McLarens seemingly biggest problems are time management and innovation. They launched a week later than most of the other teams, which is fair enough, you can see why they've done that. Now however, one of the biggest applications of the year is the positioning of the exhaust outlets. McLaren therefore have got two solutions on the go to see which works better. The problem is they simpby 97kirkc - F1
In these troubled times of McLaren fanboyism, I just post this: ":O RADICAL SIDEPODS LIKE THE MCLAR...wait what? It was @#$%&?"* *Obviously apart from that awesome sounds Lambo V12, but that's not part of the point that is being made here :Pby 97kirkc - F1
More likely it'll be rearranged to a different date in the season, but Paul Ricard would be the more obvious choice as it's Bernie's own circuit and it's completely up to date.by 97kirkc - F1
As the circuit isn't within the confines of a city or town, it should be relatively simple to secure with enough man power available, if required. A perimeter around the circuit is easily do-able as it's just empty desert land. I suppose they'll see how GP2 and the F1 test goes before jumping to any conclusions.by 97kirkc - F1

Rubens topping the sheets on the same tyres and the same run length as MS as well. Just saying. :Pby 97kirkc - F1
I'm sorry, and this isn't directed at you but many other people previous (journos that really should know better), but if someone else compares that STR to the double floor F92A I think im going to @#$%& scream. It really is just undercut sidepods, more like the leading edge of the F310. The F92A had exactly what it said on the tin, two distinct floors, which is much different. Scarbby 97kirkc - F1

Yeah that's been doing the rounds for a few months. It was confirmed by Adam Parr/Sam Michael when a group of fans visited the HQ in early January. No details as such yet but the overalls Rubens and Pastor have been sporting are very similar to the Rothmans livery.by 97kirkc - F1
I believe the Williams and the Mercedes exhaust layouts are very similar to that as well.by 97kirkc - F1
Well I don't know what "western" sites you've been reading, but all of that was reported and has already been covered in the other thread. Also, I can't find anywhere in the other thread where people state its just a basic hand injury, as far as I can see people have covered all these details and more, discussed concerns over his condition as well as other information sucby 97kirkc - F1
T-minus was a brand of consumer goods headed up by a Nigerian prince who bought 25% of the Arrows team in '99. The countdown was just there as a play on words, but he resigned as he couldn't meet his obligations, which is why it disappeared off the cars. Oh, terrible livery. ^by 97kirkc - F1

True, it's similar to the B195, but I'd say its more similar not just in terms of look, but also in terms of the idea to the F310 The gap between the pod and the rest of the car is there to provide as much open space as possible to the rear wing in general/lower beam wing.by 97kirkc - F1
...low nose? Also, what Indycar have you been watching? Not a bad design, but god why do they bother with these style of launches anymore? Not only was it boring as hell, the presenter seemingly knew @#$%& all about anything remotely to do with F1, let alone McLaren. Half the inside of the car is filled with plastic placeholders, even the exhausts were plastic fakes! and yet again another cby 97kirkc - F1

BBC F1 source is saying Brundle and Coulthard in for 2011 (via f1fanatic on twitter). Confirmation is due later today. edit: Blundell now saying on twitter as if it's confirmed.by 97kirkc - F1
To put what others have recently said into some perspective; When I started my Uni course in 2004 there wer about 160 on my course. (2 semesters in a year in case some dont know). End of semester 1 that was down to about 130. End of the first year, down to just under 100. By the time I got to my 4th year there were about 40 of us left, and that drop off is pretty common. 8 of us got 1st class degby 97kirkc - Off-Topic

It's quite impressive that Maldonado managed a 1:43.7 by the end in the HRT (I suppose a lot of factors are different to qualifying day) but that's substantially quicker than what Senna managed in qualifying, which was a 1:45.0by 97kirkc - F1
F-Ducts and double diffusers are banned for 2011. Also regarding Virgin, they can flash all the CFDness in front of everyone as much as they'd like, as they've said they are sticking with the Xtrac internals to the gearbox with their own casing. That needs to change, even HRT have done their damn best to get hold of the Williams parts to get away from it.by 97kirkc - F1
