I agree with you, but F1 and a lot of drivers would be damaged if they left. We'd lose 4 cars, Renault and 4 drivers, plus all the junior drivers with Redbull backing may no longer have that.by airefresco - F1
Gav, whilst I mostly agree with you, Sauber should not be in this situation. It's bad man management to have 4 drivers thinking they have deals, when only two of them do. Sauber should have took the necessary steps to cancel (legally) Sutil's and Van der Garde's contract, before signing two new drivers. Now they are in an even worse situation through all the bad publicity and loby airefresco - F1
Morbid what are you talking about, Santander have sponsored Button and Mclaren for years. Button and Magnusson have had a huge Santander logo across their chest all season. Your post seems to suggest this is a new partnership or something, or have I missed your point?by airefresco - F1
The thing is Bernie's comments don't even hold up. While a few sponsors do have an older demographic, a much higher percentage don't, Redbull must be the biggest sponsor in F1 and they certainly aim at kids and 20 somethings. Mercedes too, most of their sponsors bar, pertronas are aimed at young people. It could be argued that Ferrari and McLaren are the only teams that donby airefresco - F1
They shouldn't have bothered painting those white lines on the edge of the track, nobody took any notice of them. Pretty much every driver had all 4 wheels off the track at some point. Vettel, Vergne and Kimi seemed to be doing it a lot (as in every lap), but the others weren't far behind. They need to do something about that. Back in the day that would have cost you a lot of time oby airefresco - F1

Sutil confirmed at Sauber, Personally I think it´s a waste, especially if they end up dropping Guttierrez . In other news Bottas has requested number 77, #BO77AS.by airefresco - F1

No, he has been let off as the floor was damaged, so he doesn´t get any sanction.by airefresco - F1
I think there is a maybe. There´s more to it than whether he has full movement (or sufficient movement) and he has the strength and stamina. There´s also the physcological aspect, which can´t be tested, he may not necessarily be a sharp now as he was 3 years ago. There´s all manner things that could wrong. Plus with the testing ban, he can´t drive a modern F1 car. Massa, Schumacher and Kiby airefresco - F1
I agree with marcl, I cannot see it happening. More likely will be a WRC drive, which to be honest I hope happens. The problem with F1 is that there are only a limited number of seats available and there are good drivers without drives, plus a few potential superstars coming up through the ranks, plus only Webber and maybe Massa who could retire in the next couple of years. Does anyone know why Lewis changed his helmet on Saturday? On Autosport it says his helmets had the letters H.A.M. on it on Friday, but they were letters that got him in to trouble in Spa. So Saturday he went with his normal design and Sunday back to the American design, but without the H.A.M. on the back. What are they on about? The only thing I remember him doing in Spa was the telemetry thby airefresco - F1
Or it could just be that Ferrari do not really have any better options than Massa. Massa wins on just about every attribute that Ferrari would want in a driver. He is quick, but not too quick, he is experienced and seems to be well liked by everyone at the team, including Alonso. The only attribute that Massa falls short on is inconstancy, especially in a poor car, which pretty much validatesby airefresco - F1
Yeah I think JEV is doing OK. This season has got to be about learning the ropes and he seems to be improving. Next season is when he has to do well consistently or he will get dropped. I would ditch DR though. He´s not really done anything to show he is better than Buemi or Jaime, so there´s no point keeping him. Maldonado too I think has improved a lot over the course of the season. Heby airefresco - F1
Also in modern F1 he would have got 3 penalties in that race, one for speeding in the pitlane, possibly one for overtaking hill off the track (looks like all 4 wheels are off to me) and for the Frentzen thing. Plus both Mclarens died and the field is a lot closer now then it was in 98. I think Ferrari are just being cautious. There is a lot of pressure as a Ferrari driver and even more when Alonso is your team mate. There is nowhere near as much pressure at Sauber and that I think that is why Ferrari want to hold off. If Checo went to Ferrari next year and wasn´t getting top 6 finishes straight away, then it´s not doing anybody any good. Massa is capable of regular top 6 plby airefresco - F1

Stefano Domenicali has made quite an interesting point regarding the criticism towards Massa. If we cast our minds back to Malaysia 2008 and the situation was pretty much the same. Massa had had an awful start and after Malaysia there were all sorts of rumours flying around about Massa getting replaced and he wasn´t good enough, etc. Then he turned everything around and nearly won the championby airefresco - F1

I am surprised how underrated both STR drivers seem to be on here. Personally, I think both drivers are decent. They´re not as good as Vettel but I still think both of them have a lot of potential. As much as I like Jaime, I would give the seat to Buemi for a year and stick Ricciardo in STR and see how he fairs up to Jaime. Give it a year and see what happens.
