yeah, i still have gp2 installed and i have still a big archieve with lods of different stuff. GP2 was my first real f1 simu and i was very impressed about all the possibilitis for this game. And the other thing is, the sound was great, but sadly now i can only play without sound, because i can't figure it out, why gp2 won't works with vdm sound.

I had a failure myself :P

I was also leading by miles but when coming out of the Beckets and Maggots complex my rear right suspension failed and I crashed of the track.

Hey, just a question for those who *still* play the game :D

I've been trying to play it w/ sound using VDMSound, as suggested, and it works perfectly! This is the first time I play the game in full-spec SVGA graphics! :P Unfortunately, i'm experiencing some random crashes, like, I finished a race in Monza (out-of-the-box game, btw) and when the "race over" sign appeared, the game closed, followed by the message "divide by zero". as far as i can remember, divide by zero was a problem related to bad track editing but, hey, this is an original gp2 track!

I'd like to know, do you guys also experience weird crashes and stuff now that you play the game on XP too?

Last time I played Gp2 was 4 years ago. I bought it in 1996.

A couple of weeks ago I was looking for some F1 challenge 99-02 mods, and I don't know how I ran into grpix2.com, in which it was explained how to make it work under WinXP. Needless to say I downloaded all the stuff... no, I downloaded the entire SITE. It's like when you stop smoking, and you re-start after some years. The nicotine calls you. I had been a Gp2-addicted, I thought I was no more, but I was wrong.

The second step was installing Gp3: better look in all aspects but slightly less appeal than Gp2. Whatever... they're both on my hard disk now.

(third step: uninstall f1 challenge 99-02...)

@rafael.pereira.87
I didn't experience any crashes until now... just the sound, some times is not 100% accurate but who cares!

GP2? It is a bridge to other world, Thanks to this game I did some great friends around the world :)

That game was awesome in my childhood days, as well as the first version (GP1)!

It also introduced me to this community, In 1996/97 I was looking for updates, most of them I can remember from PK Arnall and the brilliant GP2 Editor. I also knew Damien Legros through ICQ - he did some great GP2 editors! We lost contact after GP3, but now its nice to be a part of a GPx community and to see my GPx friends list growing up everyday, I wonder how it will be with rFactor. I have never raced online or entered in a GPx league before I got GP4 and rFactor :)

And funnily enough my first GP2 car was painted in red/gold/white colors - with Hollywood Lights as the main sponsor, LOL! And the team name was: "Red Tiger Racing", not very original :) And after that with GP3 it kept the same colors, but moved to GP4 and changed it to orange/white, to a brazilian flag livery, and now the McDonalds livery and a new name since 2003: RaltWest Honda :D

Sorry but it brought me so many good memories :)
