Motorsports.com in interview with John Maverick directly after the FP

Reporter: Mr. Maverick, finally another good result. Third isn't that bad, isn't it?
JM: No, it's great, actually. I knew that we would be very competitive here, that car was good and I suppose this'll be a very solid base for Matt and Nick to work with.
Reporter: However, Adam Davies is again in front of you, what do you say to that?
Well, obviously I'd love to see me in front of him *laughs*, but you have to remember that he's some days longer into this series than I am. He's much more experienced than I am. But I'll work as hard as I can to be competitive next year and fight for the tester championship.
Reporter: Can I take your statement in the way that you will stay at Velox as a Tester?
As I said yesterday, you'll have to wait on my official statement. I even don't know yet, who becomes new team owner of the team and what will happen then. The only thing that I know, is that Phil Oakley offered me a test seat at Phoenix, but I declined with heavy heart. I have the chance to test for a team next year, that is in a good position to win the WDC and the WTC. That is a chance I don't want to let pass. Nevertheless I'm very thankful to Philip for this offer. Maybe he keeps me in mind *winks and then disappears in the motorhome*

Excellent result, just what i needed after last weekends disapointing result.

It seems that either hit the ground running and get a good result or if I don't have a great first run I will struggle!

Will be hard to catch Somogyi now but I will try my best and if I can even take 2nd that would be an excellent result for my first season.

Good work by John to, fast learner that one!
