yup, I also counted it myself after seeing star sports. It would have been...

Mclaren 203 and Ferrari 204. Ferrari would have won both championships by 1 point.

Just got the info: Lewis said that the issue he had with the gears at the start was his fault. When he went to downshift he accidentally put it in neutral and it took some time to find the right gear back. So, looks like it was all his fault after all.

lol, you work for ITV or something? if so i would like to make a formal complaint about the quality of todays broadcast, especially the race build up ;). Nah seriously though, I didn't mean any offense in my remark...was just an observation :)

awesome, that legitimises Ferrari's Constructor's Championship, so hopefully no-one will say "Ferrari only won it because McLaren got thrown out bla bla bla".

and there was a bizarre stage in the race after Lewis' problems that Massa held the key to the outcome of the championship. He was 1st with Kimi 2nd, Alonso 3rd. If he stayed there and been selfish and won the race, the title would have gone to Alonso. and Alonso must have been hoping Massa would be selfish to win the race. but Felipe knows which side his bread is buttered, he knows where his loyalties lie and if losing a race would allow his team to pick up a championship, he'd do it. but that may be a slippery road down the Barrichello-route of being the default no.2 driver from next season with a reigning champion as a teammate. we'll see how the equality is shared between the Ferrari drivers next season.

the 24 stuff was rubbish, IMO.

and the commentary was woeful from James at some points. yes he's British and ITV is a British channel, but there was little or no impartiality in most of his comments which reflects badly when it's being beemed around the world.

Blundell put it best, there's no disgrace in Lewis not winning, there'll be more opportunities for him.

at least we don't have to put up with Hamilton-is-champion hype for 4 or 5 months, that would have been unbearable for those of us who are not his fanboys.

and Nakajima - what a joker.

@muks

yeah muks agree massa gave the victory to raikkonen cuz he needed it to be champ , but it doesnt means he is no2 driver (altough the 2008 number in his car) he was out of the fight thats totally normal and show his maturity

but anyways and if massa needs kimi nxt year ? youll see that kimi will prolly do the same thing we saw this year

the embrace at the end between them and kimi trying to cheer him show that both drivers are fantastic .ferrari is strong to 2008 if it depends of them.

A bit unfair, I saw nothing wrong with his race apart from the incident in the pits, even Schumacher has run over his mechanics before. I thought on the whole he performed well for a driver thrown in at the deep-end at an unfamiliar circuit.

Well done to Kimi today, I've had the strange feeling for a long time that Hamilton wouldn't win. Hopefully next season we can do without all the extra baggage that 2007 has come with.

yeah i would hope Kimi would re-pay the favour if it came to it (i'm sure he would, he doesn't seem egotistical in the way Alonso does, for example).

but if Kimi starts beating Felipe early on next season, maybe the mentality in the team would be that Kimi is no.1, Felipe is no.2, added to the fact that Kimi is the champion. it will be difficult for the whole team to view both drivers equally the way they did through the 2007 season, IMO.

@ Count Bazley, yeah I may have been a bit unfair on Kazuki, but first race, first pitstop, you'd think he'd take it calmly to make sure it went without incident.

@ Jawwad, yeah Kimi *seems* to have won it fair and square, but did Felipe do anything to help him? I thought after the stops Massa would still be ahead and then he'd just let Kimi by. how did it work out that Kimi beat him after his 2nd stop? did i miss something?

well deserved title for kimi.massa was driving pretty hard but i think he was told by ferrari to keep alonso behind him and he had to push hard.good teamwork by ferrari which shows that f1 is a team sport.

ferrari won the constructors title fair and square.points dont matter its the rules that matter.mclaren cheated and got what they deserved which is nothing in this years championship.

"at least we don't have to put up with Hamilton-is-champion hype for 4 or 5 months, that would have been unbearable for thoser of us who are not his fanboys".

thats the only reason i dont want a british driver to win anything.the british media drives me mad.

I think Kimi would repay the favour, and that's why I prefer someone like him over Alonso.

I abosolutely died of laughter when Nakajima ran over the pitcrew. I was sad to see Alex leave, but I think Kazuki could be a barrel of laughs.

Anyway, kudos to all the drivers, 2007 was much more exciting than 2006.
