good to be 4th,good feelings for the race:-)

My GPGSL Career
A good 5th with Tafuro directly in front and Copeman directly behind me. That might become a very interesting race!

I thought that, although I was hoping for better in qualifying to be honest.

lets wait and see what we can do from 10th place.
I am just tidying up the race coverage for you guys. I was thinking about True's idea and as an alternate to his idea what would people think to having an A and B car, eg Italy A and Italy B kinda like in bobsled where A is the stronger team. Then split them into A and B qualifying and certain rules where Perf A must be higher than B and with more perfs to spend for A than B or something along those lines
Such as if there are 23 countries, the top 21 countries get two cars, as in 42 cars and two more so 44 for two qualifyings? i thought of something like that, where team owners control 2 countries until the other teams are filled, but i think A and B teams could work nicely as well. Glad to see that my idea wasnt completely terrible ;-)

I don't like the a being stronger than b team but if each user had 2 Nations like atm I've got ireland and my other team would be croatia or something...

Yeh that would be cool too. Well its all up to preference this is if we want a two qualification system?

Agree! Sounds better to me also...

Welcome one and all to raceday here in Germany for round 11 of the Nations Cup. Qualifying has left us with a very interesting race. Congratulations again go to De Boer but with 4th, 5th and 6th places held by the joint championship leaders we are sure to see a real humdinger of a race. Without further ado let’s head down to the action.

Riding with Tafuro at the start and he is blocked by Ward

Maverick uses this to take both of them into the first corner

McGregor got off the line beautifully and takes the lead into turn 1

Copeman lost a place to Razak due to Tafuro and Ward

De Boer is instantly looking to take back first place

Maverick is just stalking the both of them

And De Boer lunges through and retakes the lead while Tafuro also pulls the same move on Ward

He is up to 4th

McGregor now has to defend against Maverick. He shuts the door this time

Razak and Jantsher side by side

Maverick looking again

This time he has McGregor into the chicane

Still side by side but Jantsher wins that

Tafuro having to be very defensive on Ward

But it is not enough as Ward pushes through

Leaving Copeman to latch onto the Italians wheel

Here are the standings after 2 laps

Copeman trying to utilise the slip stream he has from Tafuro’s car

Perhaps not enough though

Jantsher has the run on Tafuro and makes the pass on the inside

Vukcevic is all over Heart

Paddock has run wide

Antunis locks up corners later and runs wide himself

Ward is close enough to McGregor to have a go

And moves into 3rd

Jantsher manages to shut out Tafuro

Vukcevic has run wide out of turn 1

Everyone has the run on him he has dropped 4 places

McGregor looking to respond to Ward

Takes back 3rd place

In the same chicane Tafuro passes Jantsher

The pass leaves Jantsher under pressure from behind

Standings with 4 laps passed

Jantsher still defending against Yoshimoto

Vukcevic takes back one of the places he lost

Razak is looking to get around Yoshimoto now. The Japanese driver cuts him off and forces Razak wide

No room for Urazel

From his car we see Vanthoor makes a move underneath Carreiro

It pushes Carreiro into Urazels clutches

But Carreiro cuts that move off

Ward has passed McGregor again

Zakes is looking up the inside of Urazel but to no avail

A few laps on Urzael is making a move on Vanthoor down the home straight

He succeeds but Zakes is the big loser in this, first Heart

Then Hunsley

And also Vukcevic as Vanthoor responds to Urazel taking his place

Hunsley doesn’t quite manage to overtake Heart though

Copeman is in McGregors slipstream

He pulls out and alongside

And out brakes the Aussie

Time for a short break
great pass there...hopefully I can keep this pace up and get on the podium

GPGSL - Christel VXR team Boss S6-S8, S12 Onwards

What a great start for me! I wouldn't have hoped for such an outcome after the first corner in my dreams! Now I simply have to bring it home...pleeeeeeeease!

Welcome back to the next part of the Hockenheim GP
We rejoin the action to see Vukcevic making a pass on Urazel

Zakes launches himself from very deep he isn’t going to succeed there

Urazel responds to Vukcevics early move

By going around the outside

They are both slow coming out of the corner

Vukcevic alongside Urazel

And retakes the position

Carreiro runs into the gravel

Vukcevic has run it a little wide

And it costs him he is facing the wrong way

Oh disaster for De Boer, That is his suspension

No need to hit the wall though, Race Leader out

Maverick takes over the lead

Copeman moves onto the podium

Tafuro right behind him in forth

Zakes has a tow from Urazel

He makes the pass and sticks it before the corner

Antunis claws back a place he lost earlier

Copeman looking at his options

Oakley thwarts Xanthis’ attempt this time

He cannot keep him behind him much longer though

Vukcevic yet again having to make up places

He is past Horvath before the chicane too

Antunis dives through on Stein for 17th

Zakes has moved onto Heart

Round the outside like Urazel did earlier

Vukcevic in a sandwich

It will only hold Vukcevic for so long though

He has another before the chicane

Ward is the first man to pit; he comes in from 2nd place

Zakes is in from 11th

Ward rejoins in 10th

Urazel makes a move on Ward since he has the lighter car

Zakes rejoins in last

Vukcevic is very aggressive in his defence against Paddock

First championship contender Copeman in

Followed by Jantsher and Yoshimoto

Ward is on the home straight where is Copeman

He is out in front of Ward

Ward is carrying all the speed

Makes it past

A replay of Paddock crashing into the wall

Jantsher is out 13th

Yoshimoto comes out 16th and like Ward the lighter car capitalised

Our race leader is in

As does Tafuro

Maverick is safely out 5th

Tafuro is out ahead of Copeman but again like Ward on Copeman

Copeman is carrying the speed

McGregor has the lead for now but is yet to pit

He comes in on this lap though where will he filter back

Meanwhile Tafuro is having to defend against the cars yet to pit

Eventually Carreiro does find his way through

As McGregor returns right in front of the both of them

He is out so slow and it gives Tafuro a chance at the pass

He makes it a two-fer and gets Carreiro too

Time for another break
We’re back with even more Nations Cup
Sadly for Madagascar it is another retirement for Zakes

