the Prodrive Button's 1st Win model isn't too bad actually, with special packaging:

is it just a Minichamps car with 3rd party packaging? or is it made by a completely separate company? some sellers of this model are advertising it as being by Minichamps, so are they lying?

anyone seen any pics of the actual Minichamps one yet?

they're in the £20-£30 price range if you bid. one guy has it for £35 Buy It Now with a few ££ for postage to add on top.

thinking of pre-ordering the Minichamps 1:43 one from GPL. also considering the Lewis 1st Test MP4-21 and 1st-Race/1st-Podium MP4-22 models.

Where's the best place to look for display cases? I just picked up a 1/12 Russian Age Racing DBR9 by Solido for £25...

I know very little about these things hehe - i just thought it would look good in my new study :-p

Ebay worth a butchers?

hmm, i've just had a look on ebay and the only 1:12 cases they do are for 1:12 bikes. plenty of 1:18 cases for cars though...

a 1:12 Aston must be massive! please post pics!!

edit: had a look on GPL, they also only have 1:18 car cases and 1:12 bike cases, but they have this large case that can hold two 1:18 cars, so i would guess that it should be big enough to hold one 1:12 car (it might not do though), it's £40: [www.grandprixlegends.com]

ah right, well in that case there are loads of 1:18 cases on ebay: [search.ebay.co.uk]

and GPL also sells Minichamps cases: [www.grandprixlegends.com]

they're £14.99 each, but in their catalogue they have an offer of 2 for £19.99. they are the cheapest and lowest quality of case they stock, but they also sell slightly better quality cases for £24.99 each: [www.grandprixlegends.com]

i've never bought cases so i can't recommend one over the other, but i'd say that you should check out ebay first and see if you can get one for a better price, something like this would be suitable at £11 plus £4.50 p&p: [cgi.ebay.co.uk]

yep, and there's bound to be someone who simply can't wait to get their hands on one so will pay it, eventually.

prodrive ones ARE NOT minichamps!

minichamps ones are of a higher detail and have extra bits and unique parts!

the aero package on the Prodrive one looks pretty accurate though, doesn't it?

oh yeh...itll be basically the same thing, but these prodrive models usually make other sorts of cars, so am unsure their detailing, minichamps has the standing figure too and will have a fancy plaque like special editions. plus a nice casing too.

oh yeah i know that, but am just wondering if Prodrive actually made them (or got another company to make them), OR, did they buy/source Minichamps RA106 models, and add them to their own packaging?

no doubt the actual Minichamps one will be better, just wondering about the car used here.
