Display Lap Delta on LCD Screen

I've now been hunting around if Lap Delta can or could be displayed in the large empty central space in the steering wheel LCD screen?? Even better in Red for behind current fastest lap, own or competitors, and Green ahead. But I suspect that is not possible as it seems the screen is just black characters.
