My friend had an 8800 or something and he told me that they have overheating problems that mean that it ends up cracking the solder (i guess with all this no lead solder now). So much like the xbox 360, he said he could fix it for a few months if he put it in the oven for a while :/ I mean you could try it but it is rather drastic. Obviously try returns first.by Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Ah that's interesting - i have an account on avforums but probably not posted enough. I shall see. Nice for the future though. Thanks for that. He's started to get more into it now he's read the suggestions and told me he feels he will probably blow the budget now to get better so it will last longer hahahaha oh dear. So it's a dangerous situation. I imagine i'll haveby Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Oh i wonder when they changed that so it didn't allow guests to read that forum. Odd. Oh i've just realised, my link was wrong - you can read it - all the info is there: But yer the motherboard they suggested has firewire and usb 3 so might be worth it if he's willing to pay more and it's got a few more slots too. Card was a gtx 550 ti. Dunno how that compares to atiby Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Hmm the amd will probably be fine then - to be honest i don't really know much about sandy bridge, i just heard it was a big leap forward and didn't really know why. We've never really had an nvidia card before and i don't know if he'll put linux on there. The computer might be used for games as i imagine it will be a shared family computer. Ah i didn't realiseby Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Okay he says that he doesn't mind spending more just wants to get something good. I'll go through it with him later. Yer, don't pay too much attention to the zoostorm pc and specs really, as i think he just saw it and thought about getting it. Just suggest things based on your own thoughts in terms of best value/performance Certainly the extra ram should be a benefit as he sby Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Okay so my dad wants to get a new computer and was looking at this: from having a little look i would be inclined to suggest that he could probly do quite a bit better than that? or at least by buying individual components but i am not really sure? He doesn't want to spend over £500 really but obviously i whatever is the best value. Don't need a monitor or keyboard / mouse and all tby Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Okay well it's the same price for canada too The only improvement of the df gt over the momo is 900 degrees rotation and also the brake bias little wheel thing (which itself is nothing major). The pedals are exactly the same. So at your price, i'd get the carrera wheel but it's up to you. Concerning myself, i don't really know what to do in terms of getting a new wheelby Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Dunno where mortal's been looking but it's certainly been the opposite - g25s have sky-rocketed in price since the g27 came out. Previously you could easily get one for £120, and even new for £100 at one point. Personally, i'm regretting i didn't get one then, as having a momo racing with limited rotation makes tracks with tight corners rather difficult - steering hacks are reby Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
i really have no idea why you would prefer a tablet as opposed to a cheap laptop (er yer i don't know what the difference is between notebooks, netbooks and all that it just seems pointless confusing categorisation to me). £500? That is shedloads! you can buy a good desktop for that? and i imagine a good laptop? Mind you i haven't exactly looked, but even years ago, the original eeeby Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
K ordered it for less than £80 from phoning them up. Shall see how it is when it arrives Apparently the camera and fm radio are weak areas, but then that's a price that i am willing to pay for a cheap decent phone - better to get a cheap good camera. Anyway, shall be quite a change from my 3220 discolights.by Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Hmm i was looking and 3 payg seems really crap now - i didn't realise they changed it but apparently they have. It seemed really good before but now it just seems awful. I think i will go on giffgaff or something. Anyway yer, will probly go for the san francisco. The sequel to it (zte skate) will come out in may and have 800Mhz, better camera and a bigger screen (but same resolution) butby Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Ah okay i didn't think of cex - i forgot they sold phones. Mind you i've never found them particularly cheap. Most of the blogs seem sketchy with information - but i guess they don't have a lot to go on. Hmm i dunno whether to wait to see what the x5 and x3 will cost or to just get a san francisco. Also there was news of some LG Pecan being released by orange soon so i dunno whby Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Hmm well there's this site, phandroid that i found. Problem with most sites you find is they are either "pull stories off other sites and link to them add revenue money making nothings" with no content of their own or they are american market focused which doesn't really help a lot. That and everything seems contract focused too. i bet that samsung is loads though? Too bby Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
cos i sure don't. (i didn't really want to hijack the other thread cos that's not really fair, so i made a new topic er i'm not sure if that's better or worse - merge it if you want). Looking to get a phone, don't know anything about them or even anywhere you can get them for cheap. Don't even know good phone kind of "fan sites / forums". Now you aby Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Haha quite. Nice to see your threads showings such balance sir.by Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Guess whose team gets an extra player in the form of the referee every week? You are our league's manchester united. Your players are all diving cheats too. It's no surprise you've come down and done so well when the media and referees are so clearly set up to favour you. But at least you've still managed to pull it off - if you didn't with all that help, it would be trulby Daniel Knott - Other Sports

This is the worst topic ever. Why did you even think this was a good idea? Have you no shame? Even sheepy didn't do this. Incidentally you might be in luck though. Link removed, sorry had to be done.by Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Let's not make this an msater bashing thread ok. Be fair and reasonable and not too over the top and I'll leave the post up. Back OT, HNYby Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Hmm sorry i meant that to truly protest over the music industry you should not be buying either of those songs. If you want to really help the music industry, support some small local band or something. Let's face it, both choices are very commercial - at least part of the rage money goes to charity though so that's good. That said both are basically just giving money to sony. I wasnby Daniel Knott - Other Games
In this instance I agree with Morbid. I'm sorry but people that went with it after raging they would boycott when the suing happened have no integrity. Not that that is an uncommon thing nowadays. You think people would be more able to resist something that is in effect a modded nr2003. It's not even a new engine. You can tell it's based on gpl. I heard recently that the peopby Daniel Knott - Other Games
The only real problem with gpl is it has not enough low speed grip so feel like you're on ice at low speeds and wonder why there's so little grip when going slow. Also i believe that had to camber almost all the corners (if only slightly) in order to give the illusion of realistic grip levels, even if the corners weren't cambered in real life - using the track to mask the physics.by Daniel Knott - Other Games
Ok thanks, I think mine can probably do that - strange how it would work though, as the 2 boxes are for "starting port" and "ending port". So like you say, I imagine you could do 1002, 1030, 1050-1070, 1084. However I guess you cannot do 1002 - 1030, 1034, 1050 - 1070 or something, sadly ? Anyway, thanks for the helpby Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
The belkin router only gives you 20 slots in which to use for port forwarding. Yes you do it in the router, but what you are doing as far as I am aware is telling the router to consider to forward the port you define (on the router) to the private port (on the computer) of the ip you specify.by Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
Thanks, but I know how to forward ports for an individual computer The problem is only 20 slots and also what do you do if you need to forward ports for the same thing for different computers.by Daniel Knott - Off-Topic
