No prob Tom about replays...just thought I would mention it
in case someone looked back at one of thier saved hotlaps.
Was good of you to include the. Bak file too..made it easy.

Hola Bata,

Soy Jorge, me resultas conocido de simracing.com.ar
Yo segui estos años con el Gp4 haciendo pistas y mods para el juego.

Hace unos 3 meses Tom inicio la liga y salio el 1er torneo de hotlaps.
Hablando de carreras fijate en el calendario de los eventos del 2do torneo
vamos a tener 2 carreras y vamos a tener otra mas despues en la pretemporada.
En la 2da carrera de la temporada vamos a tener TL para clasificar y para correr como en los
viejos tiempos !!

El tema de carreras 100% de distancia es algo dificil de realizar porque no queda gente como la
de antes que les gustaba hacer ese tipo de carreras.
La manera mas practica para ese tipo de eventos es hacer esas carreras por etapas osea
haces X distancia y guardas la partida cuando entras a los pits, se hace lo mismo hasta completar la
carrera.

jorge te consulto a vos o a quien corresponda, no puedo ver las hotlap de los chicos que las han subido, por que sera, puse el replay al maximo igual no las puedo ver, tendre algo mal yo?? si podes mira mi hotlap por si tiene algun error en mi configuracion de juego.

Hola Bata,

Pues mire la vuelta que enviaste y tenes todo correcto tanto en seteo del juego como
como en la conduccion dentro del juego.

Decime que vuelta queres ver? Quizas tambien puede ser que no veas la vuelta
porque puede estar corrupto porque el que hizo la hotlap puso el punto de restauracion muy cerca
a la linea de meta.

ya parece lo solucione, consulta , con que programa se puede abrir el volante para cambiarle el color a los numeros de los cambios, antes lo hacia creo era uno que habria los .wad, ya no lo recuerdo, para poder notar mejor en que cambio vas cuando usas la vista desde el cokpit.

Here is a nice set of 2014 V6 Turbo sounds courtesy of Briere and LuiGigi48. Just replace your Samples folder with this new one (make a backup just in case!).

Since sounds do not affect performance you are free to use them during the competition.

Season 2 Pre-Season Testing #2

A slight overlap between the two testing events this season because we want to get on with the real events!

Pre2 is a 3-lap quickrace event at another typical testing venue, Bahrain (Sakhir) 2013 v1.06 by jcaranti, a great version of this track with massive attention to detail.

We have only tried a race event once before in the GP4CC and the turn-out was, well, not very good! So I really need some entries to ensure the mechanism works, as it is quite different to hotlaps.

Some things to note:

1) The aim of the race event is to set the quickest race finishing time. It is not about what position you finish on the track. So it's just like 3 hotlaps in a row.

2) The rule that forbids going off track with all 4 wheels is ignored for race events because you cannot reset like a hotlap. That doesn't mean you can take shortcuts though, I'll be watching!!

3) There is no weather seed for race events. Set GPxSet to "Ignore" the weather seed.

Im wondering why in the event page show that i have a penalty for the race???

To be truthfull i would have not mind if they told me not to participate !!.

Im wondering when others will improve instead of penalizing a driver that does what he does well and legal.

Jorge - it's only testing. I am trying to work out a balance to make it competitive for both experienced racers and new blood . I have already tweaked the penalties once, and I will happily make more changes if the balance is not fair, but the best way to judge the balance is to have these testing events.

For the race events there are no fuel penalties. The only restrictions are Traction Control and Steering Help:

- Traction Control is banned because it is banned in real life.

- Steering Help is only restricted to 50%.

I'm certainly not trying to dissuade you from competing, just trying to make you work harder abrazo

I think your doing a good job & handicapping is more than fair.
Not many sports of non-professionals does not include some form of handicapping
because as you say it brings in new players.

Not to mention your not singling out anyone & have 4 handicapped as is
& your handicaps are not overbearing

Also not all use wheels,decent computers etc. etc. etc.
So... I think your doing very well & providing a fun event

Your certainly doing a big job disuading me.
Barcelona with the fuel penalty, TC and SH with the original .dat the best i can do is 1m21.0.
With the .dat with 2014 magic data i tried and the best i could do 1m20.67

By the end of the even i will be last or near their.


Explain how that is fair at all ....

OK so this is the information I need. Depends on the car you're using but that means that you, Supermonty and me (top 3 in season 1) would all be separated by less than 0.1 seconds in Pre1. That tells me the penalty distribution is good, but maybe the total is too high. This is why we are testing

Also don't forget that only 4 of the 7 events will have fuel penalties.

Ofcouse GP4 does not have exactly an ERS system thats why F7 can be interpreted that way.

What i see is you and the others putting more restrictions on top drivers due to their lack of improvement of
the slow drivers. In real F1 their is NO RESTRICTIONS on a particular driver or top 3 drivers.
The rules are exactly the same for everyone with no additional penalties.

This is by FAR the most restrictions i have ever seen in the Gp4 leagues ever existed
as yes including the glory days of it when their was many quality drivers around.

In all the leagues i ever saw for Gp4 the aids that were banned were: F1 - F3 and F4. ALL OTHER AIDS WERE ALLOWED.

When we voted what we would have like to see in season 2 to make it fair and i said CUMULATIVE FUEL PENALTY SYSTEM.
I DID NOT SAY PUT THE MAXIMUM FUEL PENALTY TO A DRIVER FOR THE NEXT EVENT.!!!. THATS CRAZY, THATS NUTS!!!.
A driver wins get 5.0 fuel penalty 2nd 3.0 fuel penalty 3rd 1.0 fuel penalty. If a drivers is outside the top 3 he gets -5.0 fuel penalty
but if he is within the top 3 he gets more fuel penalty. Example> 1st event a driver wins he gets 5.0 fuel penalty, same driver next event finishes
3rd their for 5.0 + 1.0 total of 6.0 fuel penalty of the next event.

Other idea buts its restricted too would be the use of Hard tyre compoud by the top 3 and NO FUEL PENALTY but all aids allowed exept F1, F3 and F4.
Thats very fair to everyone. I know this because i saw it and i participated with it.

An "absolute" system is simple and has the same effect. However. you are right that bringing in the full penalties at event 2 will feel 'harsher' than a cumulative system. Let's just see how it works.

Well that may be, but I would still argue that:

1) At each track we will use my 2014 magic data which reduces fuel consumption by about 33%, so the fuel penalties are not as harsh as they seem (e.g. a 15 fuel lap penalty in my competition is equal to a 10 fuel lap penalty in the old days).

2) Only 4 events are fuel penalized.

As I say, let's just see how it works. I think it will be good. It might be bad. If it's bad, we'll make it better.
