GPGSL Belgian Grand Prix, Spa-Francorchamps
Race Day
Welcome back to the Spa-Francorchamps circuit for the Belian Grand Prix. It's a beautiful day and the forecast says it will stay that way. Aussie Glen Sheppard heads the grid on pole with Marko Aleksander joining him on the front row. It's Aussie domination, with Matt Houston and Championship leader Ed Greenhalgh making up the 2nd row.
The cars line up ready to take the start.
Championship rivals Aleksander and Greenhalgh get good starts.
On the run down to Eau Rouge its Aleksander in the lead from Sheppard and Greenhalgh.
Kittleson tries to take Hinz.
But runs wide.
And is collected by Hunsley, Kittleson is out.
Jalving in 7th with Greidanus and Warrington close behind.
Horváth attempts a pass on Greenhalgh, but fails.
At the end of lap 1 here's the standings.
In the previous caption Thomas is out, lets see the replay.
He's tangled with Hinz at Eau Rouge. Both are out.
Hunsley runs wide.
Aleksander sets fastest lap.
Aleksander starting to pull away from pole sitter Sheppard.
Jalving gets too wide and slips into the gravel.
Rejoins in 18th.
Cartwright down the inside of Johnson.
Johnson is forced wide.
As he rejoins, he is hit from behind by Pedersen.
Aleksander has now pulled out over a 2 second gap.
Johnson off road again.
Drops down to 19th.
Horváth also in trouble.
Shoots across the track and hits the wall.
5 laps gone.
Houston, having lost a position to Greidanus is now under pressure from Warrington.
Following lap and Houston puts a wheel on the grass and is passed by Warrington.
Elleker now close behind.
Whats this? Aleksander running slowly!
His transmission has let him down.
Don't go away, we'll be right back!

Sheppard now in the lead is so surprised he locks up.
He's off! Thats gifted the lead to Greenhalgh.
Meanwhile, Houston has pulled away from Elleker.
And runs out of talent.
Greenhalgh leads.
Close between Houston and Silvestre.
The Aussie Playboy is really struggling today.
Greidanus starts the pitstops.
10 laps gone.
The leader pits.
Warrington leads.
Jalving closely chased by Hunsley.
Warrington's turn to pit.
Greenhalgh leads again.
Warrington has jumped Greidanus in the pitstops.
But Ruben is fighting back.
Warrington holds him off.
Elleker locks up whilst defending his position from Cartwright.
Cartwright takes advantage of Elleker's error.
Houston is attacked by both Maverick and Karjalainen.
Houston makes yet another mistake and Maverick gets by.
Karjalainen has been held up by Houston regaining the track and has to defend from Pedersen.
Houston is off again!
He loses another four places.
Warrington keeping the gap between him and his team mate Greenhalgh pretty constant.
The marshals are still frozen to the spot after Aleksander's retirement.
Houston gets sideways through Eau Rouge and Oakley and Sheppard are right on top of him.
15 laps in the books, time to look at the current standings.
Houston just can't shake Oakley and Sheppard.
The pressure proves to be too much and he's off yet again.
This time, it's the last time.
Don't go back, we'll be right away!

Jack's doing really well again, especially seeing as he ran as high as 4th at one point. Hopefully Michael can climb a few more places.

Worseling runs off the beaten track.
He returns to the circuit right in front of Oakley and they collide.
Hunsley chases down Pedersen.
Greidanus still plugging away in 3rd.
The leader takes to the pitlane.
Elleker goes cross country.
He's hit by Karjalainen.
Both are out of the race.
Meanwhile Worseling decides to take a spin around the gracel trap.

Warrington pits for the second time and Greenhalgh resumes the lead.

Sorry Dean but there was little I could do, I was negotiating Eau Rouge on cold rubber and fairly heavy fuel and simply did not have the grip or time to avoid you. Besides I would've thought you'd have held off on the overtake and had a go down the Kemmel Straight, afterall it is common knowledge that we MACs have no straight line speed whatsoever

Mmmmm and 8th place at spa, no improvements seeing my qualifying position..
I had 1 off moment that dropped me back to 18th place.. Due to a good strategy, some nice overtaking and a few drop outs we got back in 8th place! A lot more was possible without the off moment..
Race starts: 141 | Points: 886 | Podiums: 35 | Race wins: 10
