Hi all, I only rediscovered GP4 this week after not playing on it for the last 8yrs! Back then I had a P2 200mhz with a 16mb gfx card accelerator! Obviously it ran like a sick dog.
Now, 8yrs later my main machine is an Apple MacBook with 2Ghz Core 2 Duo and GP4 runs like a dream with out any mods on it.
As soon as I install a Mod, especially the 2006 or 2007 the game is unplayable. Since I work in IT getting hold of some bits and pieces to build a machine purely for GP4 would not be too difficult but can you give me an idea of sort of kit would be best? If you've got the 2007 mod on full graphics running at 30fps then I need to know how!!
It should run quite nice on your pc. But how much ram do you have for example, or what kind of gfx card?

2GB of RAM (the maximum I can have) and according to Apple the GFX is "Intel GMA X3100 graphics processor with 144MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory"
you have a good pc, but I think the graphic processor is your bottleneck that intel is an onboard graphic card, but that's most of the time with portable computers with a recent ati or nvidea card you wouldn't have had any problems
The device manager says it is a x3100 but must have less memory than yours And yes, I stand corrected, GP4 has only been out 6yrs, it must have been GP3 I was playing back then.
So someone who's got the 2007 Mod running and looking lush - what's the spec of your machine?
