well, guys kubica reminds me so much of H.H.Frentzen in 1999. He is in the fastest car after the top teams.
Makes the most of everyones retirement
And he is extremely good in rain conditions (remember france 99)
If he keeps up the good pace expect this topic to go on..... ;)
and i really hope he does well because this season is cruciual for his career :) (however i am still fanatic M.S. fan) CHEEERS !

Many journalists seem to consider him one of the best drivers in the field, and apparently a lot of team bosses share that opinion.

Last year, Kubica wasn't particularly impressive, being regularly behind Heidfeld. It looked like he didn't quite have the ability to drag a bad car up into the points, like Alonso did with Renault. However, Kubica has been brilliant this year so far. Of course Renault's usual situation of team-mate inequality exaggerates his success, but he has still taken the Renault places I thought it couldn't go, and it looks like they are close to Mercedes already.

It would have been nice to have seen Renault get Kovalainen, Glock, Trulli, Heidfeld etc. to get a better marker of Kubica's performance, and also to give us another reasonably competitive car.

IMHO it will be Vettel and Kubica as Ferrari teammates sometime in their careers. Maybe 2012 or 2013 when Alonso retires and Massa leaves or retires.

Alonso and Massa, unless they lose the desire to win, will be in F1 longer than that. They certainly are capable of going on much longer than that.

OK, 2015, 2016, 2017, maybe 2018 or 2019.

IMHO Massa had best hope there is life after Ferrari...

I can see him leaving at the end of this season if Ferrari want to open their wallet to try and lure Kubica or Vettel to partner Alonso in 2011.

Is that really likely? Alonso will surely assume the status of number one over a little time and Massa will be the ideal back up driver. They are unlikely to achieve better two car scores in races next year with Vettel or Kubica. Massa knows the team very well having been there so long. He is also likely to be a bit cheaper.

everybody is link with Ferrari whenever you do relatively well

but i doubt it'll happen, they sack Kimi because they wanted Alonso, and so far is proven to be a spot on choice, but they don't really need Kubica, they already have the best driver, why gamble on something else?, besides with Alonso they have a latin, and with Massa they have a half italian, is quite a perfect combination for them

Well they are paying an awful amount to NOT race their cars.

What a life... Getting £15million or so to go race some jumped up hatchbacks on dirt :p

Kubica feels sad, unsuprisingly, about the loss of most of Poland's leaders (President and his wife, amongst others).

The Prime Minister and his wife are fine. The president and his wife are dead. I arrived at the University of Warsaw yesterday around 9:00 am of local time to attend the lectures and I actually eyewitnessed all the tragedy. I saw all the people coming round as the university is located only a few-minute walk away from the President's Palace.
Strangely, I found out about the crash from a Nepalese friend of my friend who sent her a text. I thought to myself "Yeah, that's another of those bad jokes about our president. How could anyone have come up with something so terribly nasty and disgusting?" A few minutes later, during the lecture on fantasy literature, we all started checking the news with our mobile phones....unfortunately, whichever news service we entered, the news was the same. After all the lectures finished we came to the Palace to pay the tribute. I didn't actually wholeheartedly support the deceased president's policy but when I look at the headline: "The coffin with the remains of Lech Kaczynski brought back to Warsaw" I feel as if I'm watching a really sad movie. I share the grief but I still can't believe it...It's just like a motion picture to me. What I'm looking for are the credits after the final scene...unfortunately, the only names which I see after the final scene are the names of 96 people who died in the crash.

That's one of those fateful days, when asked about it in 40 years, I will forever remember what I actually was doing and where I was when I found out about it.

Of course, John Paul II died, too. But he was old an terminally ill - a few days before his death everyone knew it'd happen...
Here, the crash took the lives of the president, his wife, all the leaders of the Polish Army and dozens of politicians (I still remember one of them, Mr Gosiewski, whom I passed on the street some two months from now when he was on a walk with his three small children, who are now half-orphans)

Sorry for that off-topic...I'm Polish and I had to say that.

Well, Kubica didn't have much of luck in the previous season. BMW wasn't a great team. I think that he'd really do well in Ferrari but, as you guys say, it's not likely for him to get transferred to Ferrari now. However, the season has just started and we don't know whether he's going to keep his shape up or not. At the point Kubica might be the champion as well as the mid-grid driver. Time will show whether he's worth of driving for Ferrari.

Sorry I meant President, really sorry for the PM! Mistaking PM for president! Will change my post above.

Thanks abdelkader for pointing this out.

Indeed, it was unique. Up until now, on the occasions of nationwide mourning, I would only sit back in front of the tv screen devouring the info flowing from the tragedy sites. Of course, I would cry but it was just that...This time it was different. For the first time I really took part in the mass grief of the unpenetrable crowds of people heading down to the Palace. One of the most striking things were the Polish flags waving here and there, with black ribbons attached.

I arrived in Warsaw EXACTLY at the time those people were dying...Me and my friends were all curious about the reason for which there was much more police around the place than usually. We found the answer only about 15 minutes after the question was even asked. Throughout the whole day we knew nothing about the details of the crash. We somehow tried to put it aside to release the tension: we would joke and laugh but in the evening, after the lectures finished, it all ended - as soon as we heard about the details, there was no place for jokes anymore...I visit Warsaw extremely scarcely but I was lucky/unlucky to be there on that important day. I hope it's not going to happen in your countries, guys.
