Thanks for all the tips Sunil, I've upgraded the ram from 512 to 1.5gb anyway and tweaked with the settings as you suggested. I now have the game running at 25fps with all the graphics options on full/high etc, lovely stuff! Unfortunately the best I can get a modded GP4 to run is 15fps so I'm sticking with the original game for now until I have any spare cash to blow on a dedicaby badgerf1 - Grand Prix 4
thanks, the machine is a 2.6ghz P4 with 512mb of ram. I'll be upgrading the ram soon - cheap! so hopefully that will help.by badgerf1 - Grand Prix 4
Hi everyone So I was very happy this morning to have by nVidia FX5200 256mb gfx card arrive to go in my ex-business HP desktop. Installed no problems at all but GP4 doesn't seem to run much better than it did previously with the onboard video card which is somewhat annoying. I'm just running the orig game for now, haven't tried the 06 mod yet (killed my machine before) so caby badgerf1 - Grand Prix 4
I only recently rediscovered GP4 and during the last couple of weeks I've acquired a spare PC from work, stuck in a nice 256mb nvidia card and connected it to the 42" screen in my lounge. The Formula Force wheel quickly followed and I found my old beanbag which makes a great racing seat. After much thought I have now spun the coffee table round long ways in front of the telly with pedby badgerf1 - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for your help msater. Looking forward to your qualy mod. You're not going to try and turn Fri, Sat Practice and Qualy into the three rounds are you? I there was a way of telling GP4 to exclude certain cars in positions x-y that would be brilliant.by badgerf1 - Grand Prix 4
The device manager says it is a x3100 but must have less memory than yours And yes, I stand corrected, GP4 has only been out 6yrs, it must have been GP3 I was playing back then. So someone who's got the 2007 Mod running and looking lush - what's the spec of your machine?by badgerf1 - Grand Prix 4
Success! My my how good is Force Feedback!? I have to admit I feel a bit stupid because the whole the reason the FF wasn't working because the power connection to the wheel wasn't quite set correctly. I'm blaming Logitech for making the inset bit a bit tight, hmm. Anyway, happy days and thanks for the help!by badgerf1 - Grand Prix 4
2GB of RAM (the maximum I can have) and according to Apple the GFX is "Intel GMA X3100 graphics processor with 144MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory" Like I said it totally can't handle the 2006 mod!by badgerf1 - Grand Prix 4
Thank you!!! It's worked a treat now! Configured the wheel within GP4 itself, the steering, pedals and fire buttons all work fine. Force Feedback still doesn't seem to work even though it's enabled? Does it work for you? The only thing I miss is that in the Logitech Profiler it's possible to set all 16 fire buttons for various commads such as the left and right glanby badgerf1 - Grand Prix 4
Hi all, I only rediscovered GP4 this week after not playing on it for the last 8yrs! Back then I had a P2 200mhz with a 16mb gfx card accelerator! Obviously it ran like a sick dog. Now, 8yrs later my main machine is an Apple MacBook with 2Ghz Core 2 Duo and GP4 runs like a dream with out any mods on it. As soon as I install a Mod, especially the 2006 or 2007 the game is unplayable. Sinceby badgerf1 - Grand Prix 4
Hi thanks for this but for some reason the "usepreset" options are greyed out and I am unable to click on them. The guide on RacingSims looks great the second step is to click the userpreset option opposite 'wheel' and I can't. Any ideas? PLEASE HELP!!by badgerf1 - Grand Prix 4
True there's no effect but I have been fighting for the lead of race, seen and ignored the bitmap marshalls waving yellow flags and then crashed into a broken down Williams, hmm. I always bear on the side of caution now!by badgerf1 - Grand Prix 4
26 but feel like a teenager again revisiting GP4 and buying a wheel!by badgerf1 - Grand Prix 4
Hi all, I received my Logitech Formula Force EX today and had it set up with GP4 in no time. I'm pretty chuffed except a few things I hope someone can help with: If I run GP4 as is all my button configurations are fine (as specified in the Logitech sw) If I use the GPx patch as I do usually all config are lost. Steering/pedals are fine though - any ideas? Force Feedback - can'tby badgerf1 - Grand Prix 4
