To allow the cars to look more like the road going versions (not exact copies, obviously, just some of the main features), NASCAR will equalise the cars.

For those who haven't seen it, the Mustang also looks awesome.

That dodge (charger??) looks alot better! wow.

edit- oh just saw qualifying cancelled for the race. I hope its as much a lottery as ive read because I really want JPM to have a chance going into the final races :)!

NASCAR want to avoid crashes like the big one that sent Edwards into the fence earlier in the year.

Qualifying is set by championship position when cancelled, so he starts 5th anyway.

Oh, and you can't ban blocking at restrictor plate racing. It doesn't work like that.

Watching it now! Shame about the lack of racing but this looks insane! Enjoying it! Watching them 3 wide at 190mph!

Alot of complaints about the racing on Atlas... my first experience of the track and that type of racing. Aside from the 1 lane stuff I thought the rest was pretty good.

I quite liked the idea of going 1st to 30th or 30th to 1st within a matter of laps. I enjoyed the kinda random aspect... Shame about the two final crashes though, would have prefered a clean run to the end. Still with 3 races left I think Montoya still has a good shot at 2nd overal, but he's closer to 10th than he is 1st i think. Johnson lucky but isnt that just a product of the track?

it is, but the guy spent 180 laps out of the 186 on the back, and then the final 3 laps, all of his rivals, who where racing in the front the whole time get out of contention... i guess that's the luck of the champion ins't it?

it is a product of the track, but it is still luck.

Terrible race, and to make it worse its terrible for the championship battle.

Bumpage just to get the spoiler out of the forum. Shame Johnson got lucky *again*, part of me wants a couple non-finishes from him to liven things up.

Montoya linesup 20th for race on Sunday. Its quite funny how in F1 qualifying is everything and I probably get more excited/pumped up for that rather than the race yet for this does qualifying even matter????

All I hope this weekend is a good strong finish from Monty! Dont think he or anyone will catch Johnson but I do hope Monty can secure a top 3 overal in the standings! I more so hope he can carry through to next year and be a regular contender :D. Oh, and before the seasons out an oval win would be fantastic to set him up for the new season!!

Going by this year, what are the chances of him and his team being able to keep it up for next year? I guess he's gonna stay with that team but who's gonna be his team-mate next year?

Its painful to see a driver as talented as Hornish Jnr struggle so much race after race. I guess that just gives an idea of how difficult these cars must be.

an okay race in the end... shame about Ambrose though!

Montoya looked to have messed up himself there, racing incident i think but a great shame, he had a car capable of top 5/6 i thought! looking forward to next week!

How so? He has had a brilliant year. It's embarrassing how far ahead of all the other EGR cars he is.
