1."Magic Data" files are simple text files which can be easily edited with a text editor such as NotePad. You'll likely need to at least adjust the fuel consumption and AI gear ratios to be compatible with the carset and physics that you are using. May I suggest that you try out my 1995-2001 Formula One Performance Package, if you're running any of those cars, as the magicby JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
The proper procedure for installing and patching Grand Prix 3 (which has worked successfully for me many many times) is as follows: 1.Do a "full" installation of Grand Prix 3 from the Grand Prix 3 CD. 2.Keep the Grand Prix 3 CD in your CD-drive and now install the Grand Prix 3 v1.13. patch. 3.Install the "decrypted" gp3.exe. 4.Run the Grand Prix 3 no-CD patch.by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
There were a number of 1970's through 1990's F1 physics files included with the earlier versions of Aubrey Windle's GP3 Advanced Physics Editor. My 1995-2001 F1 Performance Package for GP3 includes physics files for all of the F1 seasons from 1995-2001. My 1991 F1 Track Graphics Package for GP3 includes a 1991 F1 physics file (to achieve reasonable laptimes and correct fuel consuby JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
The Catherham 7 carset includes new physics, carshape, and cockpit with steering wheel.by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
There have been 2000, 2001 and 2002 F3000 carsets made for GP3. Also a Formula Nippon carset, a BOSS series carset, and a Catherham 7 carset have been made for GP3. There have very likely been several others made as well that escape me at present. I don't have download links for these, but I am sure that you should be able to find most of them without too much trouble if you just visit the uby JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
I think not. A "feist" is a small dog. So it follows that the word "feisty" should be similar in meaning to the word "bitchy", which is probably not at all what you meant.by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
Huh? How can you do that in F1 2002 when it has virtually no CART, IRL or earlier F1 circuits? Did F1 2002 suddenly acquire a couple of hundred or so addon tracks overnight, while I wasn't looking, to rival Grand Prix 3 in that department?by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
Why ever would you think that? It certainly can't be because of a lack of new addons or spirited discussion. Do you also suppose that no one plays Sports Car GT, NASCAR Heat, or Grand Prix Legends these days just because there are newer games around?by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
Definitely not a copy, Andrew. Sealed mint new box with CD and manual, and it most certainly does not give me any installation options. Are there any Grand Prix 2 guides that anyone knows of, or do I have to trial and error my way through all of those files on the Grand Prix 2 CD?by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
My copy Of Grand Prix 2 (a new sealed American one) gives me no installation options to choose from and only installs 8bm worth of files onto my hard-drive.by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
The big difference is that Grand Prix 3 installs all the needed files onto the hard-drive while Grand Prix 2 offers no choice of installation options and only installs 8mb onto the hard-drive, reading the rest of the required files from the CD. So the first thing that I need to find out is precisely what Grand Prix 2 files need to go into the GP2 folder on my hard-drive.by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
Would anyone know if there are any guides to installing addons for or modding Grand Prix 2 around anywhere? (As there are for other games such as Sports Car GT and Grand Prix 3.)by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
Ellis, "Actaully "in the large part" they were." Three circuits in Grand Prix 2 (Circuit de Catalunya, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, and Circuit National de Spa-Francorchamps) were missing chicanes that were present at the real versions of these circuits in 1994 and added roughly a huge 5 seconds or so to the laptimes at those circuits. Together these 3 circuits comprised over 2by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
There has never been an edit feature in this forum before, and I didn't see it until you mentioned it just now. Come to think of it, I'm fairly certain that it wasn't there just a little while ago when I noticed my error, as I distinctly recall looking to see whether it was one of the forum's new features.by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
Correction. The name of the game mentioned in the first sentence of my immediately preceeding post should, of course, read "Grand Prix 2". My apologies for my typographical error.by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
I just finally managed to obtain a copy of Grand Prix 3 after several years of trying. I was surprised to find that the "1994" F1 circuits that the game was supposed to have, were, in fact, in large part not of the configuration that the real circuits were in 1994. It was also interesting to discover just how flawed people's memories of this game were. For example, there have beenby JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
The tyre chicane was at the Montreal Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in 1994 and 1995. The tyre chicane was right before Eau Rouge at the Circuit National de Spa-Francorchamps in 1994. If anyone wants to authentically recreate a 1994 Formula One season then they would need to have these tyre chicane tracks. It's interesting that Grand Prix 2, which was released in 1996 supposedly simulating theby JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
I suppose that the squashed bugs would probably be the biggest hurdle, and, unfortunately, that's what would be needed the most for true realism.by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
Annoying? Don't you want to be able to see where you're going? What would you do without it? Have someone sit next to you and give your monitor a wipe with a paper towel when you pitted? Hmmm. That's an idea for more realism. I suppose that they could also splatter dirt, oil, and squashed bugs on your monitor while you're driving. What are the chances that we could talk ourby JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
Such seems to be the case, as is also true with Grand Prix Legends and European Air War, for example, where you can have several installations of the game via a similar procedure. Trust me. It works. I have had as many as eight different versions of Grand Prix 3 contentedly co-habiting on my hard drive.by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
First, install Grand Prix 3 to the default location and patch it to version 1.13. Secondly, install the decrypted gp3.exe and no-CD patch. Then copy the entire Grand Prix 3 folder to another location of your choosing, (I have a folder on my C-drive for my various installations of Grand Prix 3 that I have named "GP Sims".) and rename it to whatever you wish. 1.All 21 CART 2001 season tracks that I have currently installed work fine in GP3. 2.I have a CART physics file that I use for my 2001 CART installation of GP3 that is quite different from any of the physics files that I use for any of my F1 GP3 installations. 3.You should be able to find everything that you need for a full CART season of GP3 (as well as just about everything else for GP3) eithby JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
Jawwad, If you are unable to run GP4, at all, on your PC, then you may well have some difficulties with GP3-2000 also, as the considerably more detailed GP3-2000 tracks require a somewhat higher spec machine than GP3.by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3

All pretty much moot, anyway, as one is highly unlikely to find couple of year old games downloadable anywhere. The warez folks only like the very latest games and the "abandonware" places specialize in many years old games, which leaves anyone looking to either buy or download something of GP3-2000's vintage to be more or less out of luck (particularly as GP3-2000 was only ever avby JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
A very upright and ethical response, probably from someone who bought GP3-2000 two years ago. The usual one that is given when someone inquires about obtaining an "old" game. Unfortunately, it's very often the case that the renderer of the advice, as he's had the game in question for several years, hasn't bothered checking to see if the game is, indeed, available for saleby JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
Grand Prix 3 - 2000 has two different versions of all the circuits, a high detail version and a low detail version. The low detail versions have many fewer objects. You may want to check to see which versions of the tracks you are using.by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
Grand Pris 3 only allows one single CC setup for dry and wet races, really. The similar top speeds can most likely be accounted for by the CC having much slower exit speeds from the turns preceeding the straights, due to their always using a "dry" setup.by JackiMatra - Grand Prix 3
