Have proper modelling plugins and stuff not been released yet to the general public? :S Well I spose even if they have, they would be for 3dsmax which people would only have illegally probably since it is so expensive and therefore less people would have it and you can't get those plugins to work with zmodeller.

having played with the f1 mini mod, i have to say this game has uber-potential! I was following a toyota for ages and (from about 100yrds away) it looked so real! The shape of the Formula IS cars suck and are a bit too crazy quick but its great fun. the f3 cars are ace too. When they fix the AI it will rock hard!

Well earlier graphics cards had Dx 7 or Dx 8 as their 'native' Dx version. As a result, they don't like running higher versions very much. So you can choose in rF which version to use, and it means that you can actually run the game at playable FPS. Dx 9 is the best, but it's better to run at 40+FPS with most the details on max in Dx7 than in Dx9 with all details on low and about 10FPS! Anyone with a Dx 9 card though can run Dx9 fine.

Yup, bare in mind that any computer can install any version of the DirectX software, but not all graphics cards can support DX8 or DX9 features, so they are forced to use DirectX 7 mode.

In Chets example his card can support DX8 and DX9, but the card is too slow to be able to use them usefully.

thats the same situation as me then. At the mo i get ok fps but if i have mirrors on it suffers badly. also, when i go past the pits it suffers aswell.

i have dx9 installed, does that mean i have lost dx7 then? or does it store them all?
