Steering Wheel woes FIXED!

Hi all, I received my Logitech Formula Force EX today and had it set up with GP4 in no time. I'm pretty chuffed except a few things I hope someone can help with:

If I run GP4 as is all my button configurations are fine (as specified in the Logitech sw) If I use the GPx patch as I do usually all config are lost. Steering/pedals are fine though - any ideas?

Force Feedback - can't get it to work at all, am I missing something?

Paddles - don't work in the game at all :(

Hope someone can help! Thanks in advance,
Adam Badger

to get the force feedback, select wheel on control, go on advanced, go down to force feedback, and enable forcefeedback.

In the control menu/presets, select User Preset, then select advanced, in the next nmenu, you will be able to set the gear shift paddles, calibration etc. Once you have finished, save the control set.

Hi thanks for this but for some reason the "usepreset" options are greyed out and I am unable to click on them.

The guide on RacingSims looks great the second step is to click the userpreset option opposite 'wheel' and I can't.

Any ideas?

PLEASE HELP!!

i remember that greyout problem.
try clicking on wheel and then directly advanced.
Can't recall how I solved it, but maybe that will do the trick.

Thank you!!!
It's worked a treat now! Configured the wheel within GP4 itself, the steering, pedals and fire buttons all work fine.

Force Feedback still doesn't seem to work even though it's enabled? Does it work for you?

The only thing I miss is that in the Logitech Profiler it's possible to set all 16 fire buttons for various commads such as the left and right glance to the side of the cockpit and being able to assign the pause and replay buttons. Has anyone managed this with the Formula Force wheel?

I basically want to avoid having to use the keyboard at all or am I being too demanding?!

If I get Force Feedback working that would be a result!!

Thanks, now on with REAL qualifying in Valencia!

No probs, glad it helped!
Force Feedback works fine for me, click enable FF and set the level like it's been suggested in the guide. (I have it on cca 50 percentage)

maybe you have FF turned off in the wheel configurables (not ingame)
I have a Speeedlink wheel, so I don't know how yours is set.

Success! My my how good is Force Feedback!? I have to admit I feel a bit stupid because the whole the reason the FF wasn't working because the power connection to the wheel wasn't quite set correctly. I'm blaming Logitech for making the inset bit a bit tight, hmm.

Anyway, happy days and thanks for the help!

Thanks for your help msater. Looking forward to your qualy mod. You're not going to try and turn Fri, Sat Practice and Qualy into the three rounds are you? I there was a way of telling GP4 to exclude certain cars in positions x-y that would be brilliant.
