Well, you gave me a rocket ship to steer, I took that rocket ship to a win at Zandvoort, and 3 consecutive fastest race laps in a row over the last three rounds!!! The points are accumulating! Told you when I signed on, "you give me a fast car, I will take it to the front!!"

I'm not holding any hope...team boosts are pretty much useless in my opinion, but hopefully with team AND driver boosts we might make an impact.

@All: Might take a while until the FP will be posted. For an unknown reason my GPX doesn't load the mod correctly anymore...right now you're all driving with good old Prosts, Arrows and Jaguars. I'm just reinstalling GP4, GPX and CSM completely, hope this'll work.

GPGSL Round 8: Hockenheim, Free Practice

Good day Ladies and Gentlemen,
here is again German GPGTV reporter Weiko Hasser speaking. I welcome you all to the beautiful Hockenheim-Ring race track where the Free Practice of the GPGSL Hockenheim-GP will start in a few seconds.


A glance on the weather monitor shows that there is a bit of rain expected for today but it shouldn't start in between of the session so that we consequently should have an all dry Free Practice.


Nevertheless the drivers don't waste much time and it is Rico van Smirren in the Christel VXR to set the first time of the day...looks solid but definitely not enough to keep the top contenders behind.


Although racing bunny Keely Grant isn't able to beat van Smirren's time...


Christel VXR teamowner in van Smirren's heavily boosted VSM is! Great round by Copeman!


Legge in his TGP car also easily beats van Smirren's time, but can't go with Copeman's time. 2nd so far.


But not for long...it looks like business really starts now. Kederer in TSS beats Copeman's time by nearly half a second!






Yet that's still not good enough! Ingers in his AMR snatches P1 from Kederer soon after.










Thomas in his SCR taking 3rd, that seemed to be a decent first stint.












Pedersen in the second VSM not looking as good as Copeman despite of profiting from this huge boost as well. I'm really wondering if this boost will work out this time in the main race!




McGregor in his MAC car looking good in 9th after his brilliant drive in Imola.


So, the first round of stints is over, let's have a look at the temporary results.




Oh, we see that Dan Paddock in his MPR hasn't set a time yet. Was he even out? It looks like we've missed that because all the action in the first stints.


Oh wait...he answers that himself. He waited for a clear track and this might work out for him, meeting a very good first sector.


And the second sector is even better! Will he snatch P1 from Ingers?


No! It wasn't enough in the end. Ingers' third sector was really brilliant as far as we can tell already.


Not much action for a while until Connor Steer brings in the next improvent...yet it's only good for P18...


...but at least better than Stokel for Snake Motorsports. P20...and so far it doesn't look like a good day for that team.


DeBoer for SCR improving to 9th, he's showing a solid performance so far.


As does Somogyi in his TSS. It looks like he managed to calm down again after he got his panties in a bunch after his mistake at the Imola feature race.


And wow, what's that! From nowhere Dan Mills comes with a new fastest lap and snatches the lead from Stuart Ingers!




But it's looking good that Ingers might take it back immediately...he's in front after sector two...


...but aborts the round as it was his in-lap already and he might not have had enough fuel to finish another round. Unfortunate for him.


Seeing that Copeman, despite the massive boost, still struggles in 11th doesn't give hope for VSM and the main event...


...but at least he manages to improve to 9th with this stint.






And racing bunny Grant? It looks like she's having a relaxing session at the back of the field.


Seeing her only in her wide racing suit all the time, I really wonder if she has as nice looking curves as her car.




Err...okay enough of that, let's concentrate back on business. Here are the temporary results with only a bit more than 9 minutes to go.






Grant's teammate and MAC teamowner McGregor improves to 14th. Solid but unluckily out of the points.


And drama on the track! Van Smirren, who is on a fast lap, is overtaken by Dan Mills who is in his out-lap. Why does Mills need to spoil van Smirren's round this way?


The latter re-takes Mills at the next straight...


...but the Intermediate time shows that this maneuver definitely cost time.


Is his own team doing better? 13th from Pederson still doesn't give much hope.


Tafuro makes it better and improves to 7th.


And superb from Grant. She isn't last anymore and improves to 20th. Maybe she should stop painting her nails during her fast laps...that might help.


And Edwards makes it a 1 and 3 for TNR. Very good session for these boys.


Ingers, however, after his very fast in-lap earlier on is now unable to put it on the track again.


And leader Mills gets the paycheck for his maneuver on van Smirren. Obviously he didn't warm the tyres correctly and had a big mistake unseen by the cameras...as he's way off the pace.


Worseling improving to 21st at least...giving the last position back to Stokel.


And shortly before the end, McGregor seems to be the last on a fast lap.


Oh no, wait. Kederer left the pits as well, but he's still in his out-lap...it could be that the TSS guys waited to long to send him out.


And the same is for Paddock and MPR.


McGregor sets a new personal best and improves to 15th...but seeing that the session is over already when he finishes his fast round...


...Kederer's fast lap will obviously not count anymore and neither does Paddock's. Really bad timing by these two teams.
