:-) Yes agreed & of course I have been around PC gaming long enough to
know but.......Personally I just moved to Asia & left my desktop in the US

I have a laptop here & was happy to see Tom release a laptop version
of GP4. It runs very well on my laptop & I like it a lot.

When I read about Tom's competition I noted it said
""This championship uses the 2013 Mod by GP4 Central (Laptop Edition)""..
I guess I thought that meant the competition was done on laptops ;-)

It is not a problem for me but I thought I might ask
Thanks though

I too am running GP4 with the 2013 Mod by GP4 Central (Laptop Edition) on my Windows7 laptop
and had no problems at all. Easy to install new circuits each race venue having their own diirectory.

I also run Grand Prix 3 (Grand Prix 3 v1.13-MOD F1 2012 (Release date: 15/12/12) by NemesisF1)
and have had no problems with that either.

I've amended the pre-season testing schedule to just 2 events (1 Hotlap and 1 Race). The season will start earlier now. Also, the release date for the 2014 mods will be 18-July 2014. This will give you a week to shakedown the new cars before the Barcelona test event ;). The season proper starts on 15-August 2014.

Revised schedule:

18-Jul - 2014 Mods Release
25-Jul - Pre-Season Event #1
3-Aug - Pre-Season Event #2
15-Aug - Season 2 Event #1

GP4CC Season 2

Today the GP4CC Season 2 Schedule is announced. There will be 2 testing events followed by 7 main events, comprising 5 hotlaps and 2 races.

It's just 2 weeks until pre-season testing starts, and 1 week until the 2014 Mod is released, so it's time to start thinking about which team you'll be driving for this season*. To help you decide, here is the GP4 Central 2014 Mod Form Guide:

* = you can change teams at any point during the season, as many times as you want. The only restriction is that you must keep your name and number.

I would like to have some doubts answered:

Quote
3.2 : Traction Control (F7) and Launch Control (F9) driver aids are prohibited for all Wheel-using participants that also have a fuel penalty applied for a particular event.

Does that mean that a driver without penalty can use these aids?

Why Keyboard drivers are not penalized with this too?

In the Calendar I see we have several USA hotlaps and some other places. Can you be please be more specific in what track of each event? Just the track, i dont mean witch Gp4 track.

Last i read the W05 in the rules said that a penalised driver cant use it. Im wondering if a driver can use it the first event (lets say he beats everyone) can he choose another car for
other hotlaps that he has to drive with penalty? Must a driver use a Team all the season?
If we are using a team all sesason i take the Williams Mercedes.

Hey Jorge - here are my answers:

Yes.

Wheel users have a natural advantage over keyboard users already. This is my attempt to "even out" this advantage.

Yes, I will announce the season 2 tracks next week. :-)

At the first event, the fuel penalties will be decided by the championship positions at the end of season 1.

No, you can change teams at any point during the season, as many times as you want. The only restriction is that you must keep your name and number.

Hi Tom,

Good to know. (Y)

I think the rules needs a little fix for the ammount of fuel penalty a driver gets.
Example P1 = 5 fuel laps, P2 = 3 fuel laps, P3 = 1 fuel lap or what ever order it is. The thing it needs to be put in the rules so that its clear.

What i do think is a little unfair is that the top 3 drivers of season 1 get fuel penalty from the start of season 2.
Each season is diferent, independent of each other. Its a fresh start for everyone each season.
In the years i raced in the Gp4 leagues this is the first time i see that drivers get penalized from the start of a season.

Good point, I agree. OK, no fuel penalties for Round 1 (Y).

For the fuel penalty amounts, I have not decided 100% yet, so it is not written in the rules. I am testing it myself to see how much difference it makes, and then I will announce the fuel penalty amounts.
