technically. not too sure how well it'll work but there's a way of doing it now with no coding needed - not sure if it'll 'reset' at the correct time tho (or at all :p)

Whats the reason for the background pic? has someone been putting the 91 mod in?

just looks to be a background pic for one of the random "F1 mods" (which are painted up cars on the origional)

God I really don't see the point of all such stuff - if I was to buy a new racing game atm it would be GTL and not this cos it's so unpolished and I haven't seen anything good released - too much crap.

What on earth is the point of people just "painting" the original cars to be old f1 style. It's just crap and silly. Also, they aren't even resizing the textures to make them bigger, it's still the same really low res trite. It just is a bit sad really, s'made out to be such a huge modding base and all I've seen apart from the porsche thing is totally unpolished - and even with stuff like that, there are a lot of actual features that the game is lacking :S

Does the latest patch fix the actual "feel" of the front wheels and stuff, so you get at least some indication of when the car is giving way/

Hudson Kerrs released his Toban hi res update, picked that up and his sky textures pack ( having a few problems getting them to work, buts down to my ineptitude not his textures ) Some people have baulked at the prospect of paying for updates by the community but what it cost me to get these, i spend about the same on a packet of twenty fags. ( i've packed up now though :) )

And i'll get more enjoyment of this :)

did you have SLN's update installed before, LS? you have to remove all of that, iirc it has a few loose files. Apparently these will get used ahead of the HK stuff (assume it's in a mas...) in any case I'm sure the HK update should look different to taht (asphalt especially :P)

Cant remember if i did or i didnt its been that long since i updated it and i cant get to a original Toban folder either because of the way that Rfactor is distributed

Is there anywhere i can download the original installation folder? or cant you get to the folders because you have to unlock before hand?

you should be able to go to rFactor\GameData\Locations\Toban and delete any loose file in there which isn't a mas file - my install is stock and has the 5 layout folders and toban.mas, toban_rev.mas and tobanmap.mas only. would prob be best to reapply the HK update after that (not sure how it works, installer or something?)

as far as I know it should look something more like this: [forum.rscnet.org]

removed all the loose files and copied across Hudsons update, and to be honest i preferred the version above with SLN's track updates, the new tarmac that comes with Hudsons is'nt half as good

I still have the same skys too, nothings changed
