When I slide off the track at Monza, which is quite frequent, the car slows right down in 1st gear. Car won't accelerate at all until I've stopped and gone into Reverse. I can't find any reference or setting to control this and switch it off. So I was wondering if this is deliberate and how the game works?? I'm just using the basic original game with no mods etc.by CRMS - Grand Prix 4

Agree - And "Let them race" is false argument; they had raced for 56-57 laps. And MV couldn't get anywhere near LH. Perhaps they need a rule for a late safety car rather like the Tour De France ruleby CRMS - F1

I'm thoroughly enjoying the Mexico 2017 ahead of the F1 GP. Once again great fun and very many thanks for all the work. Just one observation with the driver lap and split times displayed. Only the first split time is shown for Sector 1. After that 3.606 is displayed on the second line. I'm using Jenson Button/Benetton and have had a look in the various GPx ini files, but couldnby CRMS - Grand Prix 4

These look interesting but I haven't a clue what to do with them?? Are they the trackmaps that are displayed on the PC screen? I use trackmaps displayed on the screen and have changed the track colours in the TrackMap section in gpxsat.ini. But can I also reduce the line width??by CRMS - Grand Prix 4
On Screen Position of Driver Name and Split/Lap Time - 3 years ago
Slowly getting sorted. I have the Driver name and Split/Lap time towards bottom and left hand side of screen, as on the TV screen. I would like to move it to a more central position and looking for the X, Y coordinates. I've looked in GPxSAT.ini but didn't spot anything obvious. Force Feeback/Vibration from Game - 3 years ago
Just wondering what the FFB from the game is? I'm using the RaceRoom controller RRDC2 - Which has vibration motors in the handles. At the moment I'm getting vibration with increasing steering lock, but only audio when going across rumble strips. I've got "enable force feedback" selected, but what is "wheel pulls left"? Display Lap Delta on LCD Screen - 3 years ago
I've now been hunting around if Lap Delta can or could be displayed in the large empty central space in the steering wheel LCD screen?? Even better in Red for behind current fastest lap, own or competitors, and Green ahead. But I suspect that is not possible as it seems the screen is just black characters. GPxLap Help didn't seem to have anything obvious.by CRMS - Grand Prix 4

Prblanco, Thank you so much for doing that change. Just brilliant. And a great help when I'm on a laptop and using small RaceRoom controller, brilliant non the less. Yes. 1500 is way too large and in the next country on my laptop. Now with X and Y 100. Spot on. Now just want to change track colour to dark grey rather than black. I guess the colour is in hexadecimal?? PC programmingby CRMS - Grand Prix 4

Prblanco, Many thanks. I'm still not seeing the track map using 8 and the ini settings. Is this correct? TrackMapPosX=1500 <--------- Position X of Trackmap TrackMapPosY=210 <--------- Position Y of Trackmap As far as I know, XY zero is top left of screen. And i assume the 1500 and 210 are pixels?? My screen is 1280 x 800, so that would put the trackmap off the right haby CRMS - Grand Prix 4

gareth, thanks. Must read more slowly. It isn't in the manual. Any other undocumented key functions? Also, I had a thought that the lines in superman77m's post may be in addition to the lines already in the ini file, rather than just replace them. And getting ideal line to display? It is enabled by F5, as a Rookie, but not displayed on Istanbul 2011.by CRMS - Grand Prix 4

Thanks F8 turns on steering assist. I edited GPxSat.ini to match the *ini lines above but no change. I'm using an Istanbul 2011 track mod which doesn't show the racing line either, so perhaps it is an Istanbul modded track issue rather than GP4.by CRMS - Grand Prix 4

I'm wondering if it is possible to display the track map as is displayed in top left corner when car has stopped. With a moving dot of own cars position. I changed the Enable track map in F1 graphics.cfg to 2 but no difference.by CRMS - Grand Prix 4

Strange problem. On two laptops, W7 and W11, any car other than a Ferrari goes into Reverse when space bar is pressed to leave pits?? As I'm using keyboard, I have all the assists switched on. Also, trying to find a Zandvoort circuit?? And pretty new at this, so first time trying to replace one of the 17. I'm using GPxPatch.exe.by CRMS - Grand Prix 4

I have GP4 running on a Windows 10 laptop and it is fun, even if only using the AZ,. keys etc, when I am away from home sim rig setup. To get a little more out of it, I was thinking of a gamepad/controller and looking for recommendations??by CRMS - Grand Prix 4

I've got GP4 running in Windows 10 after mounting the iso and then starting GPx. And changed graphics.cfg resolution to 2256 x 1504 for a laptop. Runs well. It occurred to me that I could use a batch file to mount the iso and then start GPx. Wondered if any one had done that??by CRMS - Grand Prix 4

I am having difficulty to get GP4 and Fanatec DD1 and V3 to run. W10 21H1. Set GP4 to XP compatibility mode Have GP4.iso on drive and in W10 I use the mount option. Loaded the d3d8.dll in main GP 4 Directory. Selected Wheel as controller and calibrated. Throttle and brake fine but clutch is also throttle. Paddles don't change gear Appreciate any suggestions.by CRMS - Grand Prix 4

Solved. It was an orphan directory in C:\Program Files (x86)\Installshield Installation Information. Revo Uninstall dealt with it and able to reinstall GP3.by CRMS - Grand Prix 3
