2008 Trackpack - Released!

When you don't press the save button in the TSM MD tab, it won't create a 'TSM-MD file'
Then when you load the trackprofile it doesn't detect its own MD formatted file and leaves the MD in the dat untouched.
But because TSM uses it's own naming conventions the existing data in the dat file will keep the track from correctly loading in GP4.

In simple:
TSM names the trackslots to [Trackname][Year]
then the hardcoded untouched MD tells GP4 to load melbourne2001 which could easily be Fuji2009 for instance...

TSM 2 will detect this, but the soon to be released final of ZaZ Gp4 tools 1.26 doesn't.

Another solution with current TSM is to open the dat file in cmagic and clear the Prefix value from the 'GP4info' settings

Btw, did you fix the problem about blank fields? When hiiting the save button the laps and split data was deleted in the .dat file even though I did not set these values in TSM. That's the only problem which worries me about clicking save.

Zaz, your suggestion to save track, then use Magic Data tab did not work for Shueyfans Spa 2008 track.

Yes, it will be combined with another 2008 project later on.


also, please remember everyone that Barcelona, Magny-Cours, Hungaroring, Sakhir and Montreal are pretty much identical to the already released versions of these tracks, so don't worry about those tracks - as you can use the originals. however, the other tracks have all been changed from the previously released versions, so hopefully you can get them working!

I tried several options under gpxpatch (debug mod/non debug mod , low verbosity ...high verbosity etc) but istanbul is not working under non tsm ....are there any other istanbul tracks available (non-tsm)...just to give it a try and see if these other istanbul tracks work for me?

i just wanted to say: the spa-francorchamps circuit is TOP ACE work! I went there last week when the renault world series were there, I must say, every building is almost perfectly done! The pit entrance is perfect, the textures are perfect, the raidillon = perfect! WOW, this really is without a doubt the best Spa circuit available for any race game! Great work guys! 11/10!

I managed to get it working (copied the tracks into the 2007 Trackpack), but I have another problem.
On the tracks I have the standard tarmac, so I installed the high res tarmac with the Wadupdater, but it didn't work. I extracted the wad and copied the new tarmac in it. This didn't work to.

Really strange.

is bump mapping disabled?

I tried it with bump mapping and without.

I maid a tsm trackpack with the tracks that Ed provided and
so far no ctd or anything bad. Its wonderful work.
Only thing that i used my own magid data and no problems.

Could somebody rename the track slots in 2009er grid and then reupload the trackpack?

you don't need to rename slots to change to 2009 or any other year. just change the order in GPxPatch using the GPxTrack tab.

Thanks Ed, great step into the direction for a more detailed 2008 mod, another real rich quality stuff launched by the community for last year's season what is superb.

I'be been testing the 2008 Spa as I prefer the most recent layout to all the others, but I am finding the last 100m of the main straight extremely bumpy. Is there something that can be done to smooth it out a little bit?
