I wonder if you are talking about Grand Prix Legends 72. I never saw a web page about it, but it was a proposed sequel that never made it far.

Other Games Apologies if I'm flogging a dead horse here - some of this thread has been pretty horrible to read so maybe I'm repeating what's already been said.
Regarding Rosberg's qualifying incident, it was all rather odd. I think the footage 45 seconds into this clip with Coulthard's commentary is worth a watch:
As out of character and unsure as it seemed, I really think it w

F1 Couldn't resist, could you Morbid?
I've been lurking on this forum for a long long time, and recently I can't help but notice every post you make is desperate to start a debate or an argument. Sometimes it's just not called for and adds nothing to discussion.
Anyhow, as I came here to say, best wishes to Michael. His win-at-all costs mentality hasn't always done F

F1 I believe I read that the DLC content was locked in such a way that altering the textures would be impossible, I'm afraid.

Other Games Sadly the more FPS = more speed thing is true to an extent. Good old bugmasters, never let us down on that front
Anyway, I'm keen to know if there's any pc players here interested in some fairer online racing

Other Games I'm no expert, but...
The car files it could not find are probably not a big problem
The tire_manager errors appear almost all the time, even when nothing's wrong.
However clearly there's a problem with the track's MAS file. I can't help on that one I'm afraid.

Other Games Strange, I don't know what else to suggest. If none of the compatibility modes work, then F1C probably doesn't work on Windows 8

Other Games In windows 7 I think the game has to be run in compatibility mode, for Windows 98... try that (by right clicking the F1C executable) if you haven't already.

Other Games I haven't used Afterburner for recording from GP4, but I do use it in other games so I can offer the following advice:
- Choose the highest resolution your system can handle recording at. Ideally record at your game's resolution, however you may have to lower this to keep the game playable and smooth. Make sure the aspect ratio is the same as for your game's resolution.

Grand Prix 4 I haven't used Afterburner for recording from GP4, but I do use it in other games so I can offer the following advice:
- Use MJPG compression as the video format - this shouldn't impact performance too badly and gives manageable video file sizes. Quality should be 75-90% depending on how good you want the footage to look.
- Use the same framerate for your video as that which GP4 is

Grand Prix 4 Tony's long lost 67 mod is hosted here (along with his ITC 96 mod):
Edit: I believe it's a very early csm mod which should still work with ZaZ Tools

Grand Prix 4 Can I suggest that b-tone's (Tony Brick's) work in developing csm mods is mentioned? (e.g. 67, 79, 88, 05, 06, 09 empty mod, GP2, DTM, ITC 96)

Grand Prix 4 For the 11th team, the best you can do is to use gp4 tweaker to set cars 22 and 23 to be retired from the race from the start - though they'll still appear in qualifying. As for the panel, search for 'defpanel' on here - you should find one you like - and enable it through gpxpatch (gpxcinfo tab I think). Edit: e.g. here

Grand Prix 4 I had one a while ago and it sort-of worked on the ps3 just plugged in via usb (sensitivity and force-feedback were often a bit dodgy though), but I doubt it would work on the xbox.

Grand Prix 4 Even if it were, the time that would take would almost certainly make it impossible to play due to lag - and I'm not convinced it would be possible anyway without modifying the game's code.

Grand Prix 4 Well the Q6600 is as gav says still a very good cpu, and you have a suberb graphics card, so there must be something seriously wrong somewhere else, either software or hardware, if you've noticed no improvement. Certainly getting a new computer would be a waste considering the components you've already bought. Could you give the computer's full spec (motherboard, memory, hard dri

Off-Topic CPU = central processing unit, ie processor (google could have told you that though)
tbh, both Nascar 2003 and GP4 are really old and are not necessarily going to benefit from such a strong graphics card as much as any new games would, but you certainly should notice a significant improvement all the same.

Off-Topic Wow, going from a Nvidia 9800 to an HD 6970 with no improvement? Are you sure? I can only assume your CPU is the bottleneck, but I can't think how that would be possible with any cpu from the last few years really. What CPU do you have?
Can't help regarding the CCC I'm afraid, other than suggesting trying an older version (or newer if you installed it from an included disc).

Off-Topic I agree with the above. I know what you mean about the occasional awkwardness of the viewpoint with obstacles but I thought the camera control (right stick) was responsive enough for it not to be a problem. If the PC version is properly optimised I can see me ploughing more time into it than I even did with GTA IV (one of my favourite games ever).

F1 Regarding the problem of indestructable bollards/boards, I believe that can be fixed by changing a setting that you can alter in the graphics config file (with everything on high I've not had the problem) - it's been mentioned on the Codemasters forums a few times.
Also, apparently they had worked on a better damage model (seen by a few in an early beta) but were restricted by their

Other Games You can also set environment maps to static in the options menu which greatly reduces how shiny the cars look - though you'll loose the reflections of trackside objects on cars, so the best way is what neilcaine said above.

Grand Prix 4 Looks a good system
Make sure to get the i5 2500K though, the price is similar to the 2500 but there's the massive advantage of an unlocked multiplier so it can be overclocked (past Intel's small speed increases under load).
Can't comment on the sound card, but it seems pretty expensive so obviously I can recommend researching if it's good value etc. - the same applies

Grand Prix 4 To clarify, it looks like the F1 HD channel will be available to all Sky HD subscribers even if they don't have a Sky Sports subscription.
Also, according to Virgin Media's website they are looking into negotiating with Sky to show the channel too.
