Who here plays guitar?

I was just wondering. WHat kind of guitar do you have? This is my one, nothing too expensive -

ive got a les paul studio (cherry sunburst) and a fender acoustic.

ive been playing for about 4 years with varying success. i mostly play stuff like oasis, foo fighters and such like but ive been learning stuff by my favourite band alter bridge, but im fed up of changing the tuning!

what sorta stuff do u play mikey?

i played a geetar yesterday at my mates house party

try and play some drop d stuff on a acoustic

but yes im goin to start learning... i have long fingers :P

yeah i got freakishly long fingers so its quite easy, but im a total novice atm =/
@ bigD - cos foos are my fave band, i play (or try to) a lot of their stuff, but also kaiser chiefs, jimi hendrix, g'n'r, queens of the stoneage, red hot chili peppers etc..the best thing i can play is purple haze - jimi hendrix, or more likely, sweet child o' mine by guns'n'roses.

i've been playing just over 2 years , i did have an epiphone sg till thurs but sold it, but with the money + some ive saved im buying a gibson sg from my guitar teacher

the sg is a nice guitar. my next purchase will be a PRS Singlecut if i can find one for a good price in a nice finish. otherwise ill hunt down a platinum Tremonti edition.

is that an ibanez? (?). my dream guitars are gibson explorer (or x-plorer as gibson call it now) and a gibson sg standard..mmmm if only i had money lol

Mines a Washburn x21. Quality guitar for low price.

Been playing ooh, about 5 years, wasted a few years on playing Nirvana powerchords, now play a lot of Led Zeppelin stuff, some Stereophonics, Audioslave. A lot of my own stuff too. Best thing i can play is prolly Black Dog or Heartbreaker by Led Zepp.

Don't really thing much of the Gibsons i have to say, but i would absolutely love a Fender Tele.

I've been playing for 4 years, and I got a wesley electric which I haven't played for long, some spanish make acoustic which I play my classical grade stuff on (6 at the moment) and a vintage brand electro-acoustic which is soley being used for tenacious d and other acoustic rock at the moment. I'll try to get some pics up.

Don't spend much on my electric as I use acoustic more

does anyone know for sure if something like an epiphone is better suited to fingers of the fatter variety?

fender and alike styled guitars are too narrow.

beeing a slash fan and jimi hendrix.. and pretty much of all the legends i had to start playing guitar... dunno when i started but i've been playing for a while..


those are my baby's... a dream would be to havea Gibson Les Paul standard with Seymore Duncan pickups..

I think Gibsons have quite fat necks and epiphone's are replica's so they may be, just go to a shop and try some.

gibson make different neck's for different guitars really.. you can get a les paul standard with fat and slim neck... i think it's like that for all guitars..

I play a crappy Squire strat. I've got no money to get a new one yet, but at the moment i'm looking at getting a Squire Thinline Tele.



Set-up at the moment

Guitar: Squire Strat
Amplifier: Peavey Rage 158
Effects: BOSS SD-1, MT-2, CS-3, Zoom 505, KORG AX-10G

ive got the two standard covered humbuckers in my les paul, but ive been thinking about putting in a heavier pickup at the bridge end. any suggestions for a good set? i thought about emg, but i think that would unbalance the tone of the guitar too much/

seymour duncan make very good pickups, lots of variety too to get the sound you want.
