Sounds very interesting, Stu. For the track I'd suggest Donington or old Hockenheim.

Oh I like the sound of this ;)

I would suggest Tumyeto's Yas Marinas circuit.

My suggestions are Monaco or Silverstone with Arena layout. Adelaide or Indianapolis former F1 layout could also work.

If Ed goes for Scala and all top drivers go to small teams that means...

I'll drive for AMR!!

Sounds like an absolute scream - I'd love to see this :D

Sounds fun...I'd agree with Donington or Yas Marina.

Great idea with the fun race (hope i may participate :-p).

For the track, Brands Hatch (either Indy or GP) is great.
Great idea, and for circuit something like yas marina or indianapolis sounds good to me.

Out of interest will it be just a qualifying and race, therefore requiring only 22 drivers? or will it have a test session? I say as a driver outside the top 22 looking to take part ;-)

Well I would be open to running a test version too, but maybe only one driver per team. I don't know yet. I will have to look at the numbers before making an announcement. Of course I wouldn't want this to snowball and create far too much work, but we'll see :)

5 x WCC - S5, S6, S7, S8, S10 | 4 x WDC - S5 Nick van der Voort ; S6, S7, S8 Ed Greenhalgh | 2 x WTC - S6 Stuart Ingers; S8 Andrei Sevastian

I wonder how many team bosses will remain loyal to their drivers?

Unless I'm very much mistaken... I am very much mistaken!
I also like the idea. Mostly because it'd be interesting to see how a top driver handles a car with a lower perf. That can be really exciting to see, too.

As for the tracks I agree with everything but Monaco. As this shall be a test for next season, too, it should be a track where overtaking is possible.

GPGSL : Team Owner of 'Maverick Track Performance' (MTP)
Good idea about the non championship race, I think it will be a lot of fun.

As for the circuits I would like to see, about anything that is not designed by Herman Tilke will do, so something like Donington or the old Hockenheimring. But John also made a good point about having the possibility to overtake, we should really keep that in mind.

Thought about this test race idea today whilst battling through a queit day at work : If drivers are going to be put in different cars etc, why not have the bottom finishing team get the services of the top 2 drivers in the championship, the 2nd bottom team gets 3rd and 4th place drivers, 3rd bottom team gets drivers 5th and 6th in championship etc....

Does that make sense? Take the driver perfs for each driver and swap them around, and see how things pan out with these changes. And then if we go with this single lap qualifying and 1 pit stop race, this could be a pretty cool bit of fun!!

As for a track, what about Indianapolis or Jerez.

This sounds like a lot fun and a really interesting experiement! Ikd be all for a test session too :)

I think Jerez would be a cracking venue. Crack the sangria out!
Sounds like an awesome idea!!! I dont know what is smartest, letting the teamowners choose or an automatic sort of reversed drivers compared to the teams..

Dont think we should mix race and testdrivers though..

Looking forward to this idea!

I think that the teams should pick drivers (like Stu suggested, one at a time) no holds barred, all drivers available. Left over drivers get picked for the tester race, where they are partnered by their team boss. The order of teams could be drawn from a hat maybe...but I wouldn't want this to create too much work, so maybe reverse championship standings.

And the venue. A track with tons of overtaking, maybe 25% rain or something? As I said before, maybe Donington. Quite like Gareth and Glen's suggestion of Jerez too...

It's all about the booze associated with the venue. If someone has anywhere pina coladas are appropriate, my vote switches to there ;)
All sounds really interesting, sounds like we have some interesting new ideas for next season. As long as we find someone to contain Ed ;) Surely it's MPRs chance to be Constructors Champions now

Sad to be entering my last weekend as part of the GPGSL. Think it's only fair to give the new guys a chance. Face it I won't ever race again now.

We doing anything special to commemerate the end of the season? A testdrivers race perhaps? Could be good if someone is willing to run it.

Races: 163 - Wins: 23 - Pole Positions: 24 - Fastest Laps: 22
Season 9: Constructors' Champions
For the non-championship-race: Will "accidentally" resigned drivers (third warning) be able to race? I would propose that. Those that are active again or atleast read it and start posting should be allowed to drive, whatever perf they get.
