GPGSL Season 6 Complete!

Posted by GPGSL
Really sorry guys, it's been so hectic here I've not run the race. I don't know when I will be able to do it but I will extend the boost deadline for Hockenheim to compensate. So, as of now, there is no deadline untill further notice. Applications are still welcome though :)

5 x WCC - S5, S6, S7, S8, S10 | 4 x WDC - S5 Nick van der Voort ; S6, S7, S8 Ed Greenhalgh | 2 x WTC - S6 Stuart Ingers; S8 Andrei Sevastian
Glen will be running the race instead :)

Thanks again Glen ;)

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
Race has been run and won.... first instalment of race report should be posted soon....just got to sift through the loads of screenies.

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
The GPGSL 7th race on the calendar at the wonderful Imola circuit, saw Michael Pedersen sitting on the pole, with Ed Greenhalgh joining him on the front row. 39 laps lay ahead, with the 75% chance of wet weather heading towards the circuit. Some teams however, have been studying the radar, and don't think we will get wet in today's race. We shall see....

The 22 drivers sit on the grid, waiting for the lights to go green...

5 red lights, green next

The run through the Tamburello chicane for the first time...

Pedersen has lost the lead to Greenhalgh...

The run uphill towards Varianta Alta, and Greenhalgh has opened a small gap, whilst it is game on behind him...

Jack Elleker and Ross Cartwright are side by side heading towards the chicane...

And there is a huge accident!!

The replay shows what happened to cause this wreck...
Elleker has a run on Cartwright

Elleker is side by side the Southern Cross Holden of Cartwright...

Exiting the chicane, Cartwright drifts to the right, taking his racing line...

The two cars touch, sending both off track...Elleker begins to get airborne...

Elleker is completely rolled over, onto his rollbar...

Elleker is out of the race, but Cartwright is able to continue on....

Race leader Ed Greenhalgh leads the field after 1 lap...

Lap 2, and Ben Johnson is attacking Philip Oakley....

A touch as they enter the braking zone, and Johnson is facing backwards....

Pedersen leads Warrington on the second lap, running 2nd and 3rd positions...

With all the mayhem of the opening laps, Dean Kittleson has a queue of cars behind him...

Outbraking himself, Rodrigo Vilela runs wide...

And finds himself facing the wrong way after getting in the marbles...

Aston Martin Racing find themselves at the front of the field in the early going. Greenhalgh in 1st, Warrington in 3rd. Just out of shot, is Pedersen in the VSM entry...

The running order early in the race, with the 1st to 8th place drivers...

The running order early in the race, with the 9th to 16th place drivers...

Caught on replay, Silvestre attempts a pass going into the Tamburello chicance...

It fails, and he flies off backwards into the gravel trap...

No damage to the car...

He rejoins in last place

A close battle on track...

The midfield action rages on...

All of a sudden, cameras catch 2nd place driver, and pole sitter, Michael Pedersen slowing on the track...

He is off the racing line....

And out of the race, with suspension troubles...

And continues, with many drivers close together....

The TSS team mates are arguing over the same bit of track...

Aleksander loses out....

Lap 6, and the field sees a yellow flag been flown...

It's Philip Oakley, off in the gravel...

Replays show that Oakley went off on his own...

Oakley rejoins the track, right in the battle with Silvestre and Aleksander...

Trying hard after his spin, a brake lockup into the turn...

Matt Houston is hot on the heels of fellow Aussie, Glen Sheppard...

The two MAC Racing entries are lined up behind Nick Worseling...

Uh-oh, more trouble for Cartwright, as he is seen spinning midway through the Tamburello corners...

The replay doesn't need much explaining...

Cartwright, sits right in the middle of the track. DANGER!!!!

And that danger is about to be delivered....

Rodrigo Vilela slams into Cartwright, with both cars suffering damage to their nose cones and wings. Off to the pits for them both...

Vilela limps back to the pits...

As does Cartwright. A long way to go around Imola with no front wing....

Whilst carnage unfolds behind him, race leader Ed Greenhalgh continues on, building a nice lead...

The top 8 place runners after a hectic opening few laps...

Surely not. Yep, Cartwright is off for the third time this race.... this time though, his luck is up. Beached in the gravel, he is OUT.

TNR driver Norbert Horvath sits in 4th position, having avoided troube. He has climbed 6 places from the start....

10 laps in, and 2nd place holder John Warrington leads 3rd place driver Charrel Jalving....

Still close together, a battle for 4th through to 7th...

AMR driver John Warrington keeps the foot to the floor, trying to catch his team mate....

The running order on Lap 13, with the 1st to 8th place drivers...

The running order on Lap 13, with the 9th to 16th place drivers...

The running order on Lap 13, with the 17th to 22nd place drivers...

With over a quarter of the race down, will the rain arrive? That is what all teams are asking, and at the moment, there is no sign of it! At this point, we take a commercial break, with pit stops surely just around the corner.....

Going great so far! A lot of problems in front of me, after a bad start in now in 3rd position!! Houston is in 10th, I am confident he will be able to overtake some more!

Good think Oakley and Aleksander are down the back for my championship hopes..

Now I hope for the best and that I can climb on the podium after the race! :)

Mental note: Do not use boosts
delayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it
Yeah, for me, I'd prefer to wait a day longer for Part 1 and get it all in one go, than have a big delay in the middle

same here, especialy when both my cars come off the back row and are now in the points. Keep going boys.
