But that does not work either. I was always using the same exe to read the replay, something without even quitting the game. I'm wondering if it's also corrupted in memory, or only when youby zifox - Grand Prix 4
The reduce with speed option is a sensitivity setting, not a force feedback one, I don't understand how it could have some effect ?by zifox - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for the tip. I did a few tests. The exe I use has no modifications apart from camera positions, so I replaced it by an original one and tried to see if anything changes. It was the same. I tried with an non-modded install (original cars/tracks), same behavior. Then I tried loading the replay without gpxpatch, and the replay crashes quite quickly, at lap 2 (instead of 12). Maybe gpxpatcby zifox - Grand Prix 4
Thanks a lot. I'm not familiar with csm, what does the ini option patch in the gp4 binary ?by zifox - Grand Prix 4
Great work, it does look oldschool, i love it ! How did you manage to have skidmarks in the "chicane" ? Transparent texture over the track ?by zifox - Grand Prix 4
Ok so it seems that the DLL for gp4tweaker doesn't support the same tweaks as the GUI version does, but even looking at the dll version, I don't think there is something to fix my issue.by zifox - Grand Prix 4
Hi, I have an issue I can't solved at the moment: my replays get corrupted. Max replay length is set to 1h30min. I've done 4 full races so far and every single replay I load is corrupted: sometime early in the race, sometimes late. My car decides to live it's own life, goes of track an hit a wall, as if it was desynchronised. IA cars are not affected. Where do these corruptiby zifox - Grand Prix 4
As I mentionned in the other thread (about season pack on ebay) I see no issue in replacing some of the ads. As you said it would be a very good idea to replace some ads by keep the main colors, to keep something that is visually coherent.by zifox - Grand Prix 4

I have a question regarding the folders using to store data: is there a limitation that would explain why the folder in which we unpack the files has to been in GP4 install ? I'm a bit short on space on the ssd on which GP4 is installed, so I figured I could move the several gigs of data that I have in "gpsaves" to another drive... but the GUI won't let me !by zifox - Grand Prix 4
@JCaranti : i'm using the same options already, thanks for sharing. @fongu: I installed GP4 Tweaker (1045CU1), and I found nothing to edit individual effects for FFB. There is a global strength option, nothing more. I read this thread: , but i don't have the same files: the only one I have in my GP4 install is gp4tweak.bin. Shoud I create the ini file by hand ?by zifox - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for the tips, i'll have a look at this tonight.by zifox - Grand Prix 4
I'm not using GP4tweaker, there's an option to handle my issue in it ?by zifox - Grand Prix 4
Hi, I had a jittering issue with the FFB on my wheel (a G27), which is related to feedback strength. It happens when no "centering force" is applied on the wheel: in straight lines, when being still on the starting grid, or when lowering the car in the pits (when the car hits the ground). My wheel oscillates around the center a lot, so much that I have difficulty keeping a straiby zifox - Grand Prix 4
From the last dump it doesn't seem to be a random CTD, it failed to load some anim data from your barcelona2005 track. I'm not an expert in understanding GP4 dumps, but it's definitely related to the track.by zifox - Grand Prix 4
Agree with Samuele, this behavior is disgusting and sad at the same time but there's nothing platforms like ebay will do. That said I doubt many people will buy it, and obviously it's raging to think that people may earn money on our work, but i don't think it's worth losing time about that. The best thing to do IMHO is to advertise GPG as much as possible in the mods, addby zifox - Grand Prix 4
I can't see the screenshot you posted, I have a SSL error (record too long). Am i the only one ?by zifox - Grand Prix 4
I have the same exact issue, even when not interacting with the replay. I don't have any core dump, the game just freezes, I tried to wait to see if it would unfreeze all by itself, but it does not, even after 10 minutes. Any help is appreciated, I can't watch a replay for more than a few minutes.by zifox - Grand Prix 4
Indeed it doesn't seem to do something wrong. I was wondering at some point if changing the sample bitrate might have an influence: some 8 bit samples are replaced by 16 bits ones with this sound update. What really puzzles me is the randomness of the crash. It happened in various cases, with no clear link. I will try to update the sound bank sample by sample and see if it crashes.by zifox - Grand Prix 4
Weird as it seems, I had the same exact issue this evening when I tried to play. Had 4 CTD during qualifications & race. Same access violation at the same address. SDI, I don't know how to manage to guess that it's related to sound, but in my case, it was. I was using GP4Sound update, I removed it and used the stock sound pack and not it's working. Hi, I've spend several days looking for sound updates and testing them, and I can't find something that I find satisfying. The default engine sound sounds weird for an engine, and sadly none of the sound packs I tested so far (including TeamBPM, GP4 sound update, 2004-2007 soundpacks and so on). There's always something that bothers me, from gear change to traction control soby zifox - Grand Prix 4
I did a few texture modifications, specifically to add some variations to the sand, many various fixes and adjustments, I think it's time to release it ! I updated the first post with a link to a beta version of the track, which will become the final version unless someone finds a huge bug. I gave up on my many modifications I wanted to do in the first place like adding displaceby zifox - Grand Prix 4
A particular page of this thread popped up in google while looking for information on cfp files, and I realized that, like the crowd flash position file, there are some bin (tarmac) files in GP4\Maps\#Track#2001. So I'm digging up this thread ! I'm wondering whether (and when) they are used ? Should I updat these files as well ? I'm puzzled by their existence, my jerez track seby zifox - Grand Prix 4
After many hours spend yet again on the pit lane exit, I think I finally got the edge of it. The bug wasn't really fixed, by coming close I could see a small gap between two textures, and knowing it was there... I had to fix it. In the end, deleting the last pitlane sector in the .dat file was not the correct solution. I have still to find the link between the pitlane sector in the .datby zifox - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for the tip, using this I tried another thing: remove only the last section of the pitlane, hoping the square that override the tyre marks would not be drawn, while not having the tarmac disappearance bug, and it worked ! I still don't understand the bug, while testing I could not pinpoint the role of the different files / sections. It seems only the pitlane in the .dat had any efby zifox - Grand Prix 4

That I know, I don't have any issue displaying the tarmac on other parts of the track. My questions is mesh/faces related: why do I have a hole in the tarmac when I removed the pit lane sectors from the .dat file, although the pitlane is complete in the .bin file, and I have also some graphic elements at the same place, as the two last screenshots show. The weirdest thing is that the hby zifox - Grand Prix 4
I did one more test which had an effect: remove the last sections of the pitlane in the .dat file, now I have a hole, despite a visually correct tarmac section in the wad. Result in game Tarmac in GP4 Builder: Graphics in GP4Builder. I'm lost. Which data is GP4 using to display the tarmac ? Any help is appreciated.by zifox - Grand Prix 4
One of the glitch I have to address is the pit lane exit: Obviously the tyre marks pattern is not applied to the pit lane section. How can I fix this ? First I removed the faces in the graphic section, it had no effect. I then try to modify the pitlane sector, but I can't edit anything that is related. I finally try to modify the pitlane sections in the tarmac file (.bin), firsby zifox - Grand Prix 4
I really had to simplify the meshes a lot to get a poly count that is acceptable, and the result is not satisfiying. I have to get rid of the creases between the tyre in the stacks, and still reduce the number of faces to create the cylinder, from 16 to 8, to stay below the max polygon count. The result is then not that different from having a single box, seen from the track, it's not woby zifox - Grand Prix 4
