The problem for Macca is though quite clear. You have the best three drivers all contracted (personally I think Vettel has much to prove even with a 3rd title), then Button who is clearly the next best. Who would McLaren sign? They had the two FI drivers or Perez. Probably incoming sponsorship was an issue but how can you blame them given the options. Are Hulk or Di Resta really going to do a betby davidm - F1
I think if you are realistic, the two safety cars hugely helped Vettel. If you take the field spread before the first, if they hadn't happened Eddie Jordan's assessment of 8th would have been about right.by davidm - F1
Thanks to both of you for the clarification. Thats information I wasn't aware of and isn't available on sites like the Beeb. I think I was clear LA was an issue but I think they are using him as a specific scapegoat (there must be many others who are just as culpable - even if they didn't win). I also think the guy who runs USADA is entirely doing this for his own ends. The othby davidm - Other Sports
This whole thing is really irritating. Not because the guy may not be a serious drug cheat just the way it has been done. Can anyone explain to me how the USDA can ban or strip someone of sporting titles? Surely that can only be a sporting governing body. Everything related to this case is based on third party comment with not a shred of factual evidence. It seems the guy who runs this agencyby davidm - Other Sports
"He did not have a choice. Luca said, we're hiring Kimi, we're keeping Massa... soooo, go home? Schumacher was basically sacked in favour of Kimi. He had some good races, but more also some terrible ones. Performances of the most successful driver? No. In fact he had some performances where he looked more rookie than 7 time champ. In all it confirmed although being the mosby davidm - F1
I think any F1 fan will miss him. It just seems somewhat sad with the last three years being spent in the Mercedes. I wish he hadn't gone in 2006 and accepted Kimi at Ferrari, even on equal terms. Then done his final years and retired properly at the top. I suspect he would have beaten Kimi and got his 8th title. It would have been close but very interesting.by davidm - F1
That seems very mean spirited, not to say biased. Why should a guy who is doing pretty well give way to someone unproven and raw on the basis of he might do okay so lets give him a chance. I'm no Schumacher fan either.by davidm - F1
So what you're saying is he wanted to stay with McLaren but the negotiatation went tits up?by davidm - F1
"I doubt Red Bull is getting bored with F1. They use extreme sports as a branding strategy on a global scale. An F1 exit would signal an end to the spearhead of that branding strategy." Yes agreed generally but they are involved in a whole range of platforms and F1 is a very expensive part of that strategy - it doesn't necessarily mean it is financially feasible long term for thby davidm - F1
I don't understand why Vettel would want to partner Alonso at Ferrari. Alonso is seriously established there. I think more likely that Seb will stay at RB. Only problem being is if RB get bored with F1 - its not their business after all. I do hope MS goes to Ferrari - I think he'll do a better job than Massa. Alternatively a position at Sauber for a year or two would be significant too.by davidm - F1
To be fair - not all people who reda this forum are based in the Uk. However you have a very good point. Also think she would be very good because she is a motorsport person.by davidm - F1
I sort of hope for a swap - Hamilton for Rosberg. I think Hamilton and Schumi next season could be entertaining. Does anyone know what Nico's contract position is with Merc?by davidm - F1
Talking of Mercedes, what chance a simple Rosberg, Hamilton swap. Macca get a salary deal and Merc have the marketing resource of Ham and MS.by davidm - F1
Thanks alot. This is a great job. Please consider keeping up your great input from time to time.by davidm - Grand Prix 4

You need to report the guy to Ebay for copyright infringement and insist they remove it. They will think twice about taking stuff from him in future.by davidm - Grand Prix 4
Just a thought about DRS. I think all consider it to make that part of the racing false. I'm not any sort of engineer so have no idea how this might actually be possible. What DRS should do is replicate the use of turbo boost in the 1980s. There was a downside then with fuel consumption. I feel it (DRS) should be available but limited. Would this be possible with a battery with a certainby davidm - F1
Still think you could put a safety car out and have the original grid order who had survived line up in correct order, in an incident like this after 1st corner.by davidm - F1
Does anyone else have an opinion on the start and the drivers who gained going "off-track". In all fairness they should have given places back to those who lost out in the melee and went round the first corner properly, at least those who lined up ahead of them. In past races they would have been out. Really irritated me when Vettel ended up 6th but others as well.by davidm - F1
They won't get rid of Lazenby and Georgie because they are original Sky employees, no doubt with ongoing contracts and well established there. Its actually Lazenby I can't stand, I think Georgie does an okay job and on the weekly show with Ted. Lazenby is appalling in the interviews and when they are finished the interviewee seems like they have to scuttle off and on camera - very pby davidm - F1
Thanks - I posted a reply but it does'nt seem to have picked up. I will try what you suggest. Everything works fine on the PC except the GP games, haven't yet tried the war game that came with it. Sounds like drivers? Just a quickie to Mortal below is the log from GPxLoad - would appreciate it if it means anything. Thanks. Sorry - you are absolutely correct it is a 8500 GT with 1024 mb DDR 2 memory. I don't know where I got 8256.by davidm - Grand Prix 4
"Try to test with another game. Or try 3dmark or another test program to stress the graphic card." I've got a game that came with the pc but never played it before - I'll try that. Go to google to look for 3dmark? "Is there a crash log? Possible to test with another card?" Don't have another card unfortunately. Is the crash log from from GPxPatch? "whby davidm - Grand Prix 4
Hi Guys I don't know whether anyone can give any advice on this big issue I'm having. When running GP4 after about 10 mins the picture freezes, the colours then distort to a sort of green, black red and if you leave the game it crashes the whole computer. All you can do is restart. I am assuming this is something to do with my graphic card but difficult to know because GP games tby davidm - Grand Prix 4

I think thats a key thing and that for 4 of his Ferrari titles Michael had the best car and perhaps more importantly the best tyre (almost bespoke to the Prancing Horse).by davidm - F1
