mclarenaustralia, what was that you said about murdering someone? ;)

I'm not satisfied that Marussia got beaten by Caterham!!! :-(

But Button won - big shame with Hulk and Lewis - I really wanted to see Hulk win :(

I enjoyed that. Not the outcome I wanted, but hey, it was an absolute classic race.

Totally agreed ;-) I'm almost in tears now - that was such a race!

Gah! Not the result I wanted - I think a triple world champion status flatters Vettel slightly but facts are facts and nobody has been able to beat him.

Awesome, awesome year - let's have another one in 2013 with a slight driver shakeup :)

What an afternoon. Insanity encapsulated in an F1 race.
Congratulations to Sebastian Vettel, youngest triple Champion!

The look in Fernando's eyes before he took his helmet off said it all. I feel for him too.

"Insanity" is definitely the word ;)

Augh! I so wanted to see Hulk and Force India win :(

Good:
Hulkenberg was (mostly) fantastic!
Button won (I'm a Brit, whaddya expect?)
Massa on the podium
F1 laugh of the year (Thanks, Kimi!)
What a race!!

Bad:
Vettel won championship, again!
Hulkenberg + Hamilton collided
Di Resta crashed
Caterham beat Marussia

Massa has been on fire last few races. I hope he starts next year in better shape.

Grosjean cost Alonso the championship.

it's the only variant outside his control that i can think of for the whole year., thank you Grosjean, now @#$%& off!

congratulations to Seb, he drove Newey's car the best possible way and only Alonso was better than him in terms of ultimate performance for the whole year.
i honestly tought Alonso was going to win it, everything pointed out, i'm glad we had the conditions we had, a lot of drama a lot of tension for what seemed a boring definition of the championship just 5 mins before the start. but again Alonso made a stunning start and the whole thing started.

now wait 5 or more months for the next race is going to be an eternity for me!

Yep. He's finally started getting his self-confidence back, which is great to see.

absolutly gutted with this @#$%&. start perfect and i thaught hes out. but no lady luck visits again and like nothing happend he continues.

race itself was the epic thriller i was saying in first post ^^. in my heart Fernando is the 2012 F1 champion (aswell as 2010) but thats offtopic.

Next year i wanna see those 2 Red dressed man a lot more on the podium.

Only Kimi could get lost and end up on another track. :D

Can I just say that Massa was fantastic today. His controlling of the cars at the start of the race was like watching Schumacher at Sepang in 1999, or Schumacher orchestrating Irvine move on Hakkinen at Suzuka in 1997.

His pace too was excellent. Really hope he can carry this form into 2013, as I was pleading for Ferrari to replace him next year and he was an embarrassment to himself earlier in the year.

A great race, with tension for the duration (well, apart from the last lap). It was set up so well by Bruno. You always felt that Vettel would do enough, but boy was a it tense. His double tyre change after his radio failed set it all up again.

Absolute cracker, but Interlagos usually delivers.

Gutted for Hulkenberg. That was a quality drive, slightly harsh penalty as it was a pure racing accident. Brilliant comeback by Vettel considering he was almost wiped out by today's numpty. Unlucky for Hamilton. Good stuff by Button but in reality today he was P3.

Footnote, Alonso has worked miracles all year, to only be 4 points away from winning the championship in that car which was never the quickest at any point this year is a hell of a achievement.

What's going on with BBC commentary team next year? Is Jake Humphrey (Shakey Jake) going somewhere else? Who's replacing him? Someone said there was something about Bernie... Take it that was a joke ???

The yellow flag was a Pirelli flag apparently.

Sebastian was unreal today. I seriously don't know how anyone can question how good he actually is. Driving that wounded Red Bull through the field.

Commiserations to Alonso, he has been epic all year, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Hopefully we see a massive battle between Red Bull, Ferrari, Mclaren and Lotus in 2013.

Great to see Massa and Hulk have such strong races. Pity he had the accident with Hamilton. Don't think he deserved a drive-through tbh.

Great coverage by the BBC once again. Interestingly they said that they would be live at all races next year. Anyone else pick up on that?

My wish-list for next year:
1) Anyone except Vettel becomes champion!!
2) Hulkenberg to win a race in the Sauber
3) Marussia to stick two fingers up at Caterham

I think that was probably an error.

I don't remember it exactly, but I'm sure it was something along the lines of "follow it all live on the BBC", which is true, as they've got the website coverage and 5 Live.

Humphrey is off to present BT Vision's live football next year, which is understandable as his wife is pregnant, and he's won't want to galavanting around the world.

The Bernie thing comes from the end of the broadcast - they did a "Doctor Who" thing and replaced Humphrey with Ecclestone.

I guess the favourite is still Lee McKenzie. :)
