GTR Problem- Need Help Before I go Insane

Okay, i found it finally last night and bought it.

To put it simply i am very pissed off.

I installed it, nothing seems to be wrong.

Try to play it for the first time, so i have to enter the code, so i do as instructed.


Then it goes to the please wait. verifying cd. screen.

It does nothing, the computer freezes and so does my brain. I let it go for all night hoping that would work to no avail.

It freezes where the bar starts (never moves) at about 15%

So, is this a known problem or what?

Is there anything i can do about it?

(oh, btw, dont give me any warez crap, this game was purchased legally from a shop ive never had any trouble with or anything).

The problem is StarForce. I duno how to fix it, but that is your problem.

Huh? CMR05 works fine, and that uses starforce.

although that is a dvd rom, so its probably a differnt program,

i am currently doing a massive search and found alot of starforce stuff, but nobody with the same problem

Well the game hasnt started by that point, only the starforce software has. So either the CD is damaged, or starforce has bollocked it up somewhere. Tried closing all other programs possible?

never thought of that, maybe CMR05 is causing the problem, different version of software and such, later i will start that up see if it works, if not then there is something with starforce.
