Just a tad ;-)

I'm afraid unless no one else wants the seat he'll just have to keep waiting.

All the other guys on the waiting list are part of the GP2 Series though

That series looks pretty much dead

F1 Manager 2005 - German Grand Prix - Qualifying

There was a surprise at the top of the timesheets in qualifying for the German Grand Prix as the Sauber of Nick Heidfeld took pole position ahead of Felipe Massa's Ferrari. Renault had a good session as Rubens Barrichello and David Coulthard qualified in 3rd an 5th. They were separated by the Williams of Michael Schumacher. Mclaren had a decent session, qualifying, getting their cars in 8th and 9th but Toyota had a dismal session with Ralf Schumacher finishing last and Da Matta finishing 19th.

^^That

And even if it was still running we only introduced the GP2 series as spin off series so those on the F1 waiting list could get some experience under their belts so once a spot did open up in this series, they would be ready to jump right in. Plus you'd also find that most of the participants in the GP2 series wouldn't think twice about rejecting a slot in F1.

Very unfortunately unless Reve appears all of a sudden. Fingers crossed that he does however and that we can get on with it.

I'm also just posting to say that I'm still active on the forums, I do visit it every day even if I do post quite rarely.
Which is unfortunate, however I don't understand why you should be allowed to have a team in GP2 and be on the waiting list for the F1 Series.

That would be like me being on the waiting list for a new team in the GPGSL, whilst I already have one. Also have any of the managers on that list made any inquiries about joining the F1 Series since Jake offered to give up his team to help with the perf calculations?

Just my points, If I can not take over as the Minardi/Toro Rosso manager then it is not the end of the world

It's a shame we don't have a copy of the Perfs really as it could continue if we did.

Also Twigster, what are the current plans for next season regarding the management of the series?

I'm 4 on the waiting list, and I'd happily take on a team if the 3 above me (regular john, Addrodoc, Pluis) don't want it.
I'd obviously give up my GP2 team if that happened, but as John & Twigster have said, it's pretty much dead.
Not to bad. Zonta has potential of getting points while Glock needs a good solid drive and some luck for once.
BAR
Bad qualifying session for us.
Sauber

Now that's a surprise!! Lets get some points!!
Toyota

Absolutely dismal quali from us!!..We are at a loss to understand our pace drop off even though we are bringing new parts to testing...Not optimistic for the race

Because essentially the GP2 series was just an overflow for the F1 series as we were getting to the point where we had nine or ten people waiting for months on end for the rare occasion when a seat in the main series would open up, and as we had enough numbers on the waiting list we created the GP2 series basically just to give them something to do with the mean time. The way I see it doesn't really seem logical or fair to give away the position to someone who has only been on the waiting list for a few weeks, over someone who has been on it for 5 or 6 months just because we gave them the option of being bored, or being entertained.

That would surely defy the point of having a waiting list in the first place? When positions have opened up in the past I've always been the one to approach whoever is next in line, not the other way around. Anyway none of this really matters any more considering that, for the time being, the GP2 series is inactive.

With hindsight, not using the same perf system for both series was a major flaw in the plan and it was also a big error on my part for allowing Reve to have such a free reign in that aspect as it also made converting GP2 driver perfs to F1 driver perfs quite complicated.

To be honest with Jake kindly volunteering to manage the budgets and such next year I believe most of the 'departments' are filled. The only major thing left to do is the mod compilation which if worst comes to worst I wouldn't mind doing and then allowing the race directors to update it as the season progresses.

Good to hear it's all sorted. How many race directors do we have?

not too bad. Pleased with Michael's qualify. Jacques will improve during the race.

At the moment I think there is yourself, Kedy, Alesi and I believe Dan volunteered recently in case we were running low on race directors :)

Who heads up the whole thing then? We've got Kedy, Alesi, John and possibly Dan on races and me on budgets and transfers. I don't know who does perfs either...

No one really as all that's left to manage is the mod compilation and keeping the OP updated, which after once it's been setup literally only takes a few minutes. As for the perfs John is looking after them next season.
