Seeing as there is no vector version of the GPG logo I have made up this updated version.

If people like it then I can send it to the GPGSL members. If people don't like it then never mind.

GPGSL San Marino Grand Prix

Qualifying

Welcome back to Imola for the qualifying session for the San Marino Grand Prix. Chances are that VSM will claim the pole today with their massive +7bhp can of whoop-ass. However these could blow up in their faces come the Grand Prix.
Anyway, despite a forecast of 75% chance of rain, today its dry. So, lets get to the action.

The teams make their final preparations.

Eager to get their boost up and running, VSM send Johnson out at the earliest opportunity.

Karjalainen of Snake takes 2nd.

Shadow's Greidanus takes 3rd.

Houston goes close, just 0.081 behind.

Silvestre gets even closer!

Marko is always there or there abouts, 4th but less than a tenth slower.

You can't get much closer than that! Greenhalgh takes 2nd only 0.001 behind.

Zandvoort winner Sheppard takes 7th.

Maverick is slowest so far.

Pedersen's pole makes it an all VSM front row!

Hinz makes it to 10th.

Muller 8th.

No, Jalving is 8th now.

Elleker some way off in 13th position.

10th place for MAC's Hunsley.

Snake need some more pace, Worseling in 13th.

Vilela a lap thats way, way off the pace. He must have had an off somewhere.

SCR's Kittleson grabs 7th.

And Cartwright spoils VSM's party.

Horváth must be disappointed with 17th.

Oakley takes 3rd despite his recent penalty.

AMR's Warrington makes the top ten.

First runs complete, here's the standings.

Second runs under way and Snake are definitely improving, Karjalainen jumps 3 to take 8th.

Greidanus improves to 10th place.

Elleker makes a massive improvement from 20th to 9th.

Jalving gets a much better lap this time, 4th position.

Hinz makes a slight improvement but is still struggling in the bottom half.

Worseling goes quicker, but its not enough to gain any places.

Vilela manages a time thats not 3 seconds slower than pole.

Horváth driving Sheppards car takes 8th.

Second runs complete, lets read em and weep.

Third runs underway and Warrington takes pole with a very small margin.

Aleksander moves up 3 to 10th.

Only for Maverick to jump from last to steal the positon away.

Pedersen takes back pole by 3 tenths! That can of whoop-ass is really working in the Dane's VSM.

VSM's Johnson takes 4th.

Sheppard can only improve to 15th.

Jalving up to 3rd.

Worseling still struggling down in 21st with another gain in time if not position.

Kittleson still over half a second off the pace.

Vilela gets himself off the last spot.

Third runs done, lets take a look at the standings.

Greenhalgh grabs a front row spot from his team mate Warrington.

Greidanus makes it into the top ten.

Fantastic time by Elleker to take 4th after slipping down to 16th.

Worseling climbs up from last.

Vilela gains some time but doesn't gain any grid positions.

Now nearing the end of the qualifying session and the fourth runs are complete.

Muller not quite matching Elleker's efforts.

And that was the last improvement in time any driver.

Stay tuned for the official results.

It's strange that Matt and I can never both have a good qualifying.. I know we spread the risk to both be agressive, but this is just strange..

Anyhow, a 5th place for me makes me very happy! A podium is close! But a lot can happen in the race! My direct components are: Aleksander in 14th, Horváth in 10th and Kittleson in 13th! So this is good for me.. I hope Houston can make a huge jump into the points from 15th place..

Looking forward to the race ;)

Components? You making something? Think you mean competition :)

Pleased that Marko is starting behind me for a change, but miffed that I'm not higher up. The gap to Marko needs to be reduced, damnit!

A very good qualifying on a track that is so hard to pass on! Hopefully the AMR cars can get through Turn 1 safely.

Well done to Michael for getting such a big margin!

Copeman thrilled with Elleker result

Christel VXR boss Chris Copeman was thrilled after qualifying saw jack Elleker put the lead christel car on the second row of the grid, "with a 75% chance of rain tomorrow and teams around us all having used boosts we are hopeful of a very good result in the race." said Coppeman. He added that "Jack is really settling in now and has turned in some good results, I can't wait to see what he does for us. We have our strategy for the race tomorrow and we'll do everything we can to get on the podium...and dare I say it...we might even have a shot at the top step."

Pedersen happy with first pole

VSM driver Michael Pedersen claimed his first pole position at Imola with a stunning lap. He had this to say "I´ve always enjoyed racing at Imola, its a nice track. Putting the car in pole is always good and makes u feel good, but its a long race and with a big chance of rain we need to be careful. But i have to say, i´m really really pleased with this pole! And seeing my teammate Ben in 7th just shows the potential this car has. We´re in for a good bash of points in the race!"
Well done Michael, Ben and Jack, EPIC qualy, seems those +7 bhp's helped us at VSM ! :D Lets get WINNING !
