I also have it turned to use only one processor because it is said to cause less CTD I believe. I might just try out the 'All' option. Trial and error.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
That was my dilemma too a few days ago when I compiled my own 2009 CSM mod. I have chosen Craigo's because it had covered tyres and slightly more realistic nosecone. Although I have had to adjust the tyre positions via Tweaker.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Okay I have tested your solution extensively and it gave this very strange result. First loading is fast approx. 30 seconds and is independent from track, then from then on it's still slow like hell (2 minutes average!). Strange.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Wow!! Thank you very much. It works like a charm now. Well not 25x but maybe 10-15 times faster now. I have tweaked f1graphics.cfg before (I mean I have the first line on 1 and set the visor filters and the anisotropic filtering etc.) but I thought this would slow down the game. As it turned out it's exactly the opposite. Thanks again.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Hi! I would like to know what do the loading times depend on? My out-of-box GP4 loads quite fast it needs about 15 seconds, but with my new 2009 CSM mod it takes more than 1 minute (!) to load a track - even a free practice session on which there's only one car. It doesn't matter which track I use (original or new hi res tracks). In spite of this when it does load in it works qby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Ok I'm sorry I was just a little bit frustrated. People come here ask in capitals, and in a kind of rude way and still they get answers often very soon. Sometimes I read their posts and wonder how could you be so calm in spite of this. Now I wanted to be as polite as I can, and I tried my best in terms of English (and although I just took an oral exam yesterday I was not pleased with mby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Use GpXPatch. On the GpXSAT tab choose Digital 2004 version. You have to put all the .tga files you have just downloaded to the Grand Prix 4\gpxpatch\gfx folder. Good luck!by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
I managed to solve the problem. Anyway thanks for your fast, kind, and helpful suggestions! *Full of sarcasm*by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
In the afternoon I've started building this personal 2009 CSM Mod based upon 2009 Empty Mod. Everything is fine, the cars, the helmets, the tyres, etc. I've only run into trouble in two cases. 1) I can't get the heads-up display to work. I use the GpXPatch -> GpXCInfo tab in CSM and browsing to the GpxPatch folder of the mod. Then I select RevCounter-small.ini into slotby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
But there's a fantastic Brawn BGP 001 released by Craigo and Kizz I believe!by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
interesting topic! usually i just drive some quickraces for fun (5%). but every once and a while i do a whole weekend. i start with a free practice to get the correct setup. (this usually takes longer than the race itsself!) then i head to non champ race start quali and race on 100% race distance on ace difficulty with keyboard. (i have a steering wheel too but im too lazy to set it up :p)by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4

amazing. what if i want to use it for the real 2009 season? mind you only half points were given in malaysia due to the pouring rain. i guess it is 'not compatibile' then. :pby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
wow. just wow. ive just tried it out and all i want to say is thank you for this amazing work. a couple of days ago i took a look around the gp4 builder and i could easily imagine how much work and time need to be dedicated to a single track update. so thank you again.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Kimi-The-Champ Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > what you mean with generic performance? > > @ pimpones: > i use the standart GP4 physik with some little > tweak on crashes. its kind of an average performance. if you use a generic performance it wont that obvious that for example the bmw's are strong in australia, and are nowhere neaby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
looks amazing! you must have some very serious graphics card if those are really unedited. what card are you using?by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
those helmets are not included in the wad. probably because the folks at infogrames changed something on them and were too lazy too place them in the wad again. they are located in the gp4/cars folder i guess. change those ones.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
what a surprise! i havent seen this coming. thank you very much. it looks great! though i have less than 24 hours to prepare for an exam i definitely try this one out now.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
i have gpl and it works like a charm in vista. you need the power monger tool and the v1.2.0.2 version and thats all i think.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
wow. that was actually one of the most arrogant way of asking for something. i wonder why you guys (fongu, daimon, mortal, etc.) even help out these folks...by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
i liked the old one better. this one looks too sharp for me (based upon the screenshots).by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
hi. i play gp4 for almost 8 years. i got hooked on the f1virtual tracks they are amazing, one of the highest quality. i have had problems but usually i have managed to solve them. but not this time. i still cant make this track work in game. despite of the new release. i have read this topic extensively, installed the latest nvidia drivers (i have a notebook and a quite old geforce 8400m g), tby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
awesome work. congrats! you were accurate, quick and informative. best wishes and can't wait for the release!by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
ive been testing your physics file for a while in barcelona. its very interesting and it makes a huge difference from the original, or from the previous years. with the original setup the car is more tricky to drive. it feels like a bit nervy. up to now ive managed to adjust the setup for my driving style, but i still have some problems with the back at the corner entrances. so i think theby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
the dark background under the "brake" is missing. also it would be better if you had placed the battery image a little lower. otherwise fantastic work keep it up mate!by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
it is amazing to drive on this track. from redgate to mcleans - the best series of corners in the world. so sweepy. two little issues: 1) pit lane exit - yeah, i thought my first lap is over here. i almost ran off. 2) at the dunlop bridge, on the way to coppice there is some elevation problem, i loose speed on that straight. strange. i think the new complex which will bee added when f1by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
