.
No, not legal.

*U40.13U If the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed it will enter the pit lane at the end of the last lap and the cars will take the chequered flag as normal without overtaking.

but safety car was called in! and there were green flags so overtaking was allowed :) here is a pic showing it was green light [img39.imageshack.us]

It seems legal to me due to the message "safety car in this lap". That suggests that the race did not finish under the safety car but was allowed to go green before the line. That would be different to still being in a "safety car period" until the chequered flag and the safety car pitting in to let the cars take the flag in their positions.
