Xbox 360 or Playstation 3?

I understand the financial side of paying to play online, but I don't understand why people are willing to pay for it, especially when no console game is even close to matching PCs for online play. The Orange Box games online are crap because of the limitations of X-Box Live...and I can get a better experience on the PC. Take into account that console games are *massively* overpriced, so you save money on the PC edition, and you need an ISP for both services, I just don't understand why anyone sees it as a good deal.

To be honest its hard to explain, Xbox Live is like a massive community all incorporated into one online system, unlike Playstation's system all games have to obide by one system which makes it such a better experience! The closest thing to it on the PC is probably Steam's new Community system, however steam just isn't as feature full as the 360 version and Steam's system, even though it has improved alot, is still crash happy when it wants to be. Its correct you could take advantage of all of Xbox Live's features without paying for it! The only extra feature you get when you pay for it is that you can play online...

I personally pay for it because I do enjoy the online experience! I love been able to play Co-Op, thats a feature which has all but disappeared from PC gaming nowadays... for instance I used to play quite a bit of Co-Op with Neil on GRAW and GRAW2 which was always cool Everyone has a headset, whereas on the PC its only usually nerds who think they are better than everyone else, as Team Fortress 2 has proved Initially that was quite a bad thing with the 360 when we had retards going around ruining it for everyone but the report feature means Microsoft Suspends or Bans those users off Xbox Live for been idiots and nowadays I find its a bit more rare that you come accross people like that, henceforth its quite nice as you can just basically talk to anyone around about anything whilst playing games and usually make some good friends over it!

I still experience many people who are just annoying young teenagers talking crap. My roomie's name used to be SSU SoccerGod and one time someone said that soccer sucks... you don't do that with my roommate, he obliterates people on Gears of War and Halo 3

Ian, I remember reading Microsoft had switched production of XBox 360s and they were much cheaper to make and that's been going on for quite a bit.

edit: and wasn't there something about the console costing about 215 bucks to make?

Well that depends what games you play, on things like Rainbow Six Vegas, GRAW, COD4, Flat Out I don't find any of that, however in games like Halo 3 and Gears of war you'll deffo find that! As they are alot more popular and overrated games with little kiddies Hence why I don't own either of them. PGR4 on occasion has its twats but its alot lower than PGR3 used to be, I remember chatting with a group of people whilst driving round the Nurburgring and when I beat a german bloke... I think he was trying to insult because he lost, but it just made everyone else laugh at him Usually if you find twats the mute button is handy anyway

They have made a cheaper Xbox yes, its the reason why over here and in America the price of it has been lowered. But Microsoft still arn't breaking even, and I've never heard that $215 claim before...

@Mark You can still send it back though can't you? still in the 3 years warranty! My one is still going strong atm at my mates

Im hooked on Mass Effect, its a great game. Lots to do, so much space to explore. its awesome.

I read on the wiki page that apparantly its a trilogy, and all 3 games are going to be on the xbox 360, and there will be downloadable chapters between each game... if thats the case, its going to be one @#$%& huge game. it also mentions that your character will follow on in the 2nd and 3rd installments. thats just cool.

yeah i did that one to.

I want to cause pain and GBH to anyone involved in my 360 repair at the minute.

I just got my first 5 stars in Guitar Hero 3! After ages without playing, I decided to have a go on Cherub Rock (Smashing Pumpkins, quite nice!) and I got 240,997 and my 1st 5 stars on Hard :D! Could have been 250,000 or more but quick muck ups when I had 4x killed it for me. Great fun though

I've not got into Guitar Hero 3 myself, not my type of music so

Looks like the PS3 may get a bit interesting soon! Uncharted comes out this week which looks interesting, Just seen a preview for Haze which at first from the screenshots looked like a run of the mill rip off of Halo, I've now changed my mind after seen the preview, looks pretty decent! finally getting some good games for the PS3 coming out.

I just played the Wii this past night, and creating this ridiculous character was more fun than any game (hurt so much laughing), but still don't see anything special unfortunately .

And I got 260,000+ on Guitar Hero for Cherub Rock, and I started on Expert! Even Flow at 83%

Me and my brother created a mii for his fiancee, with her watching, and since she is a real grump we made her all grumpy. was great. and she wants happy about it haha.

Problem is they are the only two good games for it... well... I ain't played Mario Galaxy which is supposed to be good.

My friend who put the Wii in my room just finished it last night, looked pretty nice and colorful and he had fun, and I think he said it was better than Mario 64.

And creating Miis is awesome, despite lacking deeper editing possibilities


Edit: I played a little bit of Resident Evil 4, seemed to be a good game too but you can see how not powerful the Wii is
