GPGSL Season 6 Complete!

That track looks horrible graphics wise.

My Grand Prix 4 Files

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
but it's much fun to drive, like most of the old tracks.

We have an agreement with Caranti that Nickv negotiated sometime ago. We don't use his tracks and he doesn't create a racing league anything remotely like the GPGSL.

Personally, I thought it would be good for Caranti to have us promote his circuits, but he doesn't agree and took great exception when we used Kyalami and Donington Park. So the agreement was witten and I have a copy somewhere.

His track info files include the following:

Permission
**********
Nobody has the permission to include this track in any trackpack, mod etc., to use in any gp4 racing league or to upload as dowload link in any web site without the authorization of the authors.

So we are not even allowed to post a link to his tracks! Something that came up recently in another thread on GPG.

What a joke. I totally agree with Dan about this.

Yeah, I guess it was deeper than I realise. I never knew about the 'deal', so thanks for highlighting that for me, and others.

But it still crosses the line of utterly ridiculous.

TNR are going to test extensively at Kyalami, Donnington and Singapore for the winter season.

:P

I can somewhat understand the need for an agreement. If we did use his tracks though, would anybody seriously join a league that he setup after the fuss he has created.

GPGSL - Christel VXR team Boss S6-S8, S12 Onwards

Can't see the point of creating a track for then forbid us its use. Kind of a "See here, I made a track and you can't use it! Nah nah nana nah!"
Isn't there another version from a more rational author available?

Stats: 139 Starts / 7 Wins / 9 Poles / 5 Fastest laps
So, I think ridiculous!!

Sorry, who is this Jorge? What an idiot. Surely if he is sharing his work for free online, it's in the public domain and anyone is allowed to utilise it as long as we don't sell it as our own.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unless I'm very much mistaken... I am very much mistaken!
Sorry Owen, don't mean to be rude, but that's actually not true. I could give you a whole copyright law lecture now, but for your and my good I'll leave that. Only so much, this guy can do what he is doing for a law-perspective, but I agree that it's absolutely ridiculous and I'm tired of hearing his cant that he'd be the victim in this.

I also completely understand you, Dan, that you're frustrated about this. Believe me, I'm too.

But, either way, as Stu has pointed out there is an agreement with him and the GPGSL shouldn't be the one to break it. That makes any further discussion pointless, IMO.

GPGSL : Team Owner of 'Maverick Track Performance' (MTP)
So what other tracks are people interested in?

As enjoyable as following only real F1 tracks is, I quite like the few irregular and unexpected ones. If not just for the nice unusual graphics.

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it
Can only hope F1 Virtual post a few of the great looking tracks they are working on!!! Or are F1 Virtual tracks off limits due to possible involvement from a certain person....

Gildoorf's good old Dubai and Piranema are winners in my mind. As Dan mentioned earlier, maybe Uqbar or Vallelunga could get a run. And the AMS Renault Test Track looks like a great layout.
Might be time for Rolling Hills to make a return??
Maybe a track in the USA needs a go. Detroit or Phoenix perhaps?

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
The mighty Österreichring would be fantastic!

Gentlemen, I have been advised that if I remove the ban on J Caranti, we can use his tracks.
Apparently BB has had his ban removed on gp4forever and it has been decided there that the pointless war that has raged for some years between BB and JC...(yes this saga has actually gone on now for some years) has to stop. So now I have what seems to me a case of blackmail left at my door. Perhaps a show of good faith would be in order, I'm open to suggestions on the direction that should be taken with this.

I think Rubens was working on the old Osterreichring and released a beta, but I'm not sure if there was any more progress.

You have a pm Mal.
