First, thanks for the mod Schumi24. Always nicely done and your efforts are very much appreciated. @ Locke123 For what it's worth, here's my 2 cents. Looks to me like the 93 trackpack MD for Montreal is actually ported straight over from 2001 more or less and it would definitely benefit from some adjustment. If laptime value in the MD is set to the 2001 value (75780) - minby Noog - Grand Prix 4

Hi All, It's a long time since I posted, but I heard there were some new users around: so hello and a warm welcome to you! Hope you've been having fun. Recently I've been reflecting on my learning curve with regard to this magnificent game and I decided to make a post to promote a valuable shortcut/tool/tweak which has been around for years. It's something that new uby Noog - Grand Prix 4

Only this one. Assen v2.zip I have some of the other circuits but none are marked v2. The links in the OP were already pretty broken by the time I got there. Isn't Jacarepagua with that loading screen a v2 though? I have that if you want it.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
There you go, Buenos Aires v2. Judging by the timestamp on the wad I've probably made some slight texture edits in the past but as far as I remember it's pretty stock. BuenosAiresV2.zipby Noog - Grand Prix 4

Congratulations on getting it finished. You've worked hard and done a fine job of bringing this grand old layout to life. Thanks for sharing it with us.by Noog - Grand Prix 4

Hi, Not sure if this will work if you're loading a saved game, but if you have a folder called gp4_tweakdata, look for the numcars.ini file and edit that, replacing the appropriate 1's with 0's. At least it should be able to leave him out of the next race(s).by Noog - Grand Prix 4
Speechless. Beautiful pics. "lie down as if I were a torpedo ready to be expelled from a submarine". Another marvellous turn of phrase. (Before I start, apologies for long post, but I think you might find it interesting). Generally I only race 17% races Tom. I know that skews things a bit, but I have to sleep etc and I'm hoping that when (if) I can pin the mathematics down it's easy to extend the principles out to 100% races. I did make some progress yesterday. On the basis of the 520/140000 midpoint giving a niceby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Technically, it will be first Grand Prix in the Netherlands in 2020. Not the first ever perhaps, but the first in 2020 for sure. And as for human memory, what is a Netherlands? I heard it was a swamp populated with wild animals until the dinosaurs died out some time in the last century. Just before the time we invented technology I think. Hey Pont. You got that track ready yet? (Sorry duby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Sounds like a nice set up. Three screens too. Very nice indeed. I've never had anything like a proper racing rig myself although I did once have a few goes in someone else's; but the seat could be raised or lowered and adjusted in relation to the pedals (for his children) which I thought was a nice touch. A quick update: Here's my latest test. All CC cars, 14000, 520, no failure, no variability. All player cars 520, no failure, no variability. Player car grip: Andrett: 13750 Peterson: 13725 Laffite: 13700 Jabouille: 13675 Judging by yesterday's results I expected Andretti to be first, or near to it, with Peterson 7th or thereabouts, Laffite 14th and Jabouiby Noog - Grand Prix 4

Yes, it would do - but you see that panel at the top of your screen? You can put the PO in there instead. Open GPxPatch, go to the GPxCInfo tab and double click the entry that says defpanel.ini Now click on the 'new' icon directly under where it says Info Items Scroll to the bottom half and select PO. Once done, click OK and you should now have the PO permanently in the paneby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Open the f1graphics.cfg file in your GP4 folder. Make sure the top line says this: 1 ; f1graphics.cfg controls all settings (default 0) Then further down, make sure this line reads: 0 ; Enable sky messages Now, if the game still works, you should have lost the unwanted rev counter and the timer at the top of the screen. No takers eh? Oh well. Here's what I THINK I've learned over the last 48hrs. I tried to be as as concise as I could and I hope it's of use to someone. In relation to the OP, the problem is as much to do with grip as it is power. A player car with a power rating equal to all other cars but with low grip rating will accelerate more slowly off the line than the others. Tby Noog - Grand Prix 4