Also just behind him Stein has crashed out as well

Tafuro up the inside of McGregor

Maverick, Ward and Copeman retain their positions

Heart has come to a stop in the pit entrance he has run out of fuel (Embarassing)

A problem arises with Nations sharing pit boxes

Standings following all the stops

Razak is close to Yoshimoto

Jantsher locks up bringing himself back to Yoshimoto

Yoshimoto now has the run on Jantsher

And passes him up the inside

Starting the next lap Yoshimoto is defending against the Austrian

And in a reverse of the previous lap Jantsher takes Yoshimoto

Yoshimoto immediately responds into the next chicane

Carreiro is under attack from the active Vukcevic

Who makes another pass

Razak all over the back of Jantsher

Tries to go underneath but not this time

He tries again at the next chicane but Jantsher shuts the door

Vanthoor has a good view of this as he will be looking to edge into the points

Vukcevic, who else is at it again

Ward has closed the gap to under a second to Maverick

Vanthoor just needs to push a little harder

Ward is right onto the back of Maverick

He is alongside him into the chicane

And Ward is through he takes the lead!

Maverick is looking from a bit too far out if I am honest

Ward however makes sure

He is much closer this time

Ward leaves Maverick no room

Welcome back to the final part of the Hockenheim GP
Straight back into the action as Ward has locked up and run wide. Moves him down to 3rd

Maverick retakes the lead

Xanthis overtakes Hunsley down the field

Copeman taking chunks out of Mavericks lead

Carreiro having a peek at Vukcevic

Just ahead Xanthis has run wide

Carreiro has to cancel the pass

Xanthis is out after colliding with the wall

Jantsher battling with Yoshimoto some more

And having the upper hand

Ward spins again! Rejoins 5th

Yoshimoto takes back the place he lost to Jantsher

The three championship leaders are all in the podium places

Yoshimoto is first to pit

Rejoins in 15th place

Tafuro pits next

As Does Ward

Wards pit crew has done a great job he leapfrogs Tafuro

Replays show Tafuro had to hold for Razak to come through how unfortunate

Razak comes out ahead of Yoshimoto too

But as in a lot of these cases does not have the speed to defend against him

Copeman pits from 2nd

Safely out in 3rd place ahead of Ward and Tafuro

Race leader in will he hold off Copeman

McGregor is in too

Copeman is on the home straight

Maverick is already out though

McGregor has nipped ahead of Ward and Tafuro into 3rd

Vukcevic storms past the just pitted Hunsley

Standings after the last pit stops

More of the Hunsley Vukcevic scrapping

Copeman is less than a second behind Maverick, you do not need a time gap you can see it

These two just refuse to give up the place great competitive spirit from these two men

Oakley wants to join in too

Importantly at the business end Maverick has discovered his pace after the stop

Vanthoor has to put in some good laps if he wants to earn points today

Vukcevic has dispatched Hunsley and turns his attention to Urazel

Perhaps should pick his spot a little better since he is too far away this time

Just ten laps remaining

Both Copeman and Ward still in with a chance of taking Maverick and McGregor respectively

Ward wastes no time, he comes out of McGregor’s slipstream

And passes him up the inside for 3rd

McGregor is trying to respond

And succeeds in the next chicane

Ward is not finished yet though

And retakes McGregor

And puts a bit of space between the two lovely racing

As we enter the last lap Maverick may have just enough of a gap

Same for Ward

Vukcevic still making passes

And he does it John Maverick wins the Hockenheim GP

Copeman 2nd

Ward 3rd

Razak hangs on to sweep up the last point

Here are your standings

Big congratulations to Maverick that is his first win of the season and it sends him into sole lead of the Championship. Although Copeman finishing 2nd doesn’t offer much breathing room for the Swiss driver. A very busy race was witnessed today and I want to thank the drivers for really putting on a show. What an advertisement for the Nations Cup they were today
unlucky at the start, unlucky at the last pit.bad result...

My GPGSL Career
YES! That last set of tires was incredible. I was finally able to push the car to its limit and stay in front. My first win and the lead in the championship...that was not what I could expect after the qualy! Great race.
Nevertheless Chris (Copeman) needs some good words, too. He kept me busy all over the race and it was fantastic to race against him...great driving man!

Unfortunate for DeBoer, however. I think he would have won this race without this mistake, as he shew an incredible speed. Hopefully he'll be in the fights next time again.

12th in the end of te race after qualifying 9th... Something went very wrong during the race.

-----------------------------------------------------

Well ending up 10th isnt a big disaster, but its outside the points and we will be wanting points every race after our start...

I guess its over to me now for RD :)
