rFactor, NR2003, GPL and LFS are the only ones worth trying really. The rest just arent up to the task of major online racing

Have any fun moments?

In my first try i got allocated the same pit box as another car, so whenever we pitted our cars epxloded into a shower of strange random metal bits

At the start the pace car warped through the entire field, causing us all to retire. when we got going half the field retired from lag accidents.

Net code is actually worse than F1Cs, which was pretty bad.

According to who?

The demo was more impressive than the final game was lol. It has nice shiny graphics, but you could tell it was Simbins first product. GTL should be a good bit better, if less appealing to most.

big red was the bomb!

I enjoyed F1C online, twas a good laugh, but it was a bi poo on the net code side.

The prerelease demo thingy of GTR did look good. Amazing graphics, and the sense of being in a racing car was top stuff too.

The problem for me was there was a complete lack of feel to the car, which we were always told this is a alpha/beta or whatever and it will be improved - but it never was.

Also the release of it was slightly cocked up, even if it wasn't Simbins fault directly.

GTR was appauling. The AI didnt work, online didnt work, hot lapping didnt work. What exactly are you going to use it for?

why didnt hotlapping work?

Re: Online Racing Games

Because the track got faster the more cars than ran on it, which is a nice feature, but it meant anyone who let the AI cars run around for an hour then did a lap was 1-2 seconds faster than people who did stright hot lapping. Im still an admin on GTR-Rank and theres alot of arguments over it still. It makes the ranks pointless.

I see, its the same with nr2003 though really with the weather. As sims get more advanced thats going to be the case more and more as in reality track conditions dont stay the same. I suppose they could just implement a hotlap mode where conditions are constant easily enough and only have those laps count towards a rank.
