Display Track Map

I'm wondering if it is possible to display the track map as is displayed in top left corner when car has stopped. With a moving dot of own cars position. I changed the Enable track map in F1 graphics.cfg to 2 but no difference.

Try pressing ‘8’ on the number pad, this enables and disables the track map

Open the "GPxSat.ini" file into GPxPatch folder and edit it.

Search this into:

[TrackMap]
TrackMap=1
TrackMapPosX=1500 <--------- Position X of Trackmap
TrackMapPosY=210 <--------- Position Y of Trackmap
TrackMapHeight=256
TrackMapWidth=256
TrackMapColor=0xff000000

F8 turns on steering assist.
I edited GPxSat.ini to match the *ini lines above but no change. I'm using an Istanbul 2011 track mod which doesn't show the racing line either, so perhaps it is an Istanbul modded track issue rather than GP4.

Try just '8', not 'F8' This toggles the track map overlay within GPxPatch

gareth, thanks. Must read more slowly. It isn't in the manual. Any other undocumented key functions?

Also, I had a thought that the lines in superman77m's post may be in addition to the lines already in the ini file, rather than just replace them.

And getting ideal line to display? It is enabled by F5, as a Rookie, but not displayed on Istanbul 2011.

Some custom tracks do not have the ideal line. If you're running Istanbul 2011 from F1virtual, by tomorrow I can roll out an update to include the F5 line.

I'm still not seeing the track map using 8 and the ini settings.

Is this correct?
TrackMapPosX=1500 <--------- Position X of Trackmap
TrackMapPosY=210 <--------- Position Y of Trackmap

As far as I know, XY zero is top left of screen. And i assume the 1500 and 210 are pixels??
My screen is 1280 x 800, so that would put the trackmap off the right hand of the screen??

Then the size is from
TrackMapHeight=256
TrackMapWidth=256
So 256 pixels each direction?

Exactly, you are not seeing the trackmap because it is beyond your screen size. So change the 1500 to something lower, maybe 1000

you also can use a negative value so the trackmap will be visible with every resolution.


Then the size is from

Yes. 1500 is way too large and in the next country on my laptop. Now with X and Y 100. Spot on. Now just want to change track colour to dark grey rather than black. I guess the colour is in hexadecimal?? PC programming/fiddling is new to me.

Thanks for all the assistance. Grey track with green edge, centered on screen. Brilliant.
I've found [rsdi.home.xs4all.nl] and seems to be lots of useful info.
