I'm sorry but this is a new team - if this was an existing team then we might be inclined to agree. Yes the front mount failure was unexpected, but things like this will happen. Being a new team, time is short and money will always be tight. It really is a massive deal that they and Lotus have even gotten to this stage from a completely blank sheet. So when you need to make a correction tby 97kirkc - F1
I did have a look, even doing some URL hashing but to no avail. Even that one isn't complete by the looks of it, as Schumacher is missing. I wouldn't be too negative on McLaren, it certainly is a very consistent pace but whether its controlled or not is another matter! Rubens does seem to be fitting in well, but its going to take them quite a while to bed everything in until they areby 97kirkc - F1
Some quite intriguing information can be found from this, the lapcharts from the last day at Jerez. A nice find if I do say so myself!by 97kirkc - F1
Dude, seriously chill! It's just a nice (or was) friendly discussion on OS practices. I feel sorry for you if you havent even looked or discussed it at the university where you work, you're missing out on some very cool technologies/hardware that can be applied as well as some vast improvements that users will love. For the record, like im sure Gav does where he works, we do have Linuxby 97kirkc - Off-Topic
Having used god knows how many OS's over the past 5 years for research and university projects, Ubuntu, RedHat, HP UX, Cisco IOS, OSX, Windows Server and desktops editions just to name the broad spectrum, Windows is still the best all rounder available for general business and for general home use. You don't need a net connection to validate like Gav said, so that really isn't theby 97kirkc - Off-Topic
The Hulk reports that the Cosworth is a vast improvement on the Toyota engine, which he drove with in December, and they've yet to have any reliability or installation issues so far with the units they've used. The gearbox issue at the end of today on Rubens car was a part that was past its normal life cycle.by 97kirkc - F1
Nicely summed up Gav. I apologise if it came across a bit strong, but I just felt it was overly harsh on chet for just stating his opinion in context to the thread, but getting shot down because it didn't match the consensus.by 97kirkc - F1

Indeed, Companies House has seemingly lost patience with Force India for not filing its accounts, therefore they have begun the process of closing them down by serving them notice. They have 3 months starting from the 26th January to file their 2008 accounts correctly, if they don't then Force India will be dissolved and the team will become property of the state/FIA and the criminal procby 97kirkc - F1
Can we also highlight that the lap record for this track is held by the MP4-19A :P and that was at the top of the time sheets most of the time at this track as well, you really cant tell anything. Tracks like Jerez may make it a bit clearer, but its doubtful.by 97kirkc - F1

I recommend following Clairevwilliams on twitter she is one of Williams F1s communication officers and posts some interesting stuff on there including photos. Williams were doing long run all day today according to her, so they're not too bothered about lap time, and they are also being extra careful with the new Cosworth engine and drivetrain, double checking pretty much everything consby 97kirkc - F1
It is indeed Eurobrun and Oscar Larrauri, think mclarenf1fan gets that, getting 3/4 first :Pby 97kirkc - F1

lol you intrigued me, so I had to research it! testing for the 91 season, Onyx team, at Monza apparently. I had no idea they actually had the cash for that farce to build a car for 91.by 97kirkc - F1

I know he drove #36 in 1989/1990 for Onyx, but that isn't the right livery unless its some early season shinnanigans.by 97kirkc - F1

Depending on the rear, perhaps 2 worked better for some teams than 3, who knows really.by 97kirkc - F1
3 is allowed since last year, but you cant go beyond the plane of the wing itself, eg, you cant have a 3rd element going across the front of the main rear wing like a few years backby 97kirkc - F1
Of course, but I was referring to what we have seen already, with every team at the back of the car pretty much going the same way. Yes everything will change by the 1st race, but with what we have heard about Ferrari already in the rumour mill it doesn't fill us with confidence.by 97kirkc - F1
Of course. Looking at the cars we've seen so far, the rear of the Ferrari looks to be a bit under developed.by 97kirkc - F1
Renaults team principle in Valencia today, pretty much confirming the livery. /edit, been beaten to it! :Pby 97kirkc - F1
Don't know why, posted this in the other thread a bit by accident. Williams as predicted will not hold an official launch. The new FW32 will appear at the first test on the 1st February. I've seen this mentioned in a few places, so here's a link just to provide citation:by 97kirkc - F1

Straight line testing at approved FIA facilities (of which there are many) come under a different section of the regulations. I believe they are allowed 8 days of straight line tests a year without quoting the regulations.by 97kirkc - F1
