It means nothing, lol. It is the least meaningful pole of the year. It should be a Chevrolet on pole, and it's pot luck which one.

Aren't most NASCAR poles meaningless, except for the 0.5 mile ovals and the road courses? ;)

Still, pole is pole, and it's a few guaranteed points, and possibly one for leading a lap if he keeps at the head of the field.

No? Only 2 circuits are completely flat out (due to the RP) and Talladega is one of them. So the pole is meaningless.

You guaranteed points in every NASCAR race btw.

I mean more points than what you get just for racing. ;-)

You don't get points for pole, lol. You get points for leading laps, and if he doesn't lead lap 1 he won't get those 5 points. Not that 5 makes a difference when you get 180 for winning and 34 for last.

It's been a while since I watched NASCAR, and I was sure it was a point or 2 for pole!!! ;)

A few spectators injured. Non life-threatening thank goodness. Its never good to see a car go up into the fence like that.

Second time this year NASCAR has screwed JPM, but this time it was even more a blatant fix. Pit lane speeding, whilst leading, going slower than he was before, and slower than the cars around him?

Get f**ked. I am not paying to watch races where NASCAR decides who is going to win and lose. They got the result they wanted. A close finish and Johnson taking the flag.

Sorry about that. Unfortunately I can't edit the title, and I didn't think it was worth a new thread.

In all honesty it was one of the most boring races of any series that I've ever seen. No passing, not even any close running.

They should leave Indianapolis to the open wheelers. Run the Cup cars at IRP.

i saw the cup cars there at Indy back in '04 when Nascar cars were awesome, unlike these COTs. Double good as my fav driver no. 24 Jeff Gordon won as well - nice bonus. We were sat in the mini straight between turns 3+4. Also saw the Busch series at IRP which was also very cool, sat on the start finish straight.
